Review Radley's Metcentre - Sydney

Fantastic Salads, super cheap and tasty. Always glad to see a new lunch option pop up in Wynyard. Great Value & service, will be back to try out their burgers!

Building upon the success of their initial Chatswood outlet, Radley’s Rotisserie Chicken & Burgers have opened their second store in the MetCentre Sydney. While the focus here is still on perfecting and professionalising the humble chicken shop of your childhood memories, Jason Pope and his team have added on a few extras aimed at pleasing us demanding city-types. For starters, there’s a bar, offering up a succinct list of eight classic cocktails, a page of cuisine appropriate wines, plus spirits and beers, including three on-tap selections. The bar has wonderful views of Harry Seidler’s Australia Square – so as you sip on your after-work Negroni ($15), you can marvel at what a future facing design it must have been back in 1967. Even better, you can take your Moscow Mule ($15) out onto the leafy green terrace that – when Gladys Berejiklian finally delivers on her tardy light rail – will be a lovely place to hover over the George Street pedestrian zone with a beverage or two. To lubricate proceedings with your work colleagues at the end of the work day, Radley’s are kicking off with a three-hour Happy Hour from 4pm-7pm. While I could have knocked over a six-buck schooner or an eight-buck wine, I stuck to cocktails on my recent visit, knocking over a classy Manhattan ($15) while my dining companion got up close and personal with a towering, frozen Margarita ($15). There’s also a bar snacks menu to ensure nobody gets too loose and spills all the company secrets. Semolina-dusted Haloumi Fries ($10) dragged through Radley's house-made tomato chutney are a given. What's not to like about fat fingers of golden, deep-fried cheese? Clean, non-oily Sweet Potato Fries ($10) have some retro Aussie charm against a pot of sweet chilli and sour cream that – despite my well-documented preference for spicy chilli sauces – I keep coming back to. For something more modern, the Chicken Wings ($12) here have been given a Korean-style twist with a gochujang marinade. I enjoyed eating them without any additional dipping, so I’m not entirely convinced the sticky, sweet and spicy wings need the similarly themed dipping sauce. You can also take things family-style with a generous oven-baked Mac’n’Cheese ($20) that’s been given a Radley’s twist with a buttermilk fried chicken topper. This is classic comfort food - it’s creamy and gooey with long strands of melted cheese to contend with; and you’re going to love every second of it! Radley’s Platter ($50) is a good four-way sharing option, with each diner getting their own crispy chicken kimchi slider with cheese (one of my favourites at their Chatswood store) and char-grilled beef taco. Loaded up with a generous amount of beef fingers that are blackened on the outside and pleasantly pink within, these tacos a real highlight. Simple accompaniments - caramelised onions, guacamole, salsa, fresh coriander and salad fixings - help to keep the focus on the flavour of the 100-day grain-fed black Angus beef. The platter also comes with chips, something to dip them in, and a plate of oven-baked nachos, ensuring everyone gets a decent feed for their $12.50 platter buy-in. This represents ripper value for the Sydney’s often-overpriced CBD! This new restaurant is only three weeks into their MetCentre tenure, so I expect the Radley’s formula to continue to refine as they get to know their corporate neighbours, like the tenants of that dazzling Australia Square.

Mac & Cheese topped with Southern Fried Chicken @radleysaustralia !!! Name a stronger cheatday comfort food combo ! Calories don't count on days end with '-y', so Hi don't go just RUN FOR IT! When I know @radleysaustralia offers AYCE nachos, fries, haloumi, sliders and wings for just $25 on every Monday, Tuesday and Saturday, the five fully scheduled working days don’t seem to be that hopeless to me anymore! Good food always has its magical healing power, even stronger with cheap price!

Radley's is a new bar and restaurant in the heart of the city, locted in the Met Centre. It is a slick operation that is ready to cater to the masses. The set up is clean and modern with an alfresco balcony with an outlook over the busy George St. Ideal for a pitstop for breakfast or lunch. At night, it is an ideal bar to unwind after work, the menu is particularly geared for groups with some great value share platters. The warm weather and daylight savings made it the perfect place to enjoy a few after work beverages, with happy hour running from 4pm-7pm daily. The cocktail list loaded with classics; Manhattan's, Cosmopolitan's mojito's and more. The wine list lined with quality, all wines rated higher than 90 points, there are a few quality beers on tap including the Panhead XPA and a variety of bottles to choose from. A lot of thought has gone into this bar menu, it's a top drinking menu. There are plenty of great snacks to share including sweet potato fries, the finger lickin crispy Korean fried chicken, sweet potato fries, the haloumi fries are something special, as are the chips which they have perfected to a science. For something more substantial there is the mac n cheese topped fried chicken and chipotle mayo to finish. This is unreal! The sharing platters are great value $50 dollars to feed four, works out to $12.50 each. This platter includes the crazy good buttermilk fried chicken and Kim Chi sliders on a french milk bun, the prime rib tacos which are closer to burrito size, their perfectly cooked chips with chicken salt and nachos, loaded with cheese, guacamole, chuncky salsa and sour cream. Having tuned their bar and restaurant skills in Singapore, they’re now bringing that experience to Sydney. Add this joint to your list of bar eats. Radley's provides the ideal venue for a casual bite to eat and a few cheeky beverages.

Average tacos, I ordered the one with schnitzel. The second tacos we ordered arrived after a while, even if it was not busy. I’ve seen dishes on other tables who looked nicer. Service was ok.

Vegan Burger I tried the vegan burger with gluten free(standard) bun and chips for a crazy $12! You can also opt for roast veg or salad instead of chips for an extra $2.50. It was pretty good. I was very happy with their gf buns as it didn't feel or taste like one. Fillings were freshly made, telling by the amount of juice that dripped out of the burger. The venue is brightly lit with its 2 storey windows, indoor and outdoor seating and jackhammering in the background from surrounding construction. There's also a bar and I can imagine it is a great spot on a Friday night. Entry via the George street entrance to Met centre or Margaret street near the ING. Staff are friendly and clear dishes away promptly. Good experience and good food. #veganoption #glutenfreeoptions

Burger was quite good, and hard to go wrong with that one though. Dessert share plate was very sweet but still nice. Sorry I already started eating the dessert a bit before shooting the pic attached.

Very good place. Already a regular customer here and the staff are very nice. Very generous with food serving also. Great burger and great chips. Highly recommend place with reasonable price. Can compete head on with other burger joints if only they have their own special sauce for their chips. 👍
