Review Salvador Coffee - Sydney

Ira Pfeifer
Definitely good, but the level of competition is super high around here, and my flat white was pretty one-note, dark and somewhat bitter. For a place serving fancy microlot single origins, I guess I was expecting more depth and complexity, and maybe a lighter roast to let some more acidity come through. Maybe I just got the end of a batch or a roast not to my taste, but it didn't blow me away. In any case, it's a cute space, hidden down a laneway with a couple other promising little shops and restaurants, although I visited on a hot day and it was sweltering - seems the air conditioner is on the fritz.

I've been looking for an excellent coffee in this area for about a week, and finally found it. It's easy to find a decent coffee in Sydney, however rarely the case when coffee to blows my mind; Salvador's did. It feels stronger, more nutty yet not as bitter as other ones I've tried around. Fans of more sour and fruity notes might not be perfectly happy, but still shouldn't miss this place👌☕

Greatness. Seasonal blend made in store. Owner Marcio sources the best single origin beans he can find and puts together the flavour of the month as he works through what's best in the market. True coffee craftsmanship. There's a strong espresso blend as well. Industrial feel of the cafe is modern and inviting, background music is subtle and always playing to lively up the ambience. The baristas are knowledgeable, service is friendly. Go once, buy beans to take home, keep going back for more: espresso, cold drip, latte, and a berry scone.

The best coffee in the GPT/GMT area by a mile! Add they are swift, incorporate Hey You, and are always charming and helpful !

Nice place, down the little side street (so not exactly where Google Maps has it). Good long black, super-good berry scone.

I've been living in Melbourne for 4 years which had made me a coffee snob so its good to see places like this in Sydney now with great coffee and snack options

Very nice cafe, good efficient service but the coffee was very weak.

One of the best coffees you’ll find in Darlinghurst.

When I have a day off from work, what better to do than to visit the CBD of Sydney and see what coffee I can find. I stumbled across Salvador Coffee in the ‘out of the way’ Kings Lane. Salvador Coffee, is on the rise in Sydney and with its Brazilian roots, the owner and roaster has coffee in his blood, therefore you know you there is passion behind each pour.

This cafe is tucked away and seems to be staffed by Brazilians. All to the good as they do a great coffee and the cafe has a good ambience. Lots of light, classic wooden benches and stools, the emphasis is all on the coffee.

Best coffee in Darlinghurst. Flavourful, rather mellow, Brazilian style coffee. A favourite place to pause and relax.

Superb coffee. I am a fussy coffee drinker (aka a coffee snob) and I say you can't beat an espresso made by Marcio and his beans are equally interesting and delicious.

First thing that comes to mind is the simplicity of the place. There's nothing to hide here. Custom made timber tables and chairs made to best cater for coffee tastings, also called "cupping" and of course, to the man behind the coffee magic. Though simple, the attention to detail was just as crucial. Since coffee is complicated enough, "I wanted something simple." Illuminated by natural light, this two storey coffee emporium/ chill out cafe has more to offer than what you see. While coffee roasting takes places upstairs - bask in the glory of the roasting sounds and the view of a monstrous but amazing machinery - you, with your awesome cup of coffee begin an interesting journey.

Bad service and wait forever. The shop was busy. Service was really slow. That girl was not friendly at all. And they forgot my orders twice. It's been over rated. I'll not go back.

Best coffee in Sydney. Keep up the good work Marcio, your roasting abilities separate you from the rest of the pack in Sydney....best start to a morning!

Great boutique coffee. If you like quality coffee without the commercial brand, get to this place. Brazilian owner lives and breaths coffee.

Great Cafe. Stumbled upon this cool cafe by chance and so happy we did. This small, unassuming cafe really has it all - coffee was fantastic, barista and waiter were friendly and food was so tasty. Menu is not extensive, but what they do, they do well. We had a Persian Fetta toasted sandwich and an Avacado on Toast, so simple, so delicious. Loved the simple decor and the fact that they have a coffee roaster in-house, just adds to the authenticity of the coffee experience. Met the owner (a Brazilian) who is super friendly and cannot hide his passion for coffee. All in all, can't really fault this place. We'll be back for more, but until then, we bought a bag of their Kings Lane blend to enjoy at home.
