Antique cafe with a unique old Italian touch, wonderful breakfast, great coffee and excellent service.
Details make my day and this place absolutely got it, vintage water glass, pink salt and pepper direct from a wood ”pimentero”.

There are old school places thst don't chsnge but are still so worth it to go. Add Wed night jazz to a late night coffee and we are getting somewhere. Normally, I'd be scared to have a coffee served like this, bur the taste is so unique. Beans roasted by Damien Valdez of Blacksmith Roasters, it's a smooth coffee with a soft acid end without the need for the nouvelle edge. It isn't over thought. Gentle. Add deserts served with Greek yoghurt (wow!) and a competitively priced menu available from dawn to midnight and I'm sorted. :)

Cool little bar in Kingscross with an intimate European feel. Reasonable drinks menu, limited bar snacks. Loud (good) music but kills conversation. $$$

Worst service I've ever experienced in any café (0/5). I went here for takeaway coffee around 3pm Sunday 26th August. Ordered from the woman at the coffee machine. The staff were more interested in chatting with friends and family. Waited 10 minutes. Another customer ordered a takeaway double shot espresso after me and was served immediately. I left empty handed. Don't be fooled by the rainbow flags and quaint charming look of this café!

Great, little, unassuming cafe/bar where you can BYO. We popped in for a dinner feed where they offer a Pretty simple fare; we chose the quiches which were cheap and tasty. Owner Seamus (I think his name was) was friendly, chilled and you can absolutely see his influence on the place. When we were there, there were a couple of colourful locals which added to the random and fun vibe of the night. <br/>Like I said, a tiny place, which is perfect for a little coffee stop, cheap/simple feed, unassuming hang.

Piccolo Bar has had a update! The photos and the rich smell of coffee is still there as well as the wonderful owner Vittorio Bianchi, but let’s face facts – Kings Cross is anything but bohemian these days. Piccolo Bar lost its mojo with time and the twenty something year olds really don’t care about its 60 year history (more’s the pity). So I guess an update was a good start to move on – so the walls are now white, there are touches of red everywhere and a brightness about the room that was never there. I think this is a good change? but there is part of me that loved it the way it was – when you were not quite sure who was in the corner and what deal, if any, was being done.

Great little Cafe. Easy to understand why this place is a Kings Cross icon. We go here for our gelato and coffee, and the price and quality beat its competitors hands down. A traditional Italian eatery and cafe, that doesn't try too hard. Why queue up at Messina, when you can have the entire experience here?

Love it. Piccolo is full of character just like Lorenzo and Victorio that run the place, and who are well known to the locals of the area - though tiny we love this place tucked away just off the main strip - the food is hearty and honest, fresh and tasty - also very good value for money!<br/>Garlic and Pesto bread, the meatball and sticky date pudding are favourites here.

Loved it!. Came he using a voucher. Ordered a wrap and the lamb chops. Must say, on first impressions the place looks very small and dingy however, once we received our food, we realized why it has been a fixture in kings cross for so long. The food was delicious! It was simple and yummy. The service was great and the men behind the counter were extremely friendly and generous. Will definitely be returning. A great experience to be had by all!

A friendly and entertaining cafe that serves home cooked meals. Open seven days, for early morning coffee and breakfast, to late evening for dinner or coffee and home made cakes. A must for any foodie.
