Review Saigon Pho - Sydney

Camille
A 10-minute walk from Central station. They have very good pho, meat was tender, and the crispy fried chicken was cooked well. I suggest going on a weekday for lunch or dinner, as it can get busy on weekend nights. Definitely one of my -go Vietnamese restaurants in Darling Square :)

Michelin guide should give Saigon Pho a Michelin star as they make tasty Vietnamese food and it's always consistent. A lot of the great Viet restaurants in Sydney city have disappeared but it's good to still have Saigon with us.

This little foodcourt outlet has a rather small menu but their noodle soups come in generous servings with wonderful flavours. They definitely have a broth recipe that I would like to know about. While their noodle soups were great, the grilled pork dish was slightly overcooked for me.

Pretty good little place for phó in the Sussex center food court. Tried their phó special. Taste good. Soup was hot and not too salty. Noodles were cooked right. Very strong of star anise and cinnamon taste. Clear broth. Will try other dishes next time.

Generally pretty good pho! However their rare beef was quite tough so I wouldn’t recommend getting that one. worth for its price, a great cheap dinner in Chinatown

It was a good experience for me! I like vietnam food. I'm so happy to eat good buncha in sydney. Counter person is so nice. Friendly and let me know what I want to eat but not decide to order. Because special buncha is a little bit expansive for me. then she recommends me similar menu that more cheaper than other one. Haha so happy! If you want to eat buncha, eating no.48. It was good for me.

Best Pho I had in Sydney. Broth quality was on point. Rice noodles texture was great, And they hook you up with hella meat!

Surprised to find this delicious beef pho in a food court, comparing the highly recommended one, I actually prefer Saigon Pho special beef pho more. The ingredients used are very fresh n plentiful.

The broth is pretty good, but nothing very spectacular. The sliced beef was tough unfortunately. Location is also in a food court so ambience is not the best. Suitable for a quick and easy meal!

Glad to have authentic Vietnamese food in Sydney city without having to go to Cabbramatta. When I'm craving for Vietnamese this is my go to. I love their Bun Rieu (crab meat noodle soup) which is one of their specialities. This time we also ordered the seafood laksa. Laksa is nice but their Vietnamese dishes are much better. Since this is in a food court, the price is so cheap. You can get a meal for two for average $30. Can't go wrong!

I had pho here and it was Fantastic. It was authentic, it had the aroma of authentic Pho. The portions are value for money and the dishes are reasonably priced. The service was not too flash, as I would have expected. But didn't bother me as it was late at night and I just wanted an authentic Pho meal.
The pork belly was nice can't say much about the seafood wonton noodle soup was really bad. The fried rice gave my daughter food poisoning. Won't be eating or recommending this place again plenty of other places to pick from.

I really like their grilled pork which is full of lemongrass flavour. It's the best I have so far in Sydney. I believe Pho is good as well according to a friend if mine.

Pho was average and did not contain much meat. This would not be as much of a problem if the broth was really good.

The vermicelli bowls are slightly above average. Will still try some other dishes.

Another Friday office lunch Chinatown food court adventure. Tried the spring roll salad (poured too much sauce in, result: overly salty) and the seafood noodle soup. Very average, not memorable. However it's worth mentioning that my colleague did love his beef noodle salad - it's his regular, so maybe you meat eaters may want to give that a go. Service here is also patchy. Noodles and noodle salads come out pretty rapidly whereas a colleague who ordered beef and egg with rice waited around 15 minutes, by which time the rest of us had finished lunch.

Fresh veggies and noodle with good amount of meat for less than 12$ good lunch!
Recommend no. 33 & 35 for fresh and light lunch!
Fast serving and friendly staff

The first plastic spoonful is an instant surprise, it’s sweet, moreishly so, there’s no undertone of five spice or other flavours to challenge the palate. It’s a remarkably accessible soup. After a few mouthfuls, I wonder whether that sweetness and lack of spice might wear thin, but happily I can report the final mouthfuls are still very enjoyable. My special pho has several cuts of beef, sliced beef balls and tendon. The noodles are standard; thin and slinky rice strands.

The Sussex Centre food court is looking a little worse for wear just recently with three empty shops. Saigon Pho is going strong, even adding to their menu with a selection of "street food" including bun Rieu and a special northern pork soup. Their pho is clean light and on the sweet side that's easy to swallow.

A great alternative to Chinese food when you find yourself hungry in the Sussex Centre food court. My favourite dish is the crispy skin chicken vermicelli salad.

I only ever get 3 dishes from here but have had many repeats each: sugarcane prawns on vermicelli salad, caramelised pork with rice, & sliced beef pho. You don't get the huge variety of herbs & leaves as you do in the speciality pho restaurants, just bean sprouts with a bit of mint & lemon, but that's OK for a food court I guess. The pho is not sweet at all, which is why I like it.

They're friendly & the food's consistent, have been here for years while many neighbours have come & gone, so must be doing a few things right :) This is my favorite out of all the places in this food court.

Love this little food court place hidden in Chinatown. Always very busy during lunch time. Friendly staff. Food is consistently amazing. My go to dish must be the spring roll vermicelli salad!

This place serves really great value and authentic Vietnamese food. Got the crispy chicken and dried egg noodle. The bowl was massive and it came with a good amount of chicken and a side of soup (which was really beautiful), and it was all only $11.50. The noodles were lovely and the fish sauce that came with it complemented the entire dish so well. It was so delicious. The pho was also amazing. I can't wait to come back and try their other dishes!!

Great little authentic pho food court shop. Because this restaurant is in a food court they don't seem to be anything special. However, once you try their food you will be pleasantly surprised. I am not a fan of the crispy chicken, however, i am in love with their pho's broth. DELICIOUS!

Love the crispy chicken vermicelli salad. I've been coming back for it for years. Still hasn't lost its appeal, and has never missed the mark, quite incredible for a small little hole in the wall.

I love Saigon Pho! Not only is the pho phantastic (yeah, I went there) the vermicelli salads are delicious. I had the crispy chicken salad last time, the chicken was crisp outside and tender inside and the flavours all worked well together.

The chicken’s skin was insanely crispy, juicy and just awesome! Restaurant quality in a food court!

Best Beef Pho Noodle Soup in the CBD. If you are looking for quick lunch or dinner, come to Saigon Pho. The foods here are so fresh and delicious. Try their Beef Pho, the best one you could get in the CBD. Thin, fresh rice noodle topped with tender sliced rare beef in 8+ hours slow-cooked beef broth. Service is also excellent. Other recommended dishes are Stir fry beef on vermicelli & salad, crispy chicken with tomato rice or the grilled pork on vermicelli & salad served with home-made garlic dressing.
And do not forget to order their second to none Ice Tea (it is cheap too $1.20/cup)

Glad I found this place!. Thanks to groupon I decided to give this place a go with the family and discount or not, I will be coming back for more!
It is definitely traditional and the serving size will leave you fully satisfied.
The service is phenomenal for a food court restaurant, they are quite busy as well.
Yum yum yum. Love this place!
And I don't usually give restaurants good reviews...

Feel like to have Beef Pho, drop in Saigon Pho, up the Sussex Centre Foodcourt, Chinatown. Best Vietnamese foods you could get in town. The taste is truely traditional like one you get from street foodstall in Vietnam. Most of the dishes are under $10.00. Try Bun Bo Xao (Stir fry beef on vermicelli n salad). Its amazing. Just love it.
