Great food, beats by far the other restaurants in the area. They have a wide variety, get the food done quickly, and the taste is always excellent. Be sure to try it out.

3.8? Kidding me? Yes , sometimes maybe because chef changed, taste is less good- however, most of times, really delicious - better than those expensive Thai restaurants.. the price is so reasonable in this location - and I really thank them to be the most delicious Asian food near this area so me and family can have some nice food when too tired to cook.

Couldn't care less about the extremely shabby decor when the food is so authentically delicious and well-priced, and the staff are so friendly. Hard to find such tasty Thai food for the same price in Sydney.

Good food, great price, limited seating. We went at lunchtime during the middle of the week and a lot of local young people were eating there. We will go back before we leave Sydney.

Great food. Real hearty serves of authentic tasting soups. Very low key place. Don't expect 5 star, candlelit dining.

Delicious vegan stir fry, tofu and vegetable with lemongrass. $10 dinner special (but they will charge you an extra 30 cents for paying with EFTPOS).
A ginger cat may wander in and sit with you.

Being a uni student around Sydney university. With limited food options, if i need a thai fix I'll go here. It's not a fancy place, more of a takeaway shop with a few tables to eat in.
Food is pretty ok, service is fast. Prices ia avg.

Darling Thai is a little takeaway a short walk from Sydney uni. As you'd expect it's by no means fine dining but they are quick, cheap, friendly and their food is perfectly edible.

I often come here for lunch or dinner after class. It is cheap, but tastes good. I love rice noodles, so I often order pad thai, salty noodles and cashew noodles here. Both chicken and beef are delicious, but I feel that the serving of chicken is more than that of beef. I will try other food, such as fried rice or curry next time.

When there are so many great Thai options I. Sydney I'd suggest you try somewhere else. I don't want to be too negative as this is someone's business but the dish I had was flavourless and watery, not what you expect for pad see ew when you want that delicious smokey wokchar

Always have pai thai here for quick lunch or dinner. After renovation the place is more spacious to take a few more customers at one time. Quite good option if you like quiet dinner setting. Tofu vege pad thai is solid! Massaman beef is quite small for the price and the potato is not on point. It is not tender and mushy like the beef and carrot in there. Xihuahua 🐶 refuses to have anymore later dinner haha. Agreed. But this place is good if you eat out a bit late.

Budget food! Awesome 😎
Ordered vege tofu Pad Thai and curry Massaman beef

Pad Thai was Quite plentiful, but there is no enough bean sprouts and crunch peanuts! Why!?

Massaman beef
Taste was nice, 7 or 8 beef cubes marinated nicely but carrot and potatoes 🥔 were not prepared well enough. Softer will be better.

Good suggestion Guorium🧪 but refuse any dinner after 8pm

price: pretty cheap, less than10 dollors then you can get a good lunch!
food: i am the fan of fried rice with chiken and pineapple.
location: close to the sydney uni, so it's a good place for uni students to have lunch.
Highly recommend!

Good old darling Thai! It's my cheap uni feed delight. I don't think some of the other reviews are fair. The food here is pretty good (I guess it depends what you get). I normally get the veggie stir fry and rice and it taste pretty good for the price.

Not sure which restaurant these other reviewers went to.. Lived opposite for the last year and have had amazing Thai food regularly. On par with the best cheap Thai restaurants in Sydney.

Pretty bad thai food. Had the vegetarian pad thai. It didn't taste Thai at all. I could live with that, but it tasted horrible. I don't think the vegetables were cooked properly. Came here from uni for lunch since it's cheap. Wouldn't go back if the food was free.

Yuk, Pretty bad food. I know thai food well and this is instant noodles that had 6 pieces of beef, 3 pieces of small veg and 2 x 1cm blocks of tau fu. Feel ripped off and left a bad aftertaste. Sure they catch lots of unknowing students... If only i read the reviews here first! Yuk!

the worst Pad Thai I have ever had the misfortunate to consume....
The food here is so incredibly disappointing. It was an utter waste of money. I ordered chicken pad thai, which had no discernible flavor whatsoever. The noodles were completely plain and the chicken was rubbery. At first I thought they had given me the wrong dish because it was so bad, but no, unfortunately this is what Darling Thai considers to be food. My friend had the chicken satay stir fry, which was just cooked chicken and vegetables with an ounce of watery sauce lingering at the bottom. No peanut flavor at all. Without exaggeration, this is the worst thai food I've ever encountered.
