Review 6 Head 1788 - Sydney

Marina Semaan
The food was absolutely phenomenal! Sari was very hospitable & provided me with a run-down of the menu. Everything was delicious & mouthwatering! The only negative review I have, is the cost for a serving of table water (tap water) & a small size of sauce?! I understand it's five star dining & you have a reputation to meet - however bill at the end of the night for two people was what I actually earn in a week. I would come back and dine there again. Thank You

Came here on a weeknight and it was quite packed, got seated outside on the skirts of the tables. It was a cold night but the heaters held up. Outside does offer a better view. Ordered 3 entrees and two mains. Steaks I highly recommend. Oysters weren't as clean as I'd prefer..bit Shelly đŸ„ș Not too pricey but will return! Great for a date night!

Set in a beautiful part of the city, thĂ© views are magnificent and so is the decor at this restaurant. We had a 330pm (call it late lunch or early dinner) and we were so looking forward to having our socks knocked off. The service was slightly lacklustre (perhaps due to shortages in staffing at that time), where the one waitstaff did repetitively did not clear plates away from our table and from others’ fast enough. The food was primarily excellent, with the Mayura being our favourite. The prawns were fabulous too, with a bit of xo sauce. My New York steak was disappointing in that it was over cooked, though when I gave the waiter feedback she did offer another steak (I was halfway through and I would have wasted a steak if I had said yes). The New York steak was also not a great quality piece of meat, with gristle here and there. For a steak restaurant i had expected every single piece of precious meat to me perfectly executed and for that (and the slow service- hard to get attention also) I rate them 4 stars. We weren’t offered thĂ© dĂ©gustation but there was no explanation as to why (could be the odd timing of our dine in).

One of the best steakhouse I've been to. The entrees were all great and amazing. The bread with wagyu butter was good. The salmon and sauces go well together. The cured wagyu was one of the best. Mains were great and steak cooked to medium rare as expected. Drinks aren't too shabby either. Service was excellent and all the staff were attentive. The 6head team made the whole experience memorable. Would definitely be back for more.

Was looking forward to a birthday dinner at 6Head and was quite dissapointed with the experience. Waiter mixing up people's orders, forgetting to get extra Sauces, forgetting drinks and most importantly not knowing how to cook a medium rare steak. Also can't get over my side "salad" which was half a head of Lettuce with parmesan cheese and olive oil. Calimari and salmon entrees were nice but definitely not worth the expensive menu and definitely not a top 10 Australian steakhouse.

I had a fantastic experience here during Vivid. The food and the visual effects were very impressive and I think my eyes were bigger than my stomach since I couldn't finish all of the food. The customer service provided by the staff was exceptional considering how busy it was and it was a memorable evening. Delicious food and cocktails, many thanks to everyone at 6HEAD for an incredible night.

I was super excited to visit here after all the hype but unfortunately it was disappointing! We booked a table of 10 for a birthday dinner and I have to say the service was horrible! We received our drinks at 10:30 after we finished our steaks
the steak was cooked perfectly and it was delicious but the sauce and chips were cold
the waiter did look overwhelmed so I’m not sure if he made the mistakes. Such a shame for a beautiful place! Ps sorry but I was starving after the wait and forgot to take a photo of my steak haha.

Beautiful location with stunning views of both the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. 6 Head is one of the better steak locations in Sydney and if I recommend anything on the menu it’s the Wagyu Skewers! They have a variety of starters and sides which compliment the meats so well. I also recommend getting a tomahawk because why not!! Also their hazelnut ice cream is đŸ˜™đŸ‘ŒđŸŒ On week nights plenty of street parking is available but weekends just head over to the nearby Wilson’s parking. Great restaurant, great staff, great food and great location. The place is location on the rocks with harbour bridge and opera house views when dining. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful in explaining the menu and helping you choose your right cut of meat. The 450 day dry aged steak is to die for as it melts in your mouth and it pulled apart using just a fork. Highly recommend this place - great for an anniversary dinner.

Celebrated mine and my partners birthday and was just a great night with beautiful food.

I discovered this place through ‘Design by Australia’ as it made it in Sydney’s top architectures, and I can absolutely see why!

Not only is the design and decor immensely charming but the food and service is just as amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed the
Lobster tail with decadent mash and broccolini to go with. Oysters were super fresh, and a friend of mine praises the steak here, which I must return for!

Not to mention, the staff here are very attentive and friendly which made my dining experience all the more amazing. High recommend to seafood and grill lovers, will definitely return.

Incredible views and menu, a proper steakhouse with prices to match. Nice decor and waitstaff are attentive. Good for groups and making a night of it.

Great indoor & outdoor seating with a view of Opera House. Staffs are friendly, like it when greeted from the minute you walk in all the way to your table. Ordered croquette and prawn for entree, Prawn is Amazing and had wagyu rump for main.. they were so juicy, and cooked to perfection. We both too full so only ordered panna cotta for dessert, but we got extra dessert (meringue with sago) as it was our anniversary dinner.. the Meringue is goooooooooodddddd (hopefully it will be in the regular menu)

Lunch for hubby's birthday at 6 head was gorgeous, sitting Harbourside with a view of Sydney's greatest icons. The food was delicious with the Wagyu Rib Eye completely melt in the mouth and the Salad with Green Goddess Dressing and Pickled Onions refreshing and bright. The Lobster🩞 Mac and Cheese was a winner on its own, let alone as a side to the steak and the Burrata always popular. I found some of the dishes like the Lobster Ravioli and the XO Butter Broccolini underseasoned but hubby disagreed so I guess it's all a matter of preference and I was happy to add extra salt provided. Service was patchy with the sommelier outstanding but the waitstaff forgetful and it actually made me cringe to have to ask for wine/plates/the bill multiple times but to their credit as soon as I let the manager know he was so apologetic and even gave us a complimentary dessert and wine. I understand that with new staff these things happen but their response was absolutely perfect in my book!!

Ox tail croquettes were delicious - a tad dry though. Flavour was nice but also had tiny pieces of cartilage which is expected of ox tail but may not be pleasing to some people.
I ordered the grain fed steak which was cooked nicely, but the steak itself was under seasoned. The veal jus on the other hand was extremely salty.
Was very excited to try the passionfruit meringue tart which was recommended as their best dessert. However, it was sickly sweet and there was barely any passionfruit flavour. Was expecting a delicate balance between sweet and tartness but it was just a sugar overload - extremely disappointing for their claimed best dessert.
Service wasn’t the best - the restaurant was only half full and it was extremely difficult to gain the staff’s attention. Drinks weren’t great and very slow to come from the bar as well.

The waiter was very informative, as a steak lover the meat was absolutely perfectly seasoned and tender with mushroom sauce that melts in your mouth ahh! I ordered lamb tartare as an entrée which was amazing. The baby Gem salad better than i accepted 20/20.
Thank you for the lovely evening x
