Review Cafe Courtyard - Sydney

Rattan Muttoo
Surly (morning) serving staff but friendly counter staff mixed with ok coffee. With the number of cafes about I'd suggest giving this cafe a miss unless you're in a large group - then this place is perfect as theirs ample seating

as others have stated, the staff here are not very friendly or courteous. In fact, the service is consistently poor. There's plenty of other good coffee places around Sydney & I suggest you try another cafe - these guys clearly dont care about customer service. I wont be back

Super friendly staff, at least the long term staff are. Great coffee and great location to relax. The fact that you can order a glass of wine without a meal is fantastic.

The service was friendly and professional. The order taking and the delivery were very prompt. The coffee was great as well as the food. I found the prices very reasonable. I would definitely go back.

Good spot just outside the office in the MLC Centre. The guys and gals working here always seem upbeat and happy and they've started to remember me which always make you feel good in the sea of suits that is Martin Place during the work day... Anyway, the coffee is always good, Flat Whites and Reg Caps are about $2.80 so they're better prices than I get in Glebe, and almost as good. I've only actually eaten here once, but the lamb salad was actually fantastic, lots of really nice slow cooked lamb, with feta and some olives, and not overly smothered in dressing, which is the main thing I look for with a salad. All in all, a great spot to grab a coffee with friends while soaking up some sun and doing some people watching, and if you're lucky, you might even spot John Howard strolling down the stairs, although, you have to be sharp, he's a wee little guy...

Asked for a large coffee at the takeaway till (this is literally the only thing I said), handed over a debit card and the next thing I know I had an older gentleman making the coffees ranting and raving at me. He also tried to embarrass me by handing over a (small) coffee (in a mug) to me 'for free', announcing that I'm killing small businesses. No sir, you are killing your business with your attitude and rudeness. If they'd have pointed to a 'cash only' sign or charged me extra, I wouldn't have minded. Lovely experience first thing in the morning! I left without a word and was served a coffee with a smile within 10 metres. Steer clear.

Fritters are delish, nom nom nom. 1 waiter is a right grumpy dude, it makes me laugh but it’s bit weird being in the hospitality industry; menu gets thrown on the table (1 between 2) and immediately ask for your order. Based on service I’ve marked it as 3. Otherwise it would be 4.

First cafe we went to after arriving in Sydney. The staff were so lovely and helpful and the food was great. Highly recommend
