Review Tandoori Hut - Sydney

Hello amazing dinner! I came here on a friend recommendation and it certainly didn't disappoint. The lovely Chef offered to cook me Butter Chicken after I enquired, which was not on the menu. This dish is amazing! The entrees, amazing, customer service, amazing. Keep up being amazing.

I always say that dining out is not just about the food. This place is amazing. Host/owner is hospitable. Food quality and service is outstanding. I would definitely recommend it to everyone for magnificent experience of Indian food and hospitality.

Very good table service, nice atmosphere and very tastfully done appearance with the traditional Indian theme throughout the whole restaurant. The food....oh the food was delicious and very well priced! You won't be disappointed if you dine in. Will definitely be back!

First time at this restaurant - first impression was pretty good - rather impressed with the eclectic decor. The menu offered a few of the expected meals, and a few new ones too. The Mango Lassi was perhaps the best I’ve had. Overall, definitely worth another visit.

One of the best lunch I have ever had. The Kathi roll was fresh and perfectly spiced. Staff were very attentive, we will definitely be back soon😋

This restaurant is the real deal! We ordered both meat and vegetarian dishes with a variety of sides and I can honestly say it is one of the best Indian meals I have ever had. The naan breads are a must!!

One of the best Chicken Lababdar I had till date.It is a classic onion-tomato gravy with tantalising spices ready to palpitate your appetite. If you are a spice lover, this is just the right curry for you. I enjoyed the dish and would recommend it to all.

Neat Indian restaurant. I was happy with their customer service. Food could have been a bit more spicier but tasted good overall. Food was delivered promptly and a good ambience overall.

Such a hype!!! Had chicken vindaloo and chicken kadhai, one lacked taste and other was way too salty! Biryani was still better however should really be concerned about gravies! Service is ok though.

Tandoori Hut in Sydney is a good restaurant where we had dinner.

We ordered
*dal makhani
*jeera aloo
*malai kofta
*chana masala
*garlic naan
*tandoori roti
*biryani

The taste was average but the staff is humble enough to serve you at their best.

One of our friends who took us to the Tandoori Hut said that if he had a death row meal, butter chicken from the Tandoori Hut would be it. The other friend said that it’s noisy and loud and the service isn’t great, but the food makes it worth it. True enough. On a Saturday night, it really was noisy, and with a packed restaurant, the poor waiter (the owner’s son?) can’t manage all the tables by himself (but had to).

This place is all able to food. Service can be slow but I don’t care cause the food is worth the wait. Extremely authentic and it’s open late when you too soak up the lemonades. Can’t beat the tandoori and naan This might be my favourite Indian or Pakistani restaurant ever. Can’t wait to go back.

Come for the rich authentic Pakistani food. Thick samosas with great vegetable filling, rich and spicy curries (like a really stewy palak paneer), great bread. The $10-$15 curries are not particularly big but are enough when having sides as well (we spent $51 for two in total including lassis). The rest of the restaurant can be a bit too authentic though. A little dirty, especially out back as you'll see on the labyrinthine walk to the toilet (you might even see the massive resident rat), and they tend to leave dirty plates on the table until a new person needs to use the table, and the service can be very slow.

This place is so not fancy but so so good. It’s not the most welcoming place but the food is authentic and delicious. We had the Chicken Tikka, Butter Chicken, Palak Paneer and naan. Generous serving sizes. I would go back, especially seeing as this place is open till all hours!

Nun bread very thin & small similar to Roti . Very pricy food for the quality. Half the time take away order not get prepared on time and after an hour they still cooking it .. it’s a joke .

This is by far the best Indian food I have every had. My mates and I regularly make the 30 minute trip out to Enmore for it as it is always worth it. The butter chicken is my go to, its like nothing you've ever had before. Don't get me wrong it doesn't look like much from the outside but the food will blow your mind. I always give the chef thanks!

Probably the most underestimated restaurant in Newtown. From the outside it looks drab and dated.. inside there are old pictures of the Pakistani cricket team along with some signed memorabilia.
But gimmicks aside these make fantastic curries and one of the best biryanis in town.
Super friendly family run business.

Looks like nothing but it's a diamond in the rough - get on it. The gravy for the malai kofta must have nicotine or diamonds in it or something it's amazing. Can't get enough

Great food and open quite late at night! Their samosas, malai kofta, butter chicken, lamb korma and rogan josh are all fantastic, however the malai kofta has been served in a different way every time I have ordered it. Unfortunately it is also on the higher side of average pricing and some of the staff are a little lacking in good customer service.

GREAT tasting food. And there is no hassle in ordering off-the-menu items such as onion bhaji. I highly recommend the PANEER MAKHANI - it's a vegetarian butter chicken where the chicken is replaced by paneer cheese. (Also off the menu)

Keep in mind, home deliveries can take 1-2 hours in my experience (I only live 1KM away) and pick up times are always quoted as 20mins when in actual fact it can be 40. My advice: double the time they say. But it's worth the wait!

The place is not fancy but the food is spot on! The tandoori entree is one of a kind and is a must try dish, I also highly recommend the Paneer makhni and Karahi chicken. The restaurant is also open late on the weekends although the service can be slow at times. Don't forget to try the sweet paan it's a great way to finish up a fantastic meal

I went to tandoori hut late last night - food was excellent and reasonable priced. However, the lady who was serving and managing the toll was a bit extra-smart. She overcharged me $4 in the final bill - cheeky and of course questioned her integrity. When I asked for a tax invoice she was challenged and try to avoid me. When caught she did not apologise and was clear that she had acted dodgy. Very un-Australian!

I got a tip off to try this place out for some authentic Pakistani. Although not much to look at from the outside, the food was definitely worth stopping in for. I always make the effort to try something new, so make sure you ask for the "special menu" if you're feeling adventurous. Friendly staff too.

A gem hidden amounts the roughs. Tandoori Hut offers beautiful authentic Indian dishes that absolutely caught my taste buds. This place may not be your hip and trendy restaurant with the glitz and glamour nor does it have the hipster food bloggers lining up however it does offer incredibly affordable and honest Indian cooking. Vegetable Samosa $5.00 2pcs Homemade pastry pockets filled with vegetables and spices These samosa's were so crispy and an absolute amazing starters. The mixed Indian spices were well balanced which made them addictive. The potato filling inside was incredibly soft and fluffy delivering aromatic punches of flavors Chicken Tikka - $12.00 Chicken fillets marinated in exotic tandoori masala Chicken tikka should always be a must for all visits. These chicken tikka pieces were full of flavors and were incredibly juicy and tender. I highly recommend them. Lamb Vindaloo - $15.00 Hot and spicy goanese lamb dish cooked in vindaloo sauce One of my favorite Indian dishe

Ever had a restaurant you've walked by for years and never gone into and you don't know why, even though you know it is most likely excellent? For us it is Tandoori Hut in Enmore. Tandoori Hut has all the right signs of a good street food restaurant: spar

We live only less than 1 min away from this restaurant and today we decided to give it a try with not high expectations at all. We were proved wrong!! Generous amount of rice and butter chicken which turned out to be the best butter chicken I ever had!! Full of flavour!! Samosas are small but tasty!!! Def coming back to try more food.

One of the best restaurant. Excellent food. Very soft paneer. Must visit place anytime for the rasamalai. Value for the money and quality restaurant.

Okay but nothing special. The butter chicken is alright but there are much better out there. Also the service is average

We tried the butter chicken after reading the review and it was delicious. Also had beef vindaloo, lovely too! A very authentic and tasty combination. Garlic naan great, peshwari naan not as good but overall very tasty!! And cheap too.

Worst service I've experienced in a while. The food here is good. The flavours were great although we felt that there wasn't much meat in our servings. The service, however, was the worst I've experienced in a long time. We went there once late - around 11pm - and assumed the rude service was because it was late and perhaps they were thinking of closing. The second time was around 7pm - we were ignored when we arrived, seated ourselves eventually and waited 10 minutes to get a menu which was almost flung at us. I could have understood more if they were really busy but it didn't seem too bad for a Saturday night. The food took a long while to arrive but the thing that really stayed with us was that the entire meal and service took place without anything close to a smile or a complete sentence. We felt unwelcome and even a bit upset after. Will never go back.

Loyal following. This place (and Anna Thai, down the other end of Enmore Road) are faves of mine for being family run businesses that havent gone the way so much of Newtown has; avoiding investment in trimmings and decor, and instead concentrating on good food. While Tandoori Hut is a little eksy compared to the cheap Indian available elsewhere around King Street, its always incredibly tasty and I've never left feeling disappointed (or hungry). If you're with friends who like their Indian mild, let the waiter know (this place does things a little hotter than most).
Honest Joe
Not only the worst Malai Kofta I've ever had but the worst food I've ever had. Completely inedible. Surly service, zero atmosphere and a dirty plate.
Simon
It's good authentic food. The peshawari naan is the best I have eaten.... Nihari curry simply smokin' with the lovely after taste of ginger....

Only criticism is that the curries need a smidgen more meat....

Good food. This place is slightly annoying... if the food wasn't so good we'd not go.
We probably eat earlier than most due a toddler in the family, but have found that the service in the early evening is not great. In our experience when ordering delivery or takeaway it is never ready at the time promised and the staff usually seem fairly brusque.
The food does keep us returning though.

Here again. Still good. 5.6 out of 7.2. Could do with turning the air con on.

As good as it gets. What needs to be said? Great food, great price. My personal indian fave.
