Review Yasaka Ramen - Sydney

Honey
I ordered level 1(spicy ) vegetable Ramen. It’s way too spicy for a 🌶 chilli lover myself. The pork broth tasted pretty good. Nice chewy noodle! 😋 I think the plastic spoon is a major let down for the dinning in. Ordered ice green tea but no ice was served. Service staffs were prompt! Cost : estimate $20 per bowl

Ramen was delicious!! Not too salty and not too thick. This place is always busy! The online menu didn't let me choose the noodle thickness. The atmosphere on ground floor felt so much like Japan

All photos from seperate visits. Extremely delicious and not too pricey. The meat melts in your mouth and they follow instructions carefully. There's always a lot of oil in the soup it becomes hard to drink, but I believe that is from the delicious meats. Their opening hours are also very hard to determine without asking them directly as Google is incorrect.

The place has great vibe! Have been many times but they never disappoint. We got special yasaka ramen, gyoza, lotus root and fried octopus. All serving size are great. You might have to wait a little as they have pick up orders in between but staffs are super nice and friendly you’d not mind at all!!

Mmmm this pace is great! Nice and easy ordering from their QR code and you know it's going to come out fresh and hot because the cooks do the prep right there in front of you (if you're sitting at the noodle Bar on the ground floor). It's only a tiny space but the service is excellent and the food is tasty. I got the pork katsu ramen with miso and it came out steaming hot. There's a good serving of noodles, mushroom, corn and plenty of meat. I couldn't finish the soup but it was nice to drink with the leftover corn pieces giving a little bit of sweetness. Definitely drop in here for a warming ramen!

I always wanted to eat in there but it is so busy. We managed to eat at the kitchen. Food was delicious. Noodles are made in there. Staff is very friendly and kind. Booking is very recommended

Doesn’t the long queue at Yasaka Ramen make you curious? We were lucky to be seated at the kitchen counter to witness the ramen making in action. To our surprise, the ramen was just okay. Noodles have al dente textures, flavours were not phenomenal, and the broth was too thick( just like someone put cornflour in the broth). Chicken karaage was yummy. I wouldn’t recommend the gyoza as I saw the chef prepared them from a store-bought package. The staff were very nice and polite. But the downside is cash-only. Really? For a well-established eatery in CBD, it is a big letdown.

Yasaka Ramen - "New Pork City" Yasaka Ramen is a unique restaurant that is by no means mainstream in it's taste. Can a restaurant that differs with wildly from the norm hold up against the slew of Ramen places in Sydney? Upon entrance you are guided by the expectedly nice (this is a Japanese restaurant after all) staff to a small bar, where you use a QR code to order, which as always is incredibly annoying, though with Ramen it does have some benefits, as choosing customisable ingredients is much easier now. Your section of the bar has adequate materials for the dining experience, with chopsticks, tissues and three shakers of salt, chilli powder and garlic powder. The place is very clean and the ambience is quite nice and reminiscent of Ramen stalls in Japan. The shop offers no unique/store-mixed drinks so I cannot comment on that, however there are canned soft drinks on the menu. Now the most important factor of the meal, the Ramen itself. The extra three pieces of karaage were full and rich, though the crumbling was not that crunchy, though contract with the broth may have softened it. Bamboo shoots were crunchy and had good flavour, though it's obvious store-bought produce and not freshly prepared. The kikaruge (the thinly sliced wood ear mushrooms) were tasty though I found that they did not give ample amounts of it. Two soft-boiled eggs flank the bowl, and the warm white of the egg pairs great with the cold yolk. The tonkotsu slices take centre stage in helping provide the body of the meal, four in number and meaty, rich and satisfying. The meat is tender and full of that pork-y goodness that accompany the broth and noodles deliciously. Really great meat in this and it's nice to see a Ramen place not skive on the meat, though four slices is a massive amount of meat, and might be too much for most people. Noodles are where Yasaka Ramen varies from the pack, with them being cooked in an 'al dente.' They are also quite thick and are chewy with good springiness, but the main reason why they taste so different is the flavour of the noodles, which is a very weird but nonetheless appetising aspect of the meal. They taste very very strongly of pork bone and collagen with an almost konjak-like texture. Overall the noodles are where they fall short a bit and I wish they would reign in the pork flavour a bit, considering both the broth and the meat add to the overpowering nature of the meal. The broth also falls the same way the noodles, tasting incredibly strongly of pork bone and trotters and yet lacking flavour. It is not particularly rich nor creamy which is nice to see, but the pork flavour negates whatever balance the broth would have. All in all the broth is mediocre at best and might put off many people who dislike the incredibly strong taste. Service/Ambience: B- Drinks: N/A Food: C+ Final grade: C+ | Slightly above average Comments: An interesting restaurant with great Ramen toppings and alright service eventually bottlenecked by strange flavours and choices while making the broth. Valuation: N/A

I got the grilled pork bone ramen and added spicy sauce. Soup was super yummy and flavoursome. However, the noodles were slightly overcooked/soggy. I prefer it a bit more al dente. Service was average.<br/><br/>Food: 4/5<br/>Service: 3/5<br/>Price: 4/5

Ramen have good soup base, I would recommend this for my friends.

🍜All this rainy weather got me craving a warm bowl of ramen 😍. Yasaka Ramen is one of my favourite ramen places as their broth is packed full of flavour and the meat is so tender! If you prefer a medium broth, you should check them out! I also added in some grilled chashu (pork) meat (recommended). <br/>. <br/>.<br/>.<br/>FEATURED: <br/>🍜 Kakuni Ramen : Delicious slow cooked soft pork bone, flame grilled to give it a crispy texture on the outside while still soft and juicy in the inside. $19.80

Came in on the last day of our trip. Ramen broths were really strong and chashu was the best I've ever had at any Auckland/Sydney ramen store. Mini curry don was also delicious and super worth ($3.5) only with every ramen purchase. The tofu salad was huge but there wasn't much dressing flavour to salad. Gyoza was a good side dish to end the meal.

The restaurant is a cute little Japanese theme Ramen Bar, I had ordered the Spicy pork ramen and my girlfriend had ordered a chicken broth Tamen. For the spicy one I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would, the broth was covered in chilli flakes and every sip I could feel it getting stuck in my throat. The pork as well was very under cooked, pink & cold, I had left it in the broth to hopefully cook it a bit more. Overall our first experience here wasn't the best but hopefully in the future when we return it will change our minds.

Been here a number of times and always enjoyed my meal, though I haven't been for a while. The broth is slightly oily but it's full of flavour and the meat is always tender. The corn in the rib ramen adds good sweetness and is reminiscent of the Sapporo style. A touch on the expensive side but this isn't surprising given their location. Gyoza and takoyaki are also pretty good.

Definitely a 4 star but do read my reasons for the downgrade to a 3 - <br/>I have long planned to get into the ramen at YR. Cool industrial chic fit out, open kitchen, welcoming staff, got a table easily and settled in and sent off our order of beers and karaage to begin with. The beers arrive with an account sleeve which advises - Pay downstairs- CASH ONLY ! This is the first Japanese place I've been to in all my years and travels that works on a 'cash only' basis - I thought this was the domain of establishments of yesteryears and those having something to hide with their cash flow - why on earth would a cool place that's buzzing with clientele be a cash only business ? <br/><br/>Having decided that this was our first and last visit (we do have a problem with 'cash only' restaurants - charge me a premium for paying electronically, no probs !) we ordered our ramen. I must say the Kararage did not disappoint . The ramen was exquisite and the 0.5 heat level is quite significant. The noodles and the pork in the Grilled Kakuni Ramen and Spicy Black Ramen were exquisite. Enjoyed our meal. Service - very ordinary - and very unusually inefficient for a Jap place. <br/><br/>Headed off downstairs, paid by cash (the lady managing the counter and seating said she didn't know why they were cash only) and requested a tax receipt. I was given a printout of the order with no ABN etc. It all began to make sense now. I then asked for the ABN number to be written and handed back the 'tax invoice' only to be promptly printed out another proper tax invoice ! <br/>C'mom guys - drop the cash only policy. Join the mainstream ! You are in 21st century Australia !! <br/>And I hope I don't get refused entry or 'noted' for my displeasure with the arrangements. <br/><br/>And the place needs a scrub down too !
Alex
Ramen is quite good here. Pork broth is really think and flavourful. We ordered shoyu based maya lamen. Fried chicken is quite tender and juicy. Overall environment is nice. Staff is quite friendly. Only one thing need to improve is the floor. It’s quite oily and slippy. It won’t cost much to do the cleaning and Create a better environment for customers.

One of the best ramen places in the CBD area. Amazing broth (choice of shio, shoyu and miso), good portioning of chasu. Noodles were the only let down. Floors are very slippery but service is fast and friendly.

I had the Grilled Kakuni Ramen. They have great potential and with more experience, I am sure that they will improve and make a name for themselves in Sydney. I only rated this place 3 stars because the noodle was slightly undercooked. (I actually prefer noodle that's slightly undercooked, however this ramen was thicker than normal so it felt more obvious that it was undercooked).<br/><br/>Aside from the noodle, the soup was excellent! Great depth of flavour.<br/><br/>The grilled meat was also excellent! It was succulent, juicy and flavourful.<br/><br/>Best of luck, I'll be back :)

Tryin this place with my friends since this place got a pretty good review, turns out we’re so dissapointed. We order the spicy ramen and chicken ramen with shoyu based. For 17$ i think its not worth it since u got 2 slice of meats, half egg and bean spourts and the broth is fatty thick and oily and doesnt taste good. I prefer ramen place in Chatswood.
Fork 'n' Spoon
Loved this small Ramen restaurant just a short walk from Museum Station.<br/>Just note it is cash only.<br/><br/>There is seating upstairs if you walk in and feel the place is full, but I must admit sitting downstairs overlooking the open kitchen watching the chefs preparing the Ramen is so entertaining.<br/><br/>It did take a little while to flag down a waiter to place our order, which I take as normal in a Japanese restaurant. But once we ordered the food came out in a reasonable time considering it was in the height of the lunch trade.<br/><br/>I can't remember what we ordered as its was about 2 weeks ago now, but I do remember it was super tasty and the portions were huge.<br/>The Kaarage chicken was soooo good too.<br/>Definitely will come back.<br/><br/>

My favourite ramen place in Sydney. I love how hearty the Grilled Kakuni Ramen with shoyu broth is. Mmmmm..<br/><br/>I took off a star because the restaurant is currently a total hazard. The floor is covered in grease and seriously needs to be cleaned. Every time I go there I slip several times and have to take extra care not to slip on the stairs.

This massive bowl of noodle can definitely feed three at least!! There were so much meat they had to put the rib on another plate. Good for those who loves meat. Soup tastes alright.
Seed To Fork
Unfortunately the food presented didn’t look inviting but off putting to be honest. I’ve lost my appetite when the food arrived. The bowl was dirty, there was like someone else’s seaweed or pickled ginger sticking to the bowl...All in all, this is a horrible dining experience.

My friend recommended me this restaurant, and I’ve never been happier! It may look small from the front but they also have more tables upstairs. <br/>First of all, I ate a lot of ramen in my life, but this joint is certainly one of the most memorable one. I ordered the ramen with the most meat in it, and I was so glad that I’m able to try all of them! My favourite certainly have to be the spare ribs hands down even when it seems weird at first glance. The broth is thick and rich and I am so in love with the texture of their noodle. The meat is very well seasoned and I would 100% come back here for my next trip in Sydney!<br/>Not to mention the staffs are very friendly and nice, and the ambience is perfect for a casual lunch/dinner. The wait time for the noodles are also quite quick ~5 minutes.<br/>10/10 for all features.

Best ramen in town hands down. I love everything about them, the price, the food, the sides even down to the service. Just everything! I keep coming back because it's just nearby. And because I'm just a little ol me, alone, I feel comfortable eating alone here. I don't mind waiting in line just to eat here. It's the first thing I told my friends to eat when they're craving ramen especially the friends who came to visit Sydney. It is a bit annoying though that they only take cash and no eftpos or card. Yes, I know that CBA is just right across the street, but it's just annoying, but then again, it's worth it.

Best Ramen please in Townhall area, always packed and long waiting line outside. There soup broth never fails, Charshu pork was perfect! Been here so many times with different groups of friends and colleagues, everyone is happy and recommend to their friends too!

My bf Guorium🧪 did a take away.<br/><br/>I personally think the meat is kind of disaster as well as the noddles... toooo chewy and hard, so that there is no any favour for noddles.. <br/><br/>3 🌟 -hot ramen is kind of hot... but somehow the whole dish doesn’t go well. <br/><br/>Won’t visit them again.

Thry are very fast and friendly. Jjst waited 8min for peak hour. Very proud of their noodle they show you how everything is put together behind the glass panel. I ordered takeaway with fish broth noodle and 🌶🌶🌶🌶 ramen for my chilli girl Xihuahua 🐶 .<br/><br/>The soup is great, just no fish flavor at all... The hotest noodle was definitely a killer for me. But their meat slices fall flat. Tough and chewy. The noodle is quite chewy too. Not my kind of ramen unfortunately.<br/>

Used to be good but the recipes has change. May be I try at different locations like neutral bay sometime taste better. Service is slow sometimes but polite .

Many friends of mine recommended this ramen place and there were indeed lots of people waiting at the time I arrived. Therefore, the space was crowded. But that was okay for me. What’s the problem is that it was oily everywhere inside. As I walked in, I found the floor oily and slippery, I had to be careful to avoid falling. After getting seated, the table was oily as well, that was actually a bit disgusting. Then it took me a super long time to get my ramen and it was not surprisingly oily too.

My husband was nursing a hangover and wanted some ramen for lunch, so we came here as I wanted to check this chain out. <br/><br/>We ordered their black spicy ramen and we opted for spice level 1 and found that this had a decent kick. I don’t know if i could do any higher than 1! We shared their original fried chicken and my son tried their mini curry with side of eggs and corn. <br/><br/>I like the chewy texture of the noodles and I wouldn’t mind coming back to try something else on their menu. The staff are efficient and this location has more seating upstairs.<br/>
Sweet2it
Fat noodles and thick tonkatsu soup. I always go for the plain tonkatsu. 1st time was great. 2nd time I went I ordered squid ink soup. Why! Just taste like plain tonkatsu. Also, soup was luke warm on top layer and hot only at the bottom. Lost its piping hot heat in that bowl.

Finally came to try the ramen here, after hearing a lot about it. The broth is really flavourful and the pork was really tasty. Try this place if you like ramen and pork.
Sichao Hu
Heaviest flavoured ramen with creamiest soup I have ever had. Though a bit too salty for me, the soup still tastes absolutely delicious. Had been there twice and will return again.

I absolutely love the rich and creamy pork broth of the Shoyu egg ramen (with added fungus). The staff were super nice and I really liked how the ramen was made fresh and I was able to see it being made upon entry. When the ramen was brought to the table the presentation looked nice. In addition, it was just the right temperature where it did not burn your mouth when drinking the broth, it was actually the perfect warmth! They were extremely generous with the toppings as you can see in the photo. I honestly could confidently say that I’ve had a perfect experience here and would highly recommend taking your family and friends here for some tasty ramen.

Easily one of the very best ramen places in Sydney. I like how they have different levels of spiciness to choose from. I ordered my ramen to not be spicy at all since I have low tolerance for that, but even my friends who had theirs spicy said that the spiciness didn’t wash away the thickness and richness of the broth. Loved the broth so much!
Karen Zou
The broth is thick and tasty as the meat and the soft boiled eggs, the noodle is so good for me and I’m not even a ramen person. The Japanese pancake is good and worth to try

The first time I ever had Ramen was at Yasaka Ramen in Sydney. I was having a bad day and this was exactly what I needed. Oh wow, I had the level 2 spicy, but I am Indian and hence my spice tolerance is pretty high. I was still sulking with every bite, and crying, but i was loving it! It is now my favourite and I can hardly think of any other place that has better ramen. <br/>The staff is very sweet but seemed very confused when they saw me enjoying my meal, yet tears running down my face. <br/>I loved the veggie gyoza, the best part of it. Also,  I've turned vegetarian now, s I had the veggie Shoyu Ramen with spicy cabbage.  It's a great thing to have for vegetarians. <br/><br/>Also, do ask for the fresh crushed garlic (loveee)<br/>Pro tip: If you find Mc Donalds McSpicy to be spicy, please order the 0.5 level of spicy. You can get more if you want, but don't make them put it in the first go or you might regret it later.

It’s okay, I thought since it’s so highly rated it’ll be amazing. But there are many more ramen I’ve tasted in Melbourne much much better. If you are travelling here from somewhere else I would suggest go else where!

*2.5/5*<br/>My friend told me this place was a must try when in Sydney - one of the good ramen places in Sydney CBD!<br/>Went with a different friend who loves ramen on a Sunday night, the ambience and setting looks exactly like a ramen bar in Japan. <br/><br/>The egg was cooked well soft boiled but what disappointed us was the broth. I had the black garlic ramen. I was expecting a thick broth, but it was very watery. The garlic was a strong taste where it stayed in my mouth for a long time even after two hours. I was expecting a different type of noodle ... thinner noodle that would absorb the broth. But it didn't.. <br/><br/>Whether I came on the wrong day... or whether we ordered the wrong ramen... i'm not sure. But the food just didn't hit it for neither of us that night. The service was good, fast and was greeted by staff as we walked by - just like Japan. :)

No Ramen, No Life!<br/><br/>Venue: <br/>Located on Liverpool street, opposite shark hotel.<br/>On street level more like bar setting, facing directly to kitchen.<br/><br/>Service:<br/>Quick, fast, professional & efficient, Japanese standard service.<br/><br/>Food & Drink:<br/>Tried the signature ramen with tonkatsu miso base.<br/>One of the best ramen I’ve tried.<br/>Flavour from the marinate was deeply penetrate to the meat, and tasty for sure.<br/>

Small shop with big taste. It is located on Liverpool St, near world Square. <br/><br/>I come here for the delicious pork soup and handmade noodles. It might be a bit pricy for lunch, and there is always a queue during lunch and dinner hours. But it is worth it! Soup was so thick and naturally tasty. Noodles were made and cooked just right to my taste - springy and I just cannot stop eating it. <br/><br/>The non-ramen dishes were very yummy as well, enjoyed eating everting on the menu. No wonder it’s been my lunch treat and dinner takeaway place. <br/><br/>They also do Japanese BBQ, something I’d like to try with a group of friends.

This is nice Japanese ramen. I like there’s mood and costumer service . All staff were kindly for me. My recommend is egg ramen and spicy ramen.
Aimee.
One of the best ramen restaurants I’ve been to. There’s a variety of all kinds of noodles with different broths and flavours. The ramen comes out hot, fresh and authentic.
Cynthiaeats_
Busy Japanese ramen restaurant in the heart of Sydney CBD. Food was delicious, especially the tofu entrées however the wait was inappropriately long.<br/><br/>With the gyoza, I would recommend sticking to the normal version rather than the age gyoza ($6.80). I would also recommend trying the teriyaki tofu ($5).<br/><br/>If you'd like to read more of my reviews, please check out my zomato page and visit @cynthiaeats_ on Instagram for more photos!

Great ambience in here. Can have your ramen whilst watching the cooks do their thing right infront of you. Ramen was quite good. The tonkotsu broth was flavourful and the black garlic ramen was very mild in flavour so the garlic wasnt too overpowering.

Decided to give this place a try given that I’ve tried other ramen places in Sydney and yet haven’t tried this one. <br/><br/>Inside the ramen shop staff were friendly and seated me in front of the kitchen. Also had complimentary condiments and water which was a good start.<br/><br/>Went with the spicy ramen which took a decent 15 minutes to arrive. I thought it was going to be a good ramen experience to say the least.... but was utterly let down.<br/><br/>To start it off, the miso tonkotsu broth was underwhelming; very little thickness and did not contain much taste of pork bones. Onto the noodles, they were very stiff and chewy and didn’t absorb the flavour of the broth very well. As for the pork and egg, nothing special. Also ordered the lemon iced tea later to cool down the heat from the ramen which was refreshing.<br/><br/>Overall, the ramen isn’t too bad but it certainly wasn’t the best but given the price tag at $17, the quality of the ramen failed to reflect its value for money. <br/><br/>Sorry Yasaka, you probably won’t see me around again.
Adriana Haro-sing
Staff were friendly, but the soup was too rich, very heavy broth, as I read in another comment you need glasses of water to clear your throat. I feel a little sick afterwards. Noodles were ok. And not much spring onion or black fungus for such a big soup. And also we sat next to the condiment bench wich has cleaning chemical bottles hanging next to the napkins, and the mop buckets were just next to it. Maybe need a better place to put all those things together and away of the food and condiments. Toilets needed to be cleaned as well.

Yasaka Ramen is a popular ramen restaurant, I’ve tries their level 2 spicy ramen and enjoyed it. Look forward to visiting again to try other ramen.
FoodLover
Noodle taste nice. A bit high price for a bowl of noodle but I can understand not everyone can offer hand made noodle. <br/>I had popular menu, kakuni ramen and my husband black garlic ramen. <br/><br/>Kakuni ramen was very rich and meaty. It was too much for me. I would order something else next time. Black garlic had a deep taste, yet not too overpowering.
YARM
Yasaka Ramen’s mantra ‘No Ramen No Life’ permeates through their simple shop and soul-warming food. The noodles here are thick and wavy, and the soup is heavy with dense flavours. <br/><br/>I had the Kakuni Ramen which had a very generous serving of delicious slow cooked soft pork bone - it was so soft and juicy, I couldn’t finish! It’s a little on the pricier side for ramen ($19.80) but is unique and worth a try - just don’t get any sides because this dish is super heavy!  <br/><br/>The Corn Ramen and the Egg Ramen ($16.80) were both good, and we thought that shio was the best soup flavour out of them all. <br/><br/>Definitely a ramen place to hit up again and again if thick noods are your go to!

Walked in and saw that the chefs were<br/>japanese which is a huge plus. This seemed like a very authentic real ramen shop i could see all the chefs putting in a lot of effort, care and precision when preparing each ramen. The ramen was pretty spicy... shouldve got level 0.5 there was more spicy flavour than pork i reckon, it was very fatty but i liked it. <br/>Only downside was that the noodles were very thick which i didnt like and the store was soooo hot inside and eating the spicy ramen made it worse and the water wasnt that cold

This place is famous for its ramen, chinese and seafood & the kind of service they provide is just amazing our food arrived on time and it tasted so good fully satisfied with the service and behaviour of their staff.

Best. Ramen. Ever. <br/>For someone who is lazy to travel, I am willing to come into the city for Yasaka Ramen! Their broth is just amazing. Nice and thick which is alot different to other ramen places that i've been to. <br/>Highly recommend the karaage chicken ramen. It's usually quite busy but definitely worth the wait. They have reasonable pricing for their meals and the wait for food isn't too long!<br/> <br/><br/>1/12: Recently came back to try their chicken ramen and ooo do I love this spot even more! I love their thick broth because it's always packed with flavour, highly highly recommend since they came out with a new menu!

I’m almost embarrassed to say that I tried Yasaka Ramen for the first time last week, despite my family and friends raving about this place for many many years. I wish I tried this place sooner! The tonkotsu broth is on the thicker side (which I love), full of flavor and the noodles here are the thicker type (not the usual thin noodles). We also ordered the spicy ramen with a rating of 1 - extremely spicy for us and will suit those who love getting their heat on!!
Cathy
Standard service but ramen broth was great 💕 I ordered the egg shoyu ramen and my friend ordered the grilled chashu shoyu ramen. Portion could be a tad bit more for the price. It was quite pricey for a bowl of ramen but I guess you pay for the rich pork broth taste.<br/><br/>The chashu was done really well. I really like the hint of smokiness in my friend's grilled chashu bowl. It was different :) better, it did not leave us thirsty or to the point of super bloated by the end of our meal **always a plus for ramen bars**<br/><br/>Will definitely come back for their garlic + squid ink bowl. It looks like a superstar 🌟

Seasonal Dassai Ramen was quite enjoyable. The miso soup was smooth and flavourful. Also, I would recommend the prawn gyoza. Lastly, I'd recommend the kakuni ramen, although this time it was a bit sweet due to the marinade. I trust it is not usually like this. Still enjoyed the meal otherwise!

Had Spicy Ramen here in lunch.... and believe me it was a good decision..<br/>The best place to serve your japanese food cravings...<br/>the staff is very polite here<br/>.<br/>I m here in sydney for a few days more.. will visit them again soon

The double charsu ramen was absolutely amazing. Only downfall was the floor was sooo slippery and, erm, the dead bug in the matcha latte. But, seriously, the ramen though 👌🤤

A very nice cozy restaurant, there is bar seating so you can actually watch the cooks at work, and it’s a wonderful sight. <br/><br/>I had the shoyu grilled kakuni and it was amazing. The pork was tender and scrumptious, and the soup base was sublime. <br/><br/>Definitely going to be a go-to for when I travel to Sydney.

Best ramen in Sydney so far 🤤. The broth is rich and full of flavours, the chasu is tender and juicy, the ramen is well-made. Cant even describe how tasty it is! Give it a try !!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Best ramen I’ve ever had in Sydney!! Thanks for the amazing staff and definitely will come back soon:) my friend and I love the black oil soup ramen!

I really enjoyed the ramen here. I ordered the yasaka ramen, and it was probably one of the cheaper ramen on their menu. Also the menu on here isn’t accurate to the pricing at the restaurant. It was however really great. The broth tasted fantastic - I had the tonkotsu shio broth I think, you can tell they put extra effort in making their broth. The noodles were just right. One of the best ramen I’ve had, it makes you feel at comfort esp since we went on a rainy day. <br/><br/>A HEADS UP: The only downside was the waiting time, although we were seated promptly, the wait for the ramen probably took 30minutes or more, which if we knew beforehand, we would’ve ate somewhere else and we were starving but I guess the ramen made up for the time we spent in there waiting. I would definitely come back because it was THAT good, but I want to try other ramen restaurants first.

Been there once with missus when she wanna try out the ramen broth which been mentioned by friend that it is good. <br/>Personally don’t really like it that much - broth flavour is way too strong which hurt my throat while swallow too much spoons. Gotta gulp down several glass of water to clear my throat. Noodles is a bit hard... maybe undercooked.<br/>A bit pricy too for a bowl of ramen which I can get a cheaper price elsewhere with nicer broth and better ramen textures. <br/>

Came here for a late dinner on Thursday night. Had the black garlic shoyu tsukemen with an egg. The soup was thick and flavourful. The noodles were thick and had a nice bite to it. The egg was perfectly cooked and the chashu was nice and tender. I had the regular portion, which was probably on the smaller side compared to some of the other ramen places. The amount of toppings was pretty generous for the serving size.

Last year when I would occasionally get a lift from uni to Town Hall, I would drive past this ramen place. I didn't even know it was a popular ramen joint in Sydney (I'm still 'under-educated' about Asian food in my home city). Got there on a Tuesday night at around 7pm and there was a line, but only about a 15-20min wait so not too long. I thought they only had downstairs bar seating, but turns out they have tables up stairs.
Crystal Ka
I like the thicker ramen noodles that they have - different from what you can get in Brisbane. Delicious and would visit again! Food took a while to come because they were so packed, so don't hold that against them.
Susan
3.5 if I could! Friendly service and good food. The spicy ramen broth was delicious served with thick ramen noodles. They don’t give much topping which is a little disappointing considering the amount you pay for and the serving size given. My chosen spice level was 1, but for those who KNOW (not think) they can eat chili maybe opt for 2. Miso broth was delicious and so was the shoyu.
JP
I had the signature ramen and for me the soup was too thick, I could not finish it. The meat was tender and sweet, but the combination with the soya based soup did not match well for my taste. The chicken karage was average.

I like this authentic little ramen place. I was craving for authentic ramen today and this place just gave me what I wanted! The light in flavour but rich in texture shio tonkotsu soup base just caters to my tastebuds. I think this is the Kansai specialty - flavorful but not overly salty. Both the black garlic shio ramen and yasaka shio ramen are tasty. The black garlic one is somehow refreshing yet still thick in texture. I will definitely come back to try other menu items with my friends. ごちそうさまでした。

Resultant of its high reviews on Zomato, I had decided myself to go ahead and try this place out - I am quite the ramen enthusiast. I had the Cha shu ramen. The broth was very unique, it was very thick and creamy which is unlike many other ramen places. I had a generous four slices of pork which was very tender and full of flavour. I had wish that they threw in an egg in there somewhere swapping out an extra pork slice for it. I also ordered the pork gyoza - failed to disappoint as well as failing to impress. Overall, it was a delightful experience.

The ramen broth was thicker than anticipated but a pleasant surprise. Had hoped the soft boiled egg packed a bit more flavour but overall a good dining experience!

Will come back for:<br/>+ Pork Gyoza<br/><br/>The rating reflects more on personal preference then necessary the food served. I had the Kakuni Ramen and the broth was good (flavorsome, rich and almost buttery). The pork soft bone in the ramen was a tad sweet for my liking though (I prefer a more savoury taste) again this is down to personal preference. The pork gyoza were great. Nicely charred on one side, and juicy and delicious on the inside. The green tea had a bit too much tea in it and became a little bitter unfortunately. Will be back to try some of the other ramens.

Yasaka Ramen is the home of authentic home-made Japanese ramen in Sydney 🍜. The noodles are made fresh in-store everyday to ensure the best quality noodles in each bowl. The chefs also use a special pressure cooker to create their tonkotsu soup, to extract the very best flavour out of the pork bones and meat.<br/><br/>While it seemed like Yasaka would be most famous for their tonkotsu ramen, it was their chicken ramen that I absolutely loved! My miso toripaitan 🐥 was the creamiest and milkiest broth ever, maybe because there was actual milk in there 🤣. Chicken flavour was rich and prominent so you knew there were heaps of bones used in the cooking process, and it wasn't so milky that you'd feel sick. Chicken pieces seemed to have been poached in seasoned milk, they were sooo smooth and juicy 😍, I've never had such good chicken in a noodle soup!<br/><br/>Ian's shio tonkotsu 🐷 with spare ribs was enjoyable. The broth wasn't the thickest or creamiest but somehow its lightness worked with the charred, fatty and crispy spare ribs.<br/><br/>#NoRamenNoLife, agreed whole-heartedly! 🤗🍜

One of my favorite go-to places for ramen and one of the best ramens in Sydney. Although it’s not as thick as some other ramen joints in Sydney, it is still considerably up there. Thick delicious soup coupled with either thick or thin noodles (I prefer thin). The tonkotsu is not too thick but not too light either which creates a perfect balance! The charshu is also grilled very nicely so that it melts in your mouth! I would recommend trying the Kakuni ramen, melted pork bone with delicious meat!

Delicious ramen in sydney. The pork and fish broth was delicious. The addition of fish gave it a nice salty umami flavour. Tomago was perfectly cooked. Good for people who like thicker broths. The chashu was nice but not the most tender. Personally would prefer if the noodles were thinner but still delicious with a nice chew. 4.5/5

Portion is very small. Even a standard ramen takes more than 30 minutes. Disappointed.<br/>Tasteless.. absolutely not worth the price ...<br/>Would not recommend or come here for a second time.

Arguably the best ramen spot in Sydney. A bit on the pricey side, but well worth it. The ramen itself is rich and the broth is thick. Usually a line to get in. Make sure you bring cash!

Tried to have dinner but was shoved to wait outside in the cold and rainy weather by one of the waitresses by pointing finger to outside the door with stern face and no single word. The restaurant was not even busy at the time.<br/>Not impressed and definitely not coming back regardless how good their ramen is. Not reflecting the Japanese politeness and courtesy at all.

I must say this is one of the best ramen place in town.<br/>The soup base is served with thick soup. Would recommend this one. The photo: Black Garlic Ramen. #NoRamenNoLife.

No ramen no life indeed! Best broth in Sydney! The noodle was al dente, perfectly cooked! We also ordered chicken karaage and it was not greasy. Love this place!
Sweet And Sour Fork
Starting off with the classics, we ordered a bowl of Egg Ramen ($16.8) in Tonkotsu Shoyu Base, which is basically your standard charshu ramen with an added egg. Now, whilst I could go ahead and describe the noodles or the toppings, the soup positively screams for attention. It is so thick with collagen that it felt like you’re half eating, half drinking it, the intense porkiness coating every single tastebud on its way down.

I had the original tonkotsu shoyu ramen with egg. It was absolutely fantastic! The noodles were perfectly cooked i.e. slightly chewy, and not overcooked at all. The broth was rich and flavourful and not too salty, which I preferred. All the toppings worked well with the noodles and broth. <br/>Also ordered the lotus chips which were a bit over seasoned. However, having a lotus chip for every couple of bites of ramen balanced out the saltiness. <br/>We went during lunch time and had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated, and another 15 for the food to come out. The floor (particularly upstairs) was sticky and slippery for some reason, so be careful when walking.<br/>Overall, portions were filling and delicious. Would return again.

Double Chasu (flamed) pork Ramen, Shio (salty) style is to die for. Whenever I’m in Sydney, Yasaka Ramen is a ‘try very hard to get there’ for me 😎🦊😎

After a tiring day we were in mood for ramen! We walked up to this street and we saw a huge line outside the restaurant. The waiting time was around half an hour. <br/>The interior is done well. There were counter-top seats facing the kitchen and a seating area on the first floor. The ramen was good. But I felt the floors were sticky. <br/>Overall, it was a good dinner.

A very popular ramen place. The ramen was really really fresh and actually the first ramen I have ever had that was not way too salty, so I could even have some ramen soup. Service was friendly but ramen came a bit slow. Portion was a bit small. Overall it tasted really really good.

Taste was very originally. Also can create your own soup type. Chashu was good enough to chewing. Recommended to try few more ramen from menu. Be ready with cash when you visit this place.

We came here coz craving ramen. Got a seat at the bar/kitchen area.<br/><br/>We ordered the chicken and lotus root chips for entree. The chicken was juicy but the lotus root is remarkable. It’s crispy, well seasoned and not too greasy.<br/><br/>For ramen, i got the kakuni shoyu and jasmine got the chashu shiyo. The soup was ultra thick, and hangs on the noodle very well. The noodle is well cooked and the kakuni melted in my mouth! It’s so delicious. <br/>Can’t wait to come back!!

Very rich quality soup base for the ramen. Can be wait for a long time but it’s worth. One of the best ramen place in Sydney CBD. Can be short of staffs so take longer time for get a seat or pay the bill.

Shoyu Kogane : 😁 Great<br/>Wagyu Beef Curry : 😍 Amazing <br/>Spare Ribs : 😁 Great<br/>Iced Lemon Tea : 😍 Amazing <br/><br/>This place was great. Polite and friendly staff as you would expect at every Japanese restaurant. I had the Kogane with Shoyu soup and it was so good! The chicken was so lean and it literally melted in my mouth. The Wagyu Beef Curry was one of the best that I’ve ever tasted. Great atmosphere and a great experience.

No ramen no life! Overall this is amazing place to go for ramen. Especially rainy days. The soup is so creamy and tasty. But the meat is a bit fat, I didn't even finish it coz of that. Btw, the floor is a bit slippery, so be careful don't fell down.

Best Ramen in Sydney. <br/>Sometime when I'm homesick I will go to eat Ramen over there. <br/>The noodle is fresh. different from other restaurant.

Love the ramen here. The ramen soup was so close to the style in Japan. Rich and full of flavor. The pork in ramen, after soaked in the flavorful soup, was also very tender. The service was nice. And they only accept cash.

Been to both the CBD and Neutral Bay restaurants.  I prefer the CBD for its location and 'live' atmosphere.  The house Yasaka Ramen is nice with a rice broth.  My favourite is the Kakuni Ramen which is hand chared.  The noodles are also hand made on site... Friendly and quick service.  Recommended...
