Review 678 Korean Bbq Restaurant - Sydney

Fresh, tasty, and could not be more authentic. After you scan the menu, you place your order on your own phone and shortly after you will begin seeing the various protein platters at your table. Ps: We liked that they replaced the coals halfway through our meal.

Wow-wa-wee-wa! The K-BBQ place is absolutely bustling and hustling on a Monday night! Made an online reservation for 6pm and the restaurant is already at 75% capacity when our entourage arrived. We left just before the 90 minute limit for consumption of tasty meats and K-salads, and by that time the place was maxxed out. Music is pretty loud to keep the young ones happy 😊. Service is good too. This restaurant is not a 6, 7 or 8 out of 10 but home run 10 out of 10!

Came for dinner with friends on a Tuesday night and it was super busy, definitely recommend making a reservation. Service was quick, food was delicious and there was a great atmosphere. Probably a bit more expensive than other buffet style KBBQs but still worth the visit. Lots of fun.

Had dinner the other day. Was on Saturday night, lucky we came early. Even though we haven’t made any booking but still be able to get a spot. They got crazy busy later on. Food was okay….just like every other Kbbq. Service was really quick though.

Delicious food and kbbq. It’s a noisy restaurant which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, just something you need to get used to. Favourite dish was the raw beef
Novita Tan
The best korean bbq I ever had, love the sauce, all you can eat salad and the friendly staff. Not only that, they give you free 1 delicious egg soup for every visit. Strategic location in the middle of the city I recommend the beef brisket, so yummy
Su Kim
Good korean restaurant. Generous servings of condiments. Fresh tasting kimchi. Get very busy after 530pm. Their reservation system on their website needs to be better, there were complaints about emails sent but not a confirmed reservation.
Jenny Deng
Barbecue was good. The raw beef salad and steamed egg were great too. We waited for a little while at the entrance but got a table soon after. It was good overall.

Nice food, a bit overpriced BUT rude and ignorant staff, throwing the dishes onto the table and taking forever to come, always acting like they were annoyed. Why treat your customers like they're bothering you when it's your job to at least give them a decent customer service? Don't recommend this place.
(now that I've read other people's previous reviews, it seems like this restaurant has been having an issue with their customer service for forever but nothing changes at all.)
Karen
I made a booking at 678 and arrived within the 10mins late policy yet when I had spoken to this guy who manages the front house, he looked at his time and said “your 1 minute late”. I thought that it was so rude. I experienced horrible customer service and to treat your customers like this makes me upset considering I like eating at 678. I wouldn’t recommend coming here anymore as their staff do not take care of you. We tried negotiating with him and he left for 10 mins, returned and I had to ask so what is happening? His response was, I gave your table away already without even telling us. Their priority isn’t to take care of people who book in advance ...
Came here on a Thursday night. Thought that it was quite expensive for what you get. The side dishes are quite limited and never refilled. I have heard that the more money you spend the greater the variety of side dishes but we spent $80 for 2 people and got barely anything. Definitely not as good as some competitors. The meat was fresh but by the time we had arrived they had already run out of many of the beef items. Overall quite disappointing and I wouldn't come back of my own accord.
Sylvia Pham
Great service! Good food! Meat was fresh! And perfect Friday night vibe to spend time with Soju, where I have not drink for so long!!!!!! Highly recommend the beef intestine! It was chewy and delicious! And got to love the kimchi fried rice on the side of the bbq!
Eunifoodie
Good quality and good variety of cuts and marinade options to choose from. They give you a decent amount of side dishes as well which is awesome. The staff is pretty ignorant though, there were many times where they noticed me asking for service but would just turn their heads and walk away. Despite the extreme lack of service here, it’s one of the better kbbq places in the city and a good place for a night out with friends.
Alex Hsu
Meat is definitely not the freshest, but the flavor is good. But the service is absolutely horrendous. I would avoid this place if u can.
John Andersons
The menu was too confusing. Had their all you can eat menu, but didn't know how much food we were getting and how much extra we can get. The meat quality was ok. Marinated meats were too salty.
Jon C
We arrived to a 30 min wait time for a table. They tried to squeeze us in to a small table shared with other people. We spent on average $40 per person. We ordered their wagyu beef items including the marinated wagyu cube roll.

What we get does not look like a wagyu cube roll at all. Looks more like a plate of marinated off cuts and was very chewy and highly unlikely to be wagyu beef. Meat quality and product name definitely does not match with what they’re actually selling on their menu.

Not to mention the wait staff service was second rate. Definitely a disappointing dining experience.

Xihuahua 🐶 recommended this place. They do have really great meat! Somehow their meat tastes better than many other Korean bbq in Sydney. The price is competitive too. Their bimbimbab with spicy pork is a hit! Not heavily seasoned and great mixture of veg. Beef miso soup also has half crab and clams... ok? But the soup tasted great, not fishy at all! Their free side dishes are pretty standard. Not much to say. Service is a bit sluggish. Their staff work fast yet they struggle to keep up. You can tell they are under staffed when the work force got no smile.

It might be a little pricey compared to other Korean BBQs in the CBD but the meat is high quality. It was really busy when we went so be prepared to wait. Really good range of food and Soju options!

The restaurant is easy to find. The side dishes are very good and have different kinds. It is always one of my favorite Korean bbq in sydney.

678 is my favourite KBBQ place in the CBD. The variety of meats/dishes are not as extensive as say, an all you can eat KBBQ buffet, but 678 prides themselves on quality. A little bit different to a lot of KBBQ places, you order by ticking the meats/dishes you want on a piece of paper and give it back to the waiter/waitress. My favourite dishes are pork belly, beef brisket, beef sashimi and cold noodles! As you'll see, the price is definitely quite expensive but I think it's really worth it, as long as you're not going religiously and breaking bank. 678 also offers steamed egg as a side which I haven't experienced at any many other places. The staff are also super friendly here and they serve different flavour soju - great for a celebration. 678 is extremely busy on the weekends so make sure you book, otherwise go early in the evening or expect to wait up to an hour or two. Can't wait to go back!!

The service and food were excellent. But unfortunately, the manager(old man with glasses) was being so rude to the staff. He yelled the staff infront of the customer and it’s so unconfortable to see. I wish that the manager could be more professional on doing his job. I would never come back for sure!
Bellamonicawistan
the food and service is good but i felt uncomfortable because i heard the uncle from the restaurant , he is yelling at the employee in front of many customer and he is not supposed to do that because he ruins the whole mood.
Gloria
Polite and prompt service, we didn’t need to wait and got a table straight away, it was about 6 in the evening. We ordered pork belly and wagyu beef, the meat is pretty high quality and it came with a few side dishes, their kimchi I have to say was pretty good, and the steam egg as well. If I live in Sydney I would come back.
Jason Jane
My girlfriend and I went to 678 for the 2nd time to celebrate our anniversary, unfortunately, we will not be going back. The service and the taste of the meat dishes was fine however we were very disappointed by the price and the low quality of some of the other dishes.

For example, the seafood soondubu was one of the worst ones I ever had with a few small pieces of clams and an overcooked piece of crab. The soup has no depth of seafood flavor (I've had this exact dish in the US and South Korea many times). The seafood pancake had some small pieces of calamari in it which definitely doesn't qualify as a "seafood" pancake in my humble opinion. The prices charged for these 2 dishes are definitely not worth it. If you do come here, stick to the meat dishes only.
Caroline
Took us sometime to find the restaurant as it is located on first floor. The bbq meat was pretty average, unfortunately meat quality isn’t as great as expected. However, their yukhoe is very delicious and bibimnaegmyeon is very satisfying also.
Big Food Lover
tried here with big family of 13, booked the place so we don't need to queue up. ordered the beef galbi, pork neck and pork belly. beef galbi and pork neck was great, tender and tasty. the pork belly, however are a bit smelly. also unfortunately this place don't serve the regular korean bbq menu like jap chae and bibimbap.

This is a famous Korean BBQ restaurant on Pitt street. We took some time to look for it. And finally we found it on level 1 of the building, where you need to take a lift to get access to it.

We experienced a long queue for the first time. The staff told us that we have to wait at least for 30 minutes to get a seat. Finally we give up and turn to another restaurant.

The second time was at around 9PM on Sunday. The customers are not as many as last time, and surprisingly there’re a lot of empty seats. However we were asked to leave at 10.30PM when the shop starts to close down.

[Thinly sliced beef tongue] 🐂$22
It is a must try. For $22 you got a big plate of beef tongue, which is super delicious and does not need a long time cooking on the plate.

[Prime Pork Jowl Cut] 🐷$21
Oily and delicious pork jowl. If you like tight pork then it is the one you should choose.

[Spicy seafood & soft tofu stew] 🦀️$17
It is not as spicy as we expected. The seafood such as crab and clams are not very fresh.

[Old time Korean lunch box] 🍱$14
If you’re single and looking for lunch then it is the right choice. It is a small box containing both marinated cooked meat and vegetables. And it’s nice to mix with rice.

We had some trouble with the card payments. The staff was careless enough and clicked the “decline” button on the POS machine. However the actual balance was deducted. Finally we figured it out but it is not a very happy experience.

One of my favourite Korean BBQs in the CBD. Meats are so good and service is fast. Be prepared to wait if you are going there on a Friday night or weekend as it gets very busy!

Relatively pricey but for a good reason. Favourite Korean BBQ spot in the city and despite being always packed, it's always a worthwhile wait.
Jamescomedywang
The food was much better than average. But I have to say something wired I experienced here. Could anybody believes that the customers beside you stealing food from your table??? Then they even asked me do I want their noodles because they didn’t like it and described it as “shit”. So they don’t eat shit but they asked me if I want to?! I feel soooo offensive and I have reason to believe they are stupid racists! So, I must say this is a good place and I will come back again, but I really had a disappointed experience here too!!!!
Annee
Absolute favourite kbbq in the cbd.

The meat is always on point, service is good and food comes fast.

Keep up the good work!!

Will upload photos once found x

678 Korean BBQ is one of my most frequented Korean BBQ restaurants in Sydney CBD. My favourite dish would be the marinated beef ribs, will come back again for sure!

We always have an epic feast at the amazing authentic Korean BBQ Restaurant in Sydney! Thanks for the invite @qtix and @678 for having us!
A must try is the Wagyu steak you need to have a look at that marbling on that Wagyu steak! Every dish from this restaurant is absolutely delicious and we were so happy we were able to try some of the mains and side dishes along with a very very tasty BBQ
Mary Tran
Ordering off the menu was very simple, and staff were prompt. We got the wagyu oyster blade, brisket and rib finger. Meat was soft and quality was quite good. Bbq comes with complimentary egg and cheese corn, however it’s an extra $3 for refills. Side dishes simple but a perfect to condiment with bbq. There’s a refill station for sides which is very convenient for busier times.

As an avid fan of KBBQ, after Queen V took me to 678 at Eastwood, I knew I was hooked. Having heard of their other store at Haymarket in the CBD, Iron Fist and I decided to go check it out. With a reputation like 678 (apparently even Kpop stars come here to get their bbq fix), I knew that I had to book online. Thank goodness I did, as the line up was insane. Being situated at level one of a commercial building made it difficult for us to spot on the street, but we managed to get there at our reservation time of 6.30pm.

We love a good BBQ – whether it be in our own backyard with a sausage & a few prawns or at a restaurant, we’ll be there. So, of course we were keen to visit 678 Korean BBQ in the Sydney CBD for a feed. Attending with a group of foodie pals, we were able to try a range of dishes amongst us, beginning with the ban Chan (appetisers).

Waited for 1hr & 45mins for a table for 5 people. They didn't allow for booking, so my friends turned up at 6:30 to start queuing, they have this system where you enter your name onto the phone in the counter, but they don't seem to seat people by the order of the queue on the phone. By about 7:35 we can see there was a table free right by front near where we were waiting, but left empty. We flagged down the guy running around from the counter & asked how long it was to us, he didn't know, as they were waiting for a big table to free up. We asked whether we can take the empty table & just squeeze 3 ppl on one side. They let us, but took another 10mins to set up. Once we were seated the side Food & other turned up very quick, service at the table was prompt. The BBQ food were good. My friend loved the steamed egg. The cooked food was average. The house made ssamjang sauce was a hit. However good the food was it really wasn't worth waiting this long for. Not keen to rush back anytime soon.

Coming here at lunch hour on a Sunday and not having to queue was amazing. It was only my second visit and I forgot how little options this place had. There wasn’t much variety to choose from the menu which has its pros and cons. First of all, knowing that this place has good quality cuts of meat is a plus but the fact that they did not have tteokbokki or even seafood pancake…I was disappointed.
Hayley
Good customer service and ambience but the portion was quite small. The taste of cold noodle was not satisfying unfortuantely. Marinated pork galbi was good tho. Overall it was not too bad!

This 678 location is my go to place whenever I do come up to sydney.
Always a great services and the staff are very friendly and will always try to cater to their customers.
The food is amazing as always and my favourite dish would be the egg soup. They're delicate, fluffy and flavourful yet they sell it for sooooo cheap!
Now onto the BBQ part, i love how its cooked with the charcoal method, gives it a better bbq experience and taste. Favourite meat woulds hands down be the ox tongue. Also it's cut so thin, it cooks so fast that we don't have to be sitting there and waiting for it. They also provide a great amount of side dishes which I absolutely love, especially with the leaves platter. It makes it more enjoyable being able to make wraps with the leaves (lettuce, perilla leaves etc..) and been given a great amount of sides makes my expenses worth it in the end.

It tends to get busy especially during dinner, however I've never had to wait whether i came in for lunch or dinner! Whenever I comes up, 678 always gets my appetite keen as I always go there first thing once i'm off that plane!
Sam Heiligers
My favorite Korean BBQ in Sydney. Have been coming here with friends and colleagues for a couple of year. Great quality meat and food. Pork belly is always dynamite. Big restaurant so good for big groups.
Vivian Lam
Great place for a nice korean bbq. Meat is of high quality and therefore you'll be expected to pay a little more than usual. However it really worths it.

Egg pot was great. Complimentary to the meal you ordering.
CQL
We were having bbq here, it was quite a queue to get the seats. The wagyu was tender and yummy, as well with the porks, it tasted very delicious with the sauce . They had flavor soju here as well. Service was quite fast.
Thepantstent
A nice place for korean food. Their stews are really nice and hearty. I particularly like their seafood stew which is filled with swimmer crab and pipis.

The BBQ here is pretty good, the meat is of good quality. I like that they give you a lot of lettuce wraps. Service is top notch. Thumbs up.

I can not fathom how horrible the service is at 678. We arrived at 8:10pm and we ordered our food. We had to wait 1 hour for our charcoal to come out despite asking several times. Not only did we have to wait for the charcoal but we had to ask for our rice more than 5 times. Although we were seated first, multiple tables after us got all their things much faster than us just because they could communicate to the workers in Korean. Portions were small and over priced. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Save your time and money and go to jang ta bal in Strathfield.

One of the best Korean Barbecue I have ever had. amazing food and the wait staff were extremely polite and the fast with everything. Meet quality is superb .definitely I will be back and in terms of money it was pretty good

One of the best places I’ve visited for dinner!

Love the atmosphere and vibe of Korean bbq. We came here on a Friday night and by six it was already buzzing with customers. Put our names down and waited about fifteen-twenty minutes before getting seated at a booth.

Service was quick and friendly, and a small variety of dishes to choose from. It was my friends first time at a korean bbq so we just chose some simple beef dishes to cook on the grill. We were provided with lots of side dishes such as kimchi, mushroom and salad and many more!

Overall a wonderful experience and would strongly recommend coming here!

Food recommendation: the thinly sliced wagyu brisket (simple but when seasoned with salt and coated with the chilli sauce😍😍)
Hippokathy88
Don't be fooled by the lack of ground-floor entrance. As soon as the elevator doors open to @678Sydney on level 1, you're entering a whole new world 🇰🇷⚗️🔥, full of smokey and #KoreanBBQ goodness.

We ordered 3 things to share and out came an array of side dishes. We've learnt to cook ox tongue 🐂🤤 rare over the years and these slices could not be more buttery and tender. I wrapped few pieces with the lettuce provided and the beef flavour still shone through amongst them green leaves. Chilli-marinated pork belly 🐖😘 packed a punch and went extremely well with the ssam dip. We loved the Wagyu beef ribs 🐄😍 the most, long ribbon of meat wrapped around a single bone. Cooked that rare over charcoal and it just melted in our mouths.

If you're in the city and after some good Korean BBQ, 678 is the place to be!
Joan Parami
One of the best Korean bbqs ive ever had. Reminded me so much of my trip in Seoul where the bbq tastes just as good! Id definitely go back to this place again and order more wagyu beef! 😍
Elaine Cheng
Amazing food and the wait staff were extremely polite and fast with everything. Unfortunately the only flaw was the host that greeted me at the front desk when I asked about my reservation. I had called the number on their website listed under ‘Sydney CBD’ and someone had picked up the phone to take my booking. The host told me very rudely that I made a mistake and called the Eastwood store and instead of offering a solution, continued to berate me and cut me off. Extremely rude and unpleasant.
Lyss Tan
Was gonna rate 1 star but decided to give another star cause the food tasted alright. Seriously tho, staff looked like they all wanted to die (whack communication skills too), portions were way too small for the price we had to pay, menu lacked variety. Basically just trust me and go to Madang for good KBBQ in Sydney.
Culinary Artist
One of the best Korean BBQ in town!
Side dish was generous!
Meat quality is superb
The steam egg was awesome, light and fluffy!
Need to come back to different branch
Vinno99
Had dinner here with 10 friends and enjoyed the food. However there was a extreme lack of service and we constantly had to ask for our drinks and side dishes/rice. Was quite disappointed after they came to extinguish our charcoal BBQ with water and all the ashes sprayed up all over our meat and side dishes. They didn't offer to replace our meat, and only changed dishes after we requested it. As a result we ended up ordering more meat at out own expense. Have been to the Eastwood branch a couple of times with no problems. Would recommend going to any of the other great KBBQ's up the road or going to the Eastwood branch if you really want to try this restaurant.

Korea cuisine, u need come early and marked your name for line up waiting for seat . If not will wait so long . Ok so the customer service not bad , and the service is good . And the food is tasty , overall everything is fine , price is reasonable . Thumbs up
Gideon Setyawan
Had dinner here with family. It was really amazing dinner. The marinated beef was really tasty and tender. The service was pretty good, they happily top up the side dish for us, and change the grill net every time we finish each meat. The korean old time box was pretty good, it was similar to bibimbap! Definitely will be back and in terms of money it was pretty good $123 for 6 people (4 meat and 1 lunch box)
Chey_ct
Been here countless of times and the service ranges from pretty much non-existent to the staff cooking for us and replenishing the veg as soon as it finishes. But what's always consistent is the quality of the food and especially the meat. Definitely one of my top places in Sydney! Be prepared to queue though. No matter what time we show up, there are always people waiting for a table. Oh and it's a guarantee your clothes will smell when you get out of there!

I booked a table for 11 on a Saturday night. I was pretty keen because I'd previously visited a few times before and their food was decent if a little pricey. I was willing to splurge however since it was for my birthday. I arrived at 8:10pm for an 8pm booking and waited a few minutes for their register to finish settling a bill before attending to me. Disregarding the fact that I was technically on time for my booking if it wasn't for their lack of service, I accept that it was my fault that I forgot they "don't hold tables after 10 minutes". However, my gripe with them is that their policy is a "first priority" booking system. Which means that they only set up tables when our group arrives. Which means it's NOT like they had a large table sitting empty for 12 minutes. Which means it's hardly unreasonable to ask that they cut us some slack and honour our booking - it's not like we were unwilling to wait.
They were completely inflexible, didn't offer any alternatives at all and just pointed at "8:12pm" again and again. They obviously don't need our business since they are quite popular, but it speaks to their customer service and lack of empathy that they would turn away a group of people who were willing to wait over a small technicality.
Lien Nguyen
678 is one of the best KBBQ places I’ve been to I Sydney! There’s a wait for tables if you don’t have a reservation, so make sure you have one for big groups! They won’t seat you either until you have at least 80% of your party. They have a good menu here, and the meats are really good quality cuts! One downside is that the service may be a bit slow (Atleast for us), for our table of 8. We waited for maybe 20 or so minutes before our food was brought out after we ordered.
Kristen Chan
My favourite place for KBBQ in Sydney! The meat is always marinated and flavoured well, the best value for money in my opinion out of all the nearby KBBQ spots. Good experience and great service
@KeraBearEats
I've come here for dinner a few times now, absolutely love this place.

Come early if you don't have a booking, otherwise you may be in for a long wait!

The meat here is sensational. The $39 plate of Wagyu cuts are THE BEST, well worth the money. We also like the Pork belly, the Short Rib, and the Ox Tongue (this one comes frozen though).
Hayley
Come here early or make a booking! The line from 7 is impossible! Wide variety of meat and noodles, but not so much anything else for dinner.

We got ox tongue, pork neck and marinated beef short rib. All the meats are flavourful and ridiculously tender! They also provide a lot of condiments. It’s a charcoal fire, which results in smokey meat. Loved it!
It’s a little more expensive than other kbbq places, but it’s worth it.
Lily
Incredibly busy place, do make reservations first! Given it is such a busy place, service was reasonably prompt and friendly! Everything that we ordered ranging from bbq meat, cold noodles, steam egg, seafood stew and the side dishes, they were all delicious. The menu is very extensive and I would actually come back again to try other items on the menu!
Filofoodie
Went on a Friday night and good thing we booked a table because the place was packed by 6:30 pm
There was a 90 minutes limit so if you want to order a lot you better eat fast.
Although the dishes were expensive, you get the vest quality for what you paid for.
We got mainly the not marinated meats and it still tasted really good
Overall good experience with quick service as there are a lot of staff walking around
MizTea_SydneyFoodCritiX
Awesome range, pretty good service and good price. This was a spur of the moment to dine here. Surprised we didn't have to have a booking. I wish there were more places like this closer to home
E
Got into the restaurant and put myself on the wait list and got my confirmation text message that I would be notified when there was a table. Waited just over one hour nearby the restaurant in World Square. Without a text, I went back to check and for some reason my name was no longer on the wait list. Besides the troubles of trying to get a table here it was an okay night. Service is frantic and their staff can bearly understand you (I asked for extra chopsticks and got given clipper to grab meat with), at least they were super nice and all smiles. Meats were really fresh and they have great sides. The salads were very crisp and clean. A stand out was their steamed egg dish, it was delicious.

Whole family’s fave! The meats always fresh and tender.. juicy and tasty!!! Love their side dishes..💕 their Tofu and seafood soup also nice!! Spicy!

We go to 678 every time when we're in Sydney. Have always loved the food there. We made a reservation today for 11 people. 4 of us arrived 15 minutes early and the manager advised us to take a seat. 15 minutes later we were wondering where our table was. We asked the manager again if we could get the table as we wanted to order food and our friends are running late. There were plenty of empty tables around. He refused to provide us with the table without the rest of our friends there. What is the bloody point of making a reservation if you are not gonna provide us with the table? You've disappointed me and my friends who have never been there, and will definitely not be coming back.
Kravengerfoodie
Food: portion is huge and the quality of meat is very good. Super value for many if you compare to other Korean BBQ places in cbd. Meat is always fresh and generous with their side dishes.

Ambiance: a bit smoky and you'll leave the place smelling like Korean BBQ. It's indoor with air condition. Perfect for large groups

Service: can be slow when busy.
Cathy Nu
My friends and I went to the 678 KBBQ at Eastwood for her birthday. She had made a prior reservation and specifically asked for the BTS wall and said that we would arrive at 12. They said that they would give us that spot. However, when we arrived and told them we had a reservation at the BTS wall, we were told the spot was taken. No apologies or anything, they took us to a different table and they were acting as if it was no biggie and it was our problem, but we had made a reservation and they should have been more organised. We ended up leaving and coming back at 1pm for the table, and the food was reallly good, delicious with many nice sides. The service was fast but the staff did not attempt to make any customer interaction, and from their body language, all of my friends and I felt as though they were rude, mean and impatient, especially when one of the staff came to change our grill and was being impatient while my friend was taking the meats off the grill. The bad customer service made our experience not entirely great. I hope that 678 spends more time retraining/training their staff on customer service because it seemed as though the staff didn't want to be there, and were just sad in general.
Not A Foodie
Waited for 15 mins to be seated while front reception sorting out aprons. Seated with a set of cutlery missing no water provided, no pencil to write down orders. Neglected for another 30 minutes. Staff have no clue what’s going on!
Lindawati Tjioe
The best korean BBQ that I’ve ever had in Sydney. I love the ox tounge, marinated beef ribs, and also thy spicy marinated pork. The services are satisfying as well. Never fail to make me want to going back again and again and again. Glad to know that such restaurants is exist.
Truman Tang
Easily beats any KBBQ in Melb where I am unfortunately based. Wait staff were extremely efficient and friendly, side dishes came literally AS we sat down, refills without asking... Great quality wagyu, steamed egg and pork belly. Efficient waiting system, fairly priced, would come again
Iamhungry
Portions are smaller$21 for a small piece of meat. The staff are unbelievably rude and dismissive. Came in on Sat night, the place was full, understand that there might be some delay in service, but it's just ridiculous to wait for 10 mins of frantic waving before being acknowledged. I'm sorry you have lost me!
Marvin Ding
Attentive staffs, quick service, food was awesome, good atmosphere. Overall the food was very fresh and we didn't need to wait too long for our food to arrive even though the restaurant was fully packed. At the end of the way, my money is worth spent
Jason Bath
Went here with a group of friends - Good food, great atmosphere. Really enjoyed the the chicken and beef. Price was also reasonably cheap.
Service was alright.
Sophia Song
The quantity deceased a lot. We order the marinated beef, which is too sweet. It was not like the one I tried at the beginning of open. So disappointed.
Andy Trieu
Arguably the most popular korean BBQ. Kpop stars have been known to stop by and eat when they are in town. More on the expensive side but you are paying for quality. Great setting and dinner vibe - service is also quite good. IT GETS BUSY THOUGH. Expect to wait for 30 min + from Friday.
Vania Margareta
food is quite good but the service is so so bad. we ordered yakult soju and they actually dont have that on the menu but they dont say that they dont have yakult soju instead they gave us apple soju 🙃 when we ask for tissue the waitress was like not listening and didnt nod or give us eye contact at all. Ive never went to a restaurant with a service as bad as this. so dissapointing.

The steamed egg here tho 😍👌
3rd time being here. Got here at 6:30pm in which a small line had formed. I didn't realise they had changed the queuing system. When you first walk in, head to your right where the register area is and place yourself and your party on an online queuing system. Once we received a text that our table was ready, we were shown to our table which was already set with cutlery, cups and sides. The electronic system seemed quite efficient but get here early there was a large line that had formed after we were mid way through our BBQ and it was a Monday night.

To order there is a sheet of paper with all the items that you can pick and you just write the quantities in the little square box and hand it to the staff member. We ordered between 3 people: 2 x rice, fresh prime cut of pork belly, marinated wagyu sirloin and a plate of a type of wagyu beef. I would probably go for 4-5 plates of meat to be full satisfied or more if you're hungry. The total ended up being $77.

Off the bat when the plates of meat came, I was instantly disappointed as the portion was tiny. I didn't remember it being such a small portion from before and other Korean BBQ places have larger portions. Nevertheless, the meats tasted very good and we enjoyed all 3 of them. They also give you a complementary steamed egg which none of the Korean BBQ places I have been to give it for free or even have it on their menus. That steamed egg, while it was simple tasted so good.

There wasn't a large selection of items you can choose from such as chicken or any other types of meat. It was pretty much strictly Korean BBQ so you can't order other dishes such as seafood pancake. The service is usually just a few nods but it is a busy restaurant so keep that in mind.

I had a good experience there at 678. Good atmosphere and food was great. Great meat and side dishes. Great ventilation system. I would revisit the place again.

Pretty nice. After all it's BBQ hard to go wrong as long as you provide quality beef. Gets a lot of publicity from being run by a famous comedian.

678 Korean BBQ is a Korean BBQ in Chinatown which is popular for their generous number of sides including kimchi (I had three servings), pickled radish and steamed egg custards. The modern restaurant at the corner of Pitt Street and Golbourn Street features an interior with clean lines, wooden tables and cement flooring. The lively and vibrant atmosphere is a stark contrast to several others in Chinatown.

There was a short queue of 15 other diners when I arrived at the restaurant. I registered myself with an automated queuing system near the reception and wandered off to the bar next door for a quick drink. After 10-15 minutes, I received a notification from the restaurant that my place was ready. That was pretty fast!

I ordered beef slices and pork neck for my barbecue and helped myself to the sides. There was nothing exceptional about the sides. I still remembered good old days of Doma Hongdae, Samwon Garden and Maple Tree House in Seoul where the sides were extraordinary and affordable.

The pork neck was a chunk of unevenly cut pork meat whereas the sliced beef was full of rare smell. Both tasted ordinary and could be better if they were lightly salted or properly cut. There was absolutely nothing spectacular about the BBQ. Like numerous other joints, it probably is a good place to meet up with friends rather than an institution which focuses on its food.

678 meets all my expectations for korean BBQ. Perfectly marinated meat, good selection of side dishes and alcohol. If you are looking for a place to eat korean BBQ, 678 is definitely the place you cannot miss. Their wagyu steak was outstanding and dont forget to try the egg soup! The restaurant is very clean and service was good too.

Best Korean BBQ, can't beat a good BBQ on hot charcoal. Great variety of sides - free egg soup is the best. Between 2 people we usually get 2 plates of meat and a main on the side and costs around $50-60. Fresh ingredients and good quality meat so you price is pretty reasonable.

Nice BBQ in Sydney!!!! beautiful beef and pork belly~ The price is higher than regular restaurant in city, but always good experience!!!! A good choose for family and group dinner. I love some restaurants can close late until midnight!!!!!

The service was impeccable! Before going I didn't realise they flipped the meat for you, which is unlike the other KBBQs i've gone to so that was a welcome change. The staff were really accommodating and efficient and so helpful at deciding what dishes to get. Would recommend sharing the a couple combination set between friends and getting an extra plate of marinated pork ribs- absolutely delicious!Honestly had a great time at YSP and will definitely start frequenting, especially since it's so well priced!

I will definitely give full marks and here s the reason. I'm a wagyu beef lover and I pretty much try all Korean/Japanese BBQ in sydney. 678 is definitely worth the money you pay for the meat you got. Quality of their wagyu beef are pretty consistent (I come 678 every fortnight ). And the presenting and quality of their side dishes are in particular nice in this price range. Regardless they do have some weird rules , but that doesn't bother me any.

This place is always noisy, busy and energetic during dinner time each time we go and the waiting is sometimes so long that the hunger disappears. Service is sometimes slow and staff are sometimes 'forgetful' or delay in bringing orders of food. The price range is quite decent if eating out with a group. Other than that, it's a very lively restaurant and food quality is quite good. (≧∇≦)/

Best side dishes and affordable KBBQ. Would Defs come again and there's always plenty of staff to attend to you. Only problem is there is always a huge line. They've started an electronic ticketing system so arrive early to get ticket then wait :-)

Warehouse environment, with a cool booking/queuing system where you register your spot online.
Loved the banchan provided and the waiters were prompt with refilling them.
Meat selection was excellent as expected, however, I don't feel the pricing is justifiable. Some of the wagyu dishes are around $10 overpriced.
My friend and I spent $150 here and still weren't fully satiated.
Overall, great atmosphere, service and food, just a bit overpriced.

I've been this restaurant regularly over 2years. I spend about $200 each time. No fussy, no complain whatever I got from them. Even thou I found a piece of bolt from the pot in my mouth or they had no meats which were on the menu. I still was a customer.
Today we got there at 10.50am which was 10mins earlier than they open. The door was opening. A waitress let us sit at a table until someone from the kitchen(manager?) told her to kick us out in the pouring rain. I asked her once again if we could just waited there. 'No' from them. Moreover they wanted us to come back later than 11o'clock.
We NEVER gonna go back there.

Now this is value for money. This is definitely my new favourite Korean BBQ. The wagyu is quality meat. Not like the off cuts of wagyu you get at the other Korean BBQs. This is a whole wagyu steak. Melt in your mouth kinda meat. Very impressed by the quality of the meats on offer and variety of the menu. The egg soup is to die for and it's only $2. Keep them coming!! They also have flavoured soju. However, not much ventilation inside the restaurant. You also only get 2 hours of eating time. And don't forget to book! This place gets hell busy.

678 is already popular with the locals since its opening late January this year. Despite arriving for a slightly early dinner, the restaurant had reached capacity by the time we were finishing our meal. For a space which reminded me a little of a refurbished warehouse, that was no easy task!. As soon as we were seated, the infamous KBBQ condiments quickly filled our table. Coals for the hot plate followed soon after and it wasn’t long before we started cooking.

Service was actually pretty good!!! The food was nice as well, at a reasonable price!!! Worth a try for Korean food lover. But always feel Korean food are quite similar tho.

Extremely recommend this place for KOREAN BBQ LOVER!👍
I have been here twice times because my friend likes this restaurant.
This time we tried /beef tongue/, which surprised us by its size. That' totally enough for four people to enjoy! I advise that the time for grill beef tongue should not be so long cause it will become tough and chewy.
It is amazing that there are plenty of side dishes offered which makes me feel like I ordered many dishes.
/Cold noodle/is one of my favourite. It cooled down the melting feeling of the grill charcoal and also make you feel nice and cool while having grilled meat.

KOREAN BBQ NINJA

One of the best Korean BBQ in Sydney, so good that Kpop idols visit here when they visit Sydney!

Delicious sides, meats and seafood on offer here, everything grilled with charcoal. Service and staff are really nice, the downfall is the line is always long but they offer a Queuing up system with an app which makes life more easier.

Until next time ... Keep eating!!

It is a franchise and owned by a Korean TV star. We went on Friday night as a group of three, it was busy but hopefully we had a booking start at 630pm. The table size is very limited, you would have to rush eating your food before the next order can be placed on the table. Meats are quite expensive, you do not get a good portion per order. We ordered around 6 plates of meats and still felt hungry, the total bill for us was 300+, although the quality of meats are above the average but I do not feel it is worth the money.
