Located in the basement on Castlereagh Street, it is conveniently located close to my office however would not be my first choice of yum cha if I had decided.<br/><br/>Service is friendly enough however there is lot of persistence on the part of one lady who was trying to push the most expensive BBQ items and fried items onto us. At about $12 or more for each of those plates it was definitely not good value for money. We knew what we wanted and those particular steamed items took a while to arrive. <br/><br/>Our selection of dishes included Deep Fried Assorted Meat Dumpling, Turnip Cake, Duck & Taro Pastry, Baked B.B.Q. Pork Puff, Steamed King Prawn Dumpling, Steamed Pork Spare Ribs In Black Bean Sauce, Steamed Chinese Chives & King Prawn Dumpling, Steamed Shu Mai, Steamed Mince Beef Ball, and Chilled Fresh Mango Pudding.<br/><br/>There were some decent dishes but a lot of misses. We felt like they weren't made in house and brought in and re-heated. We ended up paying $30 pp which would've been okay if the food was decent but a lot was sub par so ended up not full and disappointed. We agreed the turnip cake, beef balls, and choice dumpling were definitely poor and that the mango pudding was stringy and too much gelatine used.<br/><br/>If other choices were presented to you, I would most likely err on the side of choosing that instead.

Incredibly disappointing, very little food came to our table and a lot of it was cold when it did. The tea wasn't refreshed the whole time we were there even though it was empty after the first 20 minutes with the lids turned upside down. No offer of drinks and we had to ask for water repeatedly. When it came it was two glasses short for the number of people at the table. A couple of dishes requested just didn't show at all. All in all, bad service and very average good.....we won't be back

Atrocious service, cold food.<br/><br/>Asked for water 4 times, vegetarian food never came after several attempts, dessert didn't come after ordering.<br/><br/>All too hard, better choices in the city.

Exquisite!. I enjoyed the fine Chinese cuisine and the atmosphere of the restaurant. Great food and great service!

Not recommended. Came with a living social's coupon for two " pecking duck banquet " , we were served with 4 pieces of pd ( one was actually just skin) / but with a lot of fried rice .<br/>As I asked why , the answer was ' so it is".<br/>Definitely disappointing

Best Yum Cha in Sydney. To all Yum Cha lovers: it is so far the best Yum Cha restaurant in Sydney. The location is right in the heart of Wynyard which is very reachable to a lot of office workers. <br/>I have been constantly eating Chinese Cuisine around Sydney and this is my highest rating Yum Cha restaurant. The ingredient is fresh and the serve of seafood plates are bigger than others. Most importantly, I did not felt thirsty after meal, which indicates no MSG in the ingredient. I highly recommended to all food lover not just for the good value, but also the great quality of the food.

I work just around the corner from Emperor's Choice Tea House so I've been back a few times with my workmates, and every time I go the waiters knows exactly how I like my drinks to be served! A great feeling you get from their excellent service. Try their bbq platter with a Tsing Tao beer- by far the best combination!

Excellent Excellent Excellent. Recently been to this restaurant with a group of friends, it is well presented, the food tasted GREAT especially the CRISPY PORK BELLY, AMAZING!! The service was very friendly. <br/><br/>Highly recommended!

Yummy Mango Pancakes!. It was a little hidden but I'm glad i tried it cause the mango pancake was fresh and very delicious and would definitely bring other friends there again! highly recommended!

All i can taste was SALT!!!. I cant not taste any flavor BUT SALT, this is just ridiculous. And the worst thing was the uncooked half frozen dumplings!!! Never will go again!!!

Yes I agree the food was oily and salty. And the waiters have very bad manners. Maybe you will only get a decent service when you order a lot of food.

Unprofessional service. I strongly do not recommend this restaurant. Five of us went to Emperor's Choice Tea House the other day, and four people had stomache pain the next day.

Food is good, very friendly! Typo on the menu made me giggle "extra fry" instead of extra dry (beer)
