Review Blue Ocean Restaurant - Sydney

• It is easy to spot. • There are many tables inside but quickly full up around dinner time. So if you go with a group, better reserve. • The service is quite efficient. At least they tell you how long you have to wait for your (first) dishes to be served. • Personally, prices are reasonable with their serving portions. • Food tastes good actually. However, as this is a Chinese restaurant, it is expected to be bit oily. • Cash definitely preferred, but card is acceptable too (occasionally I suppose, just need to add extra 5% on the bill). • With takeaway orders, I have ordered seafood noodles. One tasted amazing, another tasted much less. However, seafood orders should be only paid by cash.

A thriving business since as long as I've lived near Revesby. Love the way Chinese women generate a sense of business by speaking loudly in (what I'm guessing is) Cantonese. I don't know, whether it's just me in the store making an order, or the servers going about their business, or the chef's shovelling down their food before service - there's just so much going on. Then the phone rings... Food is good primarily because it's high turnover. A big thank you to all the staff at Blue Ocean for making my first world Friday night feast a reality. Garlic Prawns, Salt & pepper squid, Chicken in Black Bean, Fried Rice .... There could be others but that's a good start... Family of 5. 20 minutes. What else would you want?

One of the best authentic Chinese seafood restaurants in Revesby/Panania/Picnic Point area. This place is regularly full. Recommend you to make a booking, and try to roasted pigeon! The XO pipis, sweet and sour pork, free range chicken and fried rice is also great. Plenty of wok hey 😉... A shame that this time, we came in and most of the usual dishes were sold out - due to the floods! Will be back next time!

OMG.... is this chinese restaurant or what? Everything is bland , flavourless. I have to agree with Bryan Lee's comment with the food is so bland and Emily Moey's comment about food is so so for the price. Food was delivered late , 25 mins from the time they put. They delivered the food by themselves. I dont mind to get my food late but with the taste i got it , i regret it to order even there is 10% off. I ordered vegetable chow mien, beef steak with peking sauce, duck with sweet sour sauce, honey pepper sauce pork chop, beef steak with peking sauce chicken fried rice, crispy skin chicken with plum sauce. Spend 90 bucks but really no up the standard as good chinese restaurant. Spend this much ,and i got heaps onion on the foods lol. I never seen so much onion. Vegetable chow mien - tasteless 👎. You can put more oyster sauce or soy sauce because that sauce is lacking flavour Noodle is crispy but not really that crispy. Chicken fried rice- again tasteless, i need to put soy sauce My kids saying the chicken looks and tsste weird. Again there is no taste on chicken and the looks if chicken is weird. Honey pepper pork chop -omg. The best honey pepper is chinese kingsford. Where is ths honey? Where is the peppers? Beef steak with peking sauce- beef is tender .plenty onions lol...... Again i could not taste the plum sauce. Duck with sweet sour sauce- it is a little bit better. I said a little bit better not much because they put pineapples lmao. No pineapples maybe taste like above dishes. I wish i can give more rating and i would like to know maybe i got junior chef to cook my food as i can see 5 days ago, 2 weeks ago, they got 5 * rating. All the menulog got 5* rating. First impression is not really good and i dont think will order it again because the price and delivery cost.

Local Cantonese fare. Always booked out as it's one of the better ones in the area. Recommend the roasted pigeon and fried rice. Good for stir fried dishes and seafood.

Last night we had dinner there. We ordered the signature braised free range chicken, deep fried pork (don't remember the name on manu) and steamed prawn dumplings. The pork and dumplings were very good especially dumplings. The chicken was a cold dish, not warm at all, which was not my expectation as the manu says the chicken is braised. The waitress said Chinese usually eat that dish cold which is sth that I, as a Chinese, am never aware of. We even found chicken fur among the meat. So disgusting.😩😤 But the service was good.

The food at Blue Ocean Restaurant is always so delicious and always hits the spot! My family always enjoys coming here for a big family dinner or get-together as the staff are always so welcoming and friendly. The food is so great and if you ask, they can accomodate for you and make some changes with certain dishes (such as changing the type of noodle they use etc).

We ordered takeaway for a large family gathering. The food was authentic Chinese food. The lobster noodles and the chicken were our favourite dishes. The service was very kind. All the dishes were packed securely for pickup. The communication during pickup was clear and we were able to pickup our food with no delay. We highly recommend this restaurant!

Good Cantonese style Chinese restaurant. Really good value for money. Car parking is not very convenient though. They have a really strange system of cooking all of the food for one particular table before starting on any others, which results in longs waits for food (we waited over an hour), and going from no food at all to a table full of food. They really need to change this system. Food was quite good, but nothing too special, but the prices were really good.

What a great feed we had here!! The restaurant is small and has homey feel with great staff andthe food is authentic Chinese. They have your typical Chinese dishes such as fried rice, sweet sour pork, Mongolian lamb but also serves your traditional Chinese banquet dishes such as fresh seafood such as lobster, mud-crab and fish.

I was here for a dinner party for 12 – we had over 8 dishes and every dish was delicious. There was one dish that I cannot wait to eat again! - a fried tofu ball that had small bits of Chinese sausage and other ingredients served with a gravy type sauce. Omg YUMM!!

Was recommended this restaurant by a friend and so glad we tried it – no need to trek to the city for good Chinese food!!

A small homey Cantonese restaurant a minute's walk from Revesby station. They do seafood as well as 小炒 (stir fried dishes) - quite well and at a much more affordable price than the seafood restaurants in Beverly Hills (which, to be honest, can still be hit-or-miss despite the dear prices).

We got the crab vermicelli clay pot 金沙粉丝蟹煲 (1kg at market price of $44.8 per half kg). Vermicelli was cooked just right (with some bite), and was flavoursome but not overly salty; dry and not soggy. The crab meat was fresh and sweet. We usually order this when we go out because it's not something we can make at home.

Stir-fried wagyu beef cubes 烧汁和牛粒 ($22.8) were a perfect level of charred on the outside while being pink in the middle; super tender and soft beef tossed in a sweet "BBQ" sauce. We thought it was a bargain for $22.8.

Young spinach with 3 types of eggs 金银蛋浸菜苗 ($16.8) was OK, nothing special - basically spinach egg drop soup with chicken egg, salted duck egg and century egg. We ordered it as the veggie dish to "balance out" the rest of our meat dishes, and it served its purpose, but it isn't something we would order again.

The pig stomach hotpot with salted mustard 咸菜猪肚煲 ($19.8) was decent as well. It's a traditional Hokkien dish - aside from pig stomach, there were also pork ribs/cartilage in there, which had been stewed to a good tenderness. And a trademark of the dish is that the soup is very peppery - makes a good belly warmer for a cold winter's night (or early spring night, in this case).

Complimentary dessert was guilinggao 龟苓膏 (tortoiseshell jelly) - which was a little different from the usual and I liked it - and also the standard plate of sliced oranges.

All up, it was a satisfying dinner and we wouldn't mind coming back again.

Went to this restaurant for the first time last week and it was an amazing experience. The restaurant has a nice homey feel and the staff were very friendly and even helped with explaining the dishes. Food was really good too. Definitely coming back!

Great local Chinese seafood restaurant with excellent food and customer service. The seafood is fresh and lots of good prices dishes to choose from on the menu. Our favourites are the steamed oysters, crab in vermicelli pot (must try!) and the cod fish. Have been to this restaurant multiple times and can say we will keep coming back for more.

**been back since and ordered so many more different dishes and all the tastes were spot on, great food!

Great restaurant with fresh live seafood in good quality. We had mud crab cooked in ginger & shallot with noodle underneath. Live cod fish cooked in 2 ways. It was very yummy indeed. Newly renovated dining area with friendly service. Highly recommend and we will be back to try other dishes on the Menu.

Super friendly staff and prompt service. Made an effort to ensure we ordered what we would enjoy. Amazing food. Lobster was fresh out of the tank. Tofu was super soft and flavoursome. We also ordered pipi cooked with XO sauce with a fried noodle base but unfortunately forgot to take a photo because everyone was so keen to dig in.
