Review Infinity Bakery - Sydney

Huge selection of baked goods. Perfect balm for a cold morning. Efficient service despite being understaffed. Lovely location and setting inside.

I had lunch here with my friend. We saw the pastries in the front window and got excited! Then I searched to see if they had pies and sausages rolls, and they had it! So I ordered a sausage roll and a strong soy latte. My friend ordered the pie. We were so excited to take our first bite and sip of our coffee, but unfortunately it was nothing disappointing. The sausage roll was cold! Burn and cold! Tasteless. It was originally cooked and left there in the cold! It left a bad taste in my mouth! Secondly my coffee was so milky and weak! I ordered a strong latte (well it didn’t even taste like coffee) I am sad to give this bad review but I like to be honest in my review. My friend was also disappointed with her pie and coffee as well, her pie again was cold and burnt. Both the pie and sausage was not fresh and tasted stale. The customer service was also not friendly.

We have purchased from the darlinghurst shop for sometime. Always loved the food. Today went in and asked if the brownies were fresh. The girl behind the counter gave me an attitude and said that “they’re fresh but what if I was lying to you? You would not know”. To which I reply, “well I hope you are not lying”. To which she said “I could and you wouldn’t know”. I felt like teaching her hospitality 101 - she complained that a lot of customers ask this question, suggesting it was a stupid question. I told her that if I felt they weren’t fresh that I’d write a review. Well the brownie wasn’t fresh! It was rock solid and tasted like solid butter with cocoa powder in it. I’m sorry but her attitude plus a tasteless brownie, I couldn’t resist.

I’m from Campbelltown and work in Darlinghurst, Sydney. The best croissant I’ve ever had for breakfast. Nice, crispy layers of baked croissant covered with pumpkin seeds. Good service too.

Coffee and Croissant - Coffee is always great, strong flavoured with speedy service. The Croissant was fresh, straight from the oven. Well done to the barrister, staff and management

The people serving is very nice and considerate as my card didn't work. Thanks. The coffee excellent.

My neighbourhood bakery is renowned for its breads, especially sourdough, but it's the amazing pastries that have this local hooked. When in season, Infinity does both raspberry and blueberry danishes that'll make your eyes roll back in your head. If you're an early riser, head up at sunrise to get them piping hot just out of the oven — buttery, flaky pastry, with a hint of creamy custard and plenty of warm fruit on top. My all-time favourite (and standard post-gym reward!) is the pain au chocolat which they do so well: again their perfect pastry that flakes apart, encasing a few squares of molten quality chocolate. The salted caramel brownie is also truly incredible (but ask them to heat it up if you're having it now).

Their muffins and scones are dry, which is a shame, cause they look delicious... just didn’t meet expectation unfortunately. Probably won’t be going back

Best blueberry scones in the world! They have also been renovated which makes it a really nice spot to sit in and read a book during lunch breaks!

Love their range of breads and pastries with fresh juices and coffees on hand to close out a delightful experience in artisan breads always makes for a good visit

Infinity Darlinghurst has a great range of pastries & sandwiches with excellent coffee. If they could just work on their customer service where counter staff invariably respond like kitchen hands being asked to work shop it would be perfect.

Looks like Infinity Bakery has had a bit of a renovation spruce up since my last visit back in November 2017. A little bit more streamlined at the service counter area while keeping all the usual suspects stocked on display. Lemon Meringue ($6.50) had nice pastry and plenty of meringue on top to please. Their cheese scroll looks so good I'll definitely have to try next time. Unfortunately for dining in they seem to serve in takeaway trays and would be better if served on real plates to save on wastage I think.

I got there at 6am and what a horrid place this is! The staff were competing with one another as to who could be the most nasty to customers...They all won! A friendly notice to the staff...It is never OK to show up for work reeking of stale alcohol.

Spotted lots of people ordering from this bakery one time. Tried out their lemon citron tart for $3.50. Not a huge lemon fan but this worked down a treat. Good biscuit base and the lemon curd had the perfect zing to it. Keen to come back and try their other desserts.

Lovely friendly service, huge tasty croissants with the right amount of flakiness (both plain and almond versions), and a good variety of pies with delicious fillings encased in yummy pastry. Coffee not bad either, I expected much worse from a bakery but it was actually quite drinkable

I went here on the way to work for something quick and this was thriving early in the morning. Heaps of people having breakfast and coffees. It is a huge bakery and everything was freshly baked. I got a cup of tea and a pumpkin and chickpea sausage roll. Was a great breakfast on the run.

I had a delicious ham and cheese croissant here last Saturday, but customer service needs to improve - the lady serving me forgot my order twice and I had to remind her. I then paid with a $20 note and she completely forgot to give me any change so I had to ask for it several minutes later. She also did not put my coffee order through but by this point I was just happy to get my croissant.

Yum yum yum. Like many people, I'm in search of a good pie and sausage roll. Infinity does exactly that.

I had the sausage roll and chicken & mushroom pie respectively on two occasions. Both were baked crisply with delicious filling. I can actually taste the texture of the mushrooms!

8.5/10 would come again for a short breakfast. It's got a good location to watch the world go by.

Come here every weekend for a fresh loaf of bread and wouldn't go anywhere else now! The array of quality pastries and sweets is also incredible. Not to mention that kangaroo pie they had on special...please bring it back!!!
Simply Starving
Enjoyed a fantastic coffee here. It was strong, smooth and hot, just the way I like it! Staff were friendly and the baked goods smelt delicious and I can't wait to come back to give them a try.

I was walking by and this lovely bakery caught my eye. It was love at first sight when I saw the breads they had on special today. Bought two loaves, the Humble Buck and the Sticky Rye. The Sticky Rye was exceptional and actually sticky! Prices are very reasonable and there was a wide range of tempting goodies.
The Sticky Chai is the best chai latte I've ever had - just incredible, with a wonderful spiciness that lingers long after you've finished the last perfect drop.

Infinity Bakery in Darlinghurst is a small family run business that was taken over from renowned chef and baker, Philip Searle, in 2008. Building on the established business, siblings Sophie and William Petersen have taken it to the next level, expanding the business to Manly and (as of yesterday) Paddington. This shop and cafe has opened on Oxford St where Charlie Brown used to reside, next to Love Supreme.

Though infinity bakery is probably best known for its delicious breads, their coffee is actually great too. They also have a very good range of fresh juices on offer. These juices are made from interesting combinations of fruits and greens and they still taste great. I'd recommend having one with a scroll - like we did on this visit.

People with gluten allergies - beware!. I heard good reports about the Gluten Free Bread on offer at Infinity Bakery. Bought a soy/linseed type last Sunday and it had been baked the day prior. The loaf was ROCK SOLID - without an electric knife, it was almost impossible to cut through. Felt and tasted very stale. As a person with Coeliac Disease, I have been buying GF bread for many years and sadly, the run of the mill supermarket variety far exceeded that of the bakery. The staff also don't tell you that while the bread is labelled GF, it is produced in the same environment as the normal bakery products and there is a chance of cross contamination. Gluten allergies are serious - staff, please give us all the information we need to make a good decision for our health!

Dislike. The pastries and bread looked amazing, bought some walnut sourdough bread- had a try- it was stale, very disappointed! I took it back to try a different one. The guy at the counter sarcastically asked if i had ever tried sourdough bread before and it would be 'perfect tomorrow'- actually no, stale will get more stale, and he did not want to change the bread or refund me (he did eventually). the olive bread was much better. but sorry. too late. bad customer service and im not interested. wont be going back.

Ridiculously good brownies!!!

Wow. Bakery with nonexistent service and spectacular offerings. Fresh baked bread is displayed on intricate racks. The whole shop, while small, smells divine. Pastries are absolutely delicious and not too pricey for Sydney. Girl at the counter was not enthusiastic but service is not necessary at a bakery. Worth the walk from Crown.

Great pastries. Came here wanting to buy bread but walked away with pastries. They have delicious escargots and almond croissants that are generous in size (almond croissants were massive) and at a good price. I'll definitely be back to try other goods that they have on offer!

Amazing breads, lovely buttery crossiants... Awesome find... I'd move to Darlinghurst just so I could go to the bakery daily!!
SuperDarlo
Looks good but unfriendly staff so ended up buying nothing

I love this place! The pies and pastries are delicious!

The potato $ oregano pizza was great! But they should put more chocolate in the chocolate croissant.

Rivals Iggy's hole in the wall in Bronte. Like manna from heaven, this bakery serves de-lish versions of sourdough in all shapes and sizes. Reasonable prices for epicurean loaves!
