This place is amazing. We got the Zepickle and the Ya Mum and both were huge, delicious burgers. Only reason to skip this place is if you’re on a diet. Even then just pause it and come try their burgers. You only live once.

Good food that's great for the gram. Good selection of beers if all you like is IPAs.

Great American style burger and chips, friendly staff, nice vibes around. Will be back here when I go to Burleigh head.

I haven't been in a hot minute but I still haven't had a burger as good as the "biting buddha burger" it is like pure happiness on a plate. Oh and their skillets are mad. Also, everything on the menu has an awesome name.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for ages but was really disappointed. The venue was nice but the service wasn’t great. My burger came out and I only had 2 bites of it as the bun was dry and grainy and overall wasn’t nice. The chips came with a smokey sauce instead of regular tomato sauce which I don’t like and wasn’t expecting. Still had to pay $20 for my burger that I only 2 bites of. Definitely won’t be going back.

amazing choices of burgers and friendly staff!! took no time at all to receive food and was accompanied with friendly service.

Chee-ze : 😍 Amazing
Pablo : 😍 Amazing
That Vego Friend : 😁 Great

Looking at the photos Ze Pickle showers on Instagram, it’s been on the list for a long time. Though we ordered it take away (due to COVID restrictions) the burgers were still pretty good. They were a lot smaller than we thought and we were left feeling hungry after having a burger each and fries on the side. Still very delicious burgers though. I would definitely go back and try to dine in some time.

Loveeeeee ZePickle!!! Will forever be coming back! Food is amazing and quick. Staff is friendly and proactive. And we are always lucky to find parking around 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Great loaded fries (5/5 stars) and friendly customer service (4/5 stars).

Burgers: 3/5 stars. Beef Burgers, when cooked medium well, is too tough since meat is lean. They do let u kno this and say that they usually cook their beef burgers medium rare , so if u like the burgers cook through then maybe order something else since it would make beef burger meat very hard. The patty is too thin. Chicken burger is decent/ok, although the chicken is kinda thin. I prefer thicker juicier burgers so we were disappointed. Veggies in both the burgers were fresh, good, and plentiful.

Vibe: (3/5 stars). large bar type vibe. Laid back. Very dark. Nice to sit near windows. Tables r rusty and restaurant is kinda old looking. Very Close walk from central station.

Concerns: unfortunately, the plate that the fries were served on had a plastic/rubber coating that was peeling significantly so I was concern about it chipping and going into my food which would possibly make it toxic to consume :( bummer. For this reason, I won’t be returning.

I mean the food was amazing and so was her service! I just think the tables are either too high or too low to enjoy your meal properly

Introducing the KIM JONG ILLEST w/ added smoked beef brisket 😏 I'm just going to say it.. this is easily in my top 3 best burgers that I've ever had the pleasure of putting in my mouth 😍 such a good balance of flavours with a perfectly cooked, beautifully marinated fried chicken breast 👌 I haven't tasted a softer more tender deep fried chicken breast in a burger 🐣 9.5/10 for coin, portion and taste! Get down and check them out! It definitely isn't just hype 😉

Love the vibe of this place! The burgers are so good and you really can’t go wrong by ordering Ze Fries and the Oreogasm to finish. Don’t care if you are too full, it just fills in the cracks beautifully 😂

Stopped in for a quick cocktail on the weekend. Staff were really friendly, and the cocktails were well made, creatively designed and served. Of course the espresso martini came in a coffee cup!

My fav' burger in sydney. I have to agree it's not the cheapest one but it's really worth it. The service team there is really nice plus the fries are fantastic!!!

👏The dishes here are intense (in a good way). The burgers are loaded with so much stuff but it is really tasty. Ze Pickle hits the spot if you're down for something super unhealthy! You gotta try the deep fried baby bell cheese and definitely get some loaded fries for the side.

The restaurant has some good vibes, it is very dimly lit and has some Pacman light decor on the walls.

The photos are from 1 year ago and the place was so dark so my phone back then doesn't do it justice.

Sat there waiting for my order for 40mins, only to find out they didn’t put in my order. Apart from a couple, I was the only person there. Won’t be visiting again.

I got to try some tasty burgers and fries from @zepickle in Surry Hills called “Biting Buddha”
This burger has some tasty flavour combinations in it. With grilled Szechuan chicken, red chilli, lettuce, fried shallots (unfortunately too many shallots), charred haloumi, with kewpie mayo and sweet chilli sauce.
Also the “Ze Chips” are a must try so much flavour topped on top of golden crispy fries!

Thanks too fellow foodie friend @sydneyguyrojo for taking me along.

P.s the decor here is stunning

For more Vlogs check out my YouTube channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8CQlEE62GLokH8jGtAEajg
For more blogs check out my Instagram -
https://www.instagram.com/cutiefoodie_au/

The beef patty was one of those dense and dry ones that usually means mass-produced frozen patties - I'm pretty sure it's not frozen so I don't know how they managed to get it like this. No flavour in the sauce or ingredients either. Stupidly expensive for very ordinary burgers. We did have a brisket sandwich that was much better, with good tender brisket, but also with a slop of mac and cheese that the bun couldn't hold and which completely fell off within 30 seconds.

Great creative burgers and sides accompanied by well priced drinks and atmosphere to boot. The staff are responsive and polite attending to your every need

Food looked great however our burgers were extremely SWEET which left us feeling sick! it was also extremely pricey once you started to add extras onto the burger...
Overall not my kind of burger joint.. will not go back.

Went for a catch up with a friend on a sunday afternoon. Burger was nice but wasn't anything special to any gourmet burger joints so it's a little on the pricey side for what you're paying for. The Ze chips is nice. Nice friendly staff. All in all it's worth the 3 points :)

We came here with a Groupon coupon and it was pretty worth it. The burgers were decent, but the highlight was definitely the loaded fries! Covered in cheese and sauce and bacon, it was delicious and tasted like a heart attack. Otherwise, this place is a bar so it has the typical super dim lighting which I am not a fan of... I prefer to be able to see my food! I would say that it’s worth trying out, but I would also say that the burgers weren’t really all that memorable. However with the Groupon deal it was worth it for sure.

Amazing food and super friendly staff! Also can use eat club for discounts sometimes up to 50% off your bill. Love this place, highly recommended!

Decent burgers. Service could be a bit more friendly
It's a good place to go in a big group for drinks. The burgers are really really huge so keep that in mind while ordering

This place is great! Cool atmosphere, more of a bar late night kind of setting. I’ve been here once before and ordered “Ya Mum” burger. It was incredible! So I wanted to come back again! Second time ordered the “mash mash city” and “kayne’s mum” burger. I ordered the mash city with Kayne cheese sticks and they forgot to put them on. Luckily they have great service and gave us complimentary ones! But the chicken on the burg was kind of average. If your going to go I’d recommend the beef burgers for sure.
Inmibelly
This place is known for their loaded burgers where you could either build your own from their list of add ons or opt for their ‘mansize’ burgers from their menu. I came hungry and their normal sized burgers were just the right size for me (gotta save room for desserts too). Their burgers range from around $16-$39 but beware of their 40% off EatClub deals! With this, your bill gets slashed by almost half and it’s no doubt an absolute bargain.

I've been to the place around 4-5 times now and can safely say that everything but the burgers here is excellent which is quite ironic, The loaded fries with the in-house sauce is great so are the desserts and other starters, my burger of choice here is the chew by chew which is a very good burger on its day but is a little hit and miss, the last time I was here the patty was overcooked and dry and there wasn't enough sauce but otherwise it is great if cooked well, apart from the burger, even the staff are a bit hot & cold, I've pretty much always seen new staff everytime I went and the service has varied from being amazing and friendly to outright rude this one time. the place itself is very spacious unlike many others in the competition, oh and a special mention to the bubblegum lemonade. I'm giving a 4 instead of a 3 is because I'd go there again, they do a lot of offers on groupon or the fork all the time which brings the price down as well so always check before going if there's a sweet deal on this place.

Ordered the Pablo (beef patty with queso cheese, jalapeño, corn chips) and the Buffalo Blue (fried chicken with blue cheese coleslaw) (~$17). The Pablo is probably the safer option with its well cooked minced beef patty and its strong use of American cheese; the Buffalo Blue, in comparison, smacks you in the face with its overwhelming odour and is definitely quite a heavy option. With this said, the chicken was moist and tender and the service is also quite friendly. I don't think the burgers are priced reasonably though at the $17 plus range.

Was really hoping to like this place but unfortunately it falls short of expectations. My friend and I both ordered chicken based burgers and you'd think a piece of fried chicken between two pieces of bread would be amazing but unfortunately the chicken was dry and overcooked for both of us, my bread was a little stale and overall the burger was just lacking in much needed flavours. I'm hoping that the beef burgers are a lot better and am keen to try them but unfortunately won't be trying anymore of the chicken burgers.

+3 standard points for food
-1 you can’t really eat it with only your hands
+1 good pickle
+1 juicy patty

Pickles had a strong dill flavour, so much more nuanced than your store bought variety. The patty is really well balanced for fat content, but not so much a patty as beef mince temporarily mushed into a patty shape. Great with a beer.

Avoid:
Cookie dough dessert, it was just a sweet mess with a sharp sting of uncooked flour and different degrees of gloopiness.

Noise level: loud

Lighting is a little dim, but the restaurant is spacious, good for large groups to lone eaters.

I loved this place. The space and the decoration are the first things you will see, they are different and really creative. About the food, the burgers are really good, I liked the texture and the flavour of the meat of the burger, good size of burger. I have tried the Pablo Escoburger and the Chew by Chew. Also they have big dishes to share, specially chips with different toppings and sauces. The desserts do not stay back I recommend the Oreogazm a mix of Oreo biscuits and donuts. Also good craft beer. Very friendly staff. I recommend make a booking.

Came here on a Friday night. The table was wet and sticky. Took a long time to get any waiters'/waitresses' attention. Ordered the loaded fries and the Vege burger and my friend ordered one of the meat burgers. Although the menu said it was truffle buttered, I couldn't taste the slightest hint of truffle. This was a very average vege burger. Halfway through our dinner we were asked to move to another table which was slightly strange and inconvenient.

We decided to check out this place after noticing it on Groupon, which was the idea of many who were dining tonight. Service from staff was friendly and I liked the industrial vibe of the spacious restaurant.

With the staffs recommendation I went for the Ya mum and my husband had their 3am. Between the two, his was slightly better as mine was so wet and too difficult to eat with my hands. Had to ask for a knife and fork! With the loaded fries we shared before, everything was a bit too rich and greasy. My son enjoyed his plain Jane burger that’s under the kids menu. At first, the burger came by itself even though the menu states it is served with fries. Apparently no burger is served with fries, but when we showed them their menu, they quickly brought a big plate of fries, which made my son happy. As it was happy hour, some of the beer and house wines was $5.

While I’m glad we tried it, I’m not sure if we would be rushing back as there are many other burger place I want to check out in Sydney.

Came here with a groupon - was pretty excited based on the reviews. Unfortunately this place did not meet expectations. Food was still alright but definitely not worth the hype. Got the ze pickle loaded fries, ya mum and chew by chew. The loaded fries came out first and this was nice for the first few bites. Got pretty sickening half way and and chips were super fried so barely had any potato left inside. The burgers came out together and I’d have to say the ya mum tasted much better than the chew by chew. Unfortunately both burgers were overcooked and meat was very dry. The chew by chew had barely any sauce so it was an extremely dry burger. The ya mum burger tasted much better because of the truffle sauce.

Overall, the burgers weren’t horrible but they weren’t amazing either. Likely won’t be back. Service was ok and ambience was nice. The atmosphere was of a rustic, grunge. (Even the tables were rusted).

Awesome Burgers, great service and excellent choice of craft beers on tap! Have dined here on more than one occasion 👍🏻! The chicken burgers are so juicy
Belly Rumbler
Passionate staff, great beer selection and most importantly amazing food.
I’ve been to Ze Pickle three times now and every time I’ve had a different burger (my personal favourite is the ‘Southern Hick’), but I’ve always had the same chips.. ‘Ze Chips’. They are honestly the best chips I think I’ve ever had. They are perfectly cooked and topped with a special sauce, maple bacon and an IPA cheese sauce!!
Be sure to check them out when you’re in Sydney, you won’t regret it.
Paige MacKander
If you are looking for a place to book for an easy meal with a group of friends this is the place to go. Ze Pickle has a great atmosphere, decent food and awesome customer service!
Ann
The staffs were very friendly and professional, loved it!
However, the burgers and sweet potato fries were very average. Given this place's burgers were on the pricey side, I would expect them to be larger portion and tastier. There was very little salt in the burger, which I found good for myself, but in terms of general taste, they would be too bland. Overall, amazing service, but food does need to be improved with no doubt.
Forking Around Sydney
One of our favourite fast food places in Sydney, but not for the burgers! The Ze Chips are the best loaded fries around with its mix of salty and sweet (although they could be a little hotter when served), while the insane richness of their desserts (just read the description of the Twix Tacos) is nothing short of superb. The burgers are a good standard while the chicken wings are very crispy and moreish, but we would come back every time for the fries and desserts, calories be damned.
On The Food Hunt
Ze Pickle was really good. Walked in and the waiter was super attentive. Loved everything. The cookie dough skillet was a little undercooked but the waiter fixed it up straight away and offered us another dessert of our choice. So we choose fried Oreos, so glad we did because they were amazing! The loaded fries were epic! Would definitely recommend
Kathy
I was drunk most of the time so I don’t remember much but what I do remember is the extremely friendly staff & really good burger. I also recall having a mojito that was really good!

Great meal at Ze Pickle, good ambiance and great food. Being a vegetarian I was pleased with the burger I ordered accompanied with sweet potato fries. Will definitely be back again ! 👍

How good is our city?! The diversity and variety on offer, truly staggering! As soon as we crossed Elizabeth Street into Surry Hills, the cultural make-up changed and so did the dining venues. Ze Pickle was a breath of fresh air from what we’re used to, living/working here down in South CBD/Chinatown. Walking through the unassuming doorway/tinted glass frontage, you’re first welcomed by the thumping bass of early 00s-current hip hop music, from the vibe of the place alone you’d know you’re in for an experience!

We were quickly seen to a table, an industrial-looking metal table situated on polished concrete floors, surrounded by low low stools (so low that if you’re tall, your knees will be situated higher than your butt). The coolness of the restaurant continued on, even to the menus, where car license plates were the covers, opening you to a world of burger options (each with detailed descriptions of what you’d expect to be served in your bread stack).

Dining with a Groupon voucher (choice of any two burgers to the value of $19; “Ze chips” (fries) to share; and any 2 glasses of soft drinks to the value of $5), we opted for the Pablo Escoburger- a Mexican flavoured burger with a pressed Wagyu beef patty; a Buffalo Blue chicken burger- crunchy chicken fillet smeared in blue cheese; Ze fries- we chose sweet potato over the normal spud offering; and for an extra $1 each, we upgraded our regular soft drinks to the Bubble gum lemonade (a big glass which was large enough to be shared).

As we waited for our food, we took in the surroundings- a funky modern setting which had an industrial vibe (bare brick wall and polished concrete floors); an artsy bar with light play and light art; and a padded wall paying homage to a versatile organic/fabric/relaxant (it’ll make sense when you see it). So young hipsters would feel right at home, with the thumping hip hop music tracks (we were border-line being out of place ourselves, although when I was 20 I used to be a Hip Hop DJ, but that was over 15 years ago). Thus looking around at the rest of the clientele this arvo, we had to raise our collective eyebrows at the rest of the other diners, as it did look a little out-of-place for the vibe. Aside from one non-Asian couple, everyone else eating that lunch hour were Asian! So were we! Remember, we had come here on a Groupon voucher! There was an adult family (adult children accompanied by their middle-aged parents) who had to be also on an offer/voucher; a couple in their 50-60s (again me think voucher/offer); and the later arriving couple who were seated next to us, the first interaction they had with the waitress was to inform her that they were dining with a 30% off Dimmi offer (although we were on a 50% off Groupon voucher……. Suckeers!).

But we soon forgot this anomaly when first our B-gum sodas arrived (first sip you could really taste the difference, the bubble gum flavour reminded you of a bag of skittles), followed closely by our large plate of steaming hot sweet potato fries, which came with a complex flavoursome mayo dipping sauce, and the chippies were best eaten while hot and crunchy (going cold and soggy quite quickly).

Our burgers were towering things (please see exhibit B), capped off by a pickle skewered on top of each burger (their signature) hence the name of the store, and the initial stand-out which attracted me to this place after reading reviews. They say, the test of a good burger is when each bite of your burger you’re able to get all of the ingredients of your burger into a single mouthful i.e. burger stack not too tall, and meat patties not too small and skewed to one side or just in the middle of your burger. So I limbered up my jaw joints and took the biggest bite I could physically manage, and it was a good burger! I managed to get my teeth around both top and bottom buns, slaw coated in their signature ZP sauce (picture a spicy tomato/BBQ sauce hybrid) didn’t escape my bite, a good bit of chicken in its crunchy outer batter was also torn free, melted cheese was in there somewhere, and the beautiful flavour of the blue cheese was also tasted in my first bite. Yum! Unfortunately for my wife (thankfully she doesn’t have a mouth as large as mine), she had less luck on her first bite as things were already shooting out the other end of her burger. The stand-out for her Escoburger, was the Wagyu beef patty, it was like cheese had been mixed into the mince before cooking, so that when served up the melted cheese acted as a binder among the already tasty meat. Mmmm. And after smashing our burgers in record time, fingers sticky with sauce (that wasn’t a bad thing) we worked on finishing our large plate of fries and our soft drinks (although we each left behind around half a glass).

As we were seated near the cash register, as each group came out to pay we were reminded of the clientele make-up again. Our hunch was confirmed, when each diner pulled out their phones at time of payment to redeem their vouchers/offers, and surprise surprise, the only non-Asian couple, they did not have a voucher. The cashier even asked them if they had a voucher to redeem, and there was a definite shake of the head for no. BTW Zomato had a 20% off if you booked in advance; Dimmi had a 30% discount offer; when Groupon had two combos, each slicing 50% off the regular menu price. Although, Ze Pickle themselves had a special, burger combo (which included fries) for $15, which is around a 40% discount. All of these deals were great for us the customer, but I’m not sure if that is a sustainable business model for them in the long run as in the time we were there we didn’t see more than a total of $80 being handed over.

Our end verdict, 4.0 stars (Napkin test also 4 stars). The burgers were the best we had in recent times (better than Grill’d, Burger Edge, Burger Project or Duck In Duck Out), they were full of flavour, everything from the food to the store décor had character and a twist to it, but the important question…..would we ever come back again? Probably not, if we had to pay full price (as it’s hard to pay for something which you know that you had once gotten the exact same thing for much less). But if it was with another deal…maybe? 50/50? The burgers were good, but there is so much more out there to be tried! Sydney is good, we’re so spoiled for choice. GILTY (God I Love This citY)!

We bought through Groupon and before go I did not know what to expect. The place and the staff are nice and cool. The burgers and fries were
amazing. Definitely one place you must go.
The Miniature Life
I've been wanting to try out Ze Pickle for some time now, since so many people had told me how great the burgers were. We've passed the restaurant plenty of times, however never went in. Walking in we were greeted by incredibly friendly staff, and a great ambiance. The walls looked so fun covered in Spanish posters, and the intimate lighting was awesome.
Menu: 9/10
I love the variety of offerings, in terms of burgers and sides too
Food: 8/10
We ordered the Pablo Escobar and the Vego Friend. I really enjoyed my Pablo Escobar - the mince meat was flavoured wonderfully and the spice was just the right amount. This burger really hit the spot in terms of the cravings for something tangy and tasty. Definitely recommend this burger if you enjoy heat, and if you want to try something with an interesting texture. The Vego Friend was an okay burger, but I think some additional seasoning to he mushroom would be better. For us there wasn't a clear stand-out wow factor to this.
Service: 9/10
Service was super friendly, and we got plenty of help too (always love this). The food was cooked quickly also.
Ambiance: 8/10
Loved the intimate setting
Value for money: 7.5/10
I think the burgers aren't too large for the price you pay. I found them just the right size though for my appetite, but you probably will need a side to accompany your burger.
Keen to try the other burgers!!

Came here with some work pals as a farewell dinner before moving to Melbourne. It made me not want to leave Sydney... great service, burgers are absolutely stunning, the venue is just fun, relaxed and just feels like a great place to be. You'll be one of the top places I come to visit when I'm back! X

Ze Pickle has a nice atmosphere at night with good customer service, but...

I was really excited to try out the burgers there because of the excellent ratings, but I somehow much preferred the wings over the burgers.

My friend and I ordered two different burgers, however both of our burgers were quite dry and overcooked. The beef patty was very bitter (and oily) because of how overdone it was. Personally wouldn't recommend the burgers but enjoyed the spicy wings.
Dizappointed
This place was amazing. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a tasty burger. If you like burgers and have cash to spare, drop everything and book a table right now.

If you wanna make sure that you’re gonna get bang for you buck (spoiler alert: you will), please read on.

The menu alone convinced me that we were going to have a jolly old time. What fun and funky names I have never seen before. For reference, I ordered the ‘Mac Burger Pro’, whose patty was made of MACARONI AND FREAKIN CHEESE. Crumbled and deep friend, my gall bladder is still crying out for mercy. But it was SO GOOD. (May have to forward my cardiac surgeons bills to this place in future, but that’s a risk I’m more than willing to take). The fillings were crisp and fresh, burger was hot and absolutely SCRUMMY. Also got some kumera fries, which, dare I say it, were the best I’ve have in my entire life. Not to brag, but I’ve had a LOT of those in my life, so that’s really saying something. Also shared some desserts, as they looked too delightful to pass up but due to the burgers and fries we simply could not fit an entire one in our screaming stomachs. The ‘Oreogasm’ warranted a little blush upon ordering, but I was left embarrassed that I had never tasted such wonders before that day after consuming it. Oh what joy! The others were okay, probably wouldn’t order again but still good.

The service and the ambiance of the place was fantastic. Our server was kind, charismatic and prompt. What more could you ask for, really? Made this great experience into a fantastic one, and I assure he would do the same for you (wish I could remember his name, alas I was consumed by the wondrous foodstuff in front of me). Carrying a distinctly ‘hipster’ vibe, I did not feel too out of place as the staff were so warm. This feeling may have been helped by the wonderful ‘Salter Caramel Espresso Martini’ I partook in. My cup truly runneth over!

Took 0.5 stars off because I am but a poor university student and can not afford to come here every single day (‘tis fairly pricey) but still one of the best burger joints this side of the Pacific.

Treat yourself. And me if you’re feeling particularly generous. (Groupon have a great offer for a cheap feed. You’re welcome.)
Al&Val
Love the rustic feel of this place but it is a bit dim further inside the restaurant (I sat closer to the window where the lighting was better). Went for the triple loco which was an insane burger to tackle. Loved every bit of it, wish the tower was never-ending! Everything here was freshly made, had the right texture and taste. Our maple bacon was slightly burnt but could still get a hint of the maple so it was passable. Overall, enjoyed the experience here and it definitely is a top burger place to go to in Sydney!
Kerri
3.5 stars really

I liked that this place was offering variations from standard burger combinations. I'm glad I went and tried it but i knew from the menu that their style wasn't what I normally enjoy/ crave. This place does decadent, cheesy, greasy, hangover style burgers and I generally prefer more fresh flavours.
I had the chee-ze. I liked eating it but wouldn't say it left me craving to come again.
A friend had the brisket burger with Mac n cheese. The Mac n cheese fell out on every bite. They said they expected a slice of brisket as opposed to chopped up pieces that also fell out.
Another friend had the Pablo escoburger which also fell apart. They were dabbing the burger to get all the excess grease off it.
Kumera fries weren't crunchy but still enjoyable with the sauce that comes on the side.
Also for the price I expected the burgers to be larger or at least come with fries.

Can’t go wrong with this place. Got the 3am. Love the deep fried cheese sticks. Great burger !! Ze fries are awesome too. Friendly staff and decent service.
Edbert Prathama
The Chee-ze Burger was great, well-cooker wagyu patty accompanied by crispy bacon, onion rings, and brioche buns. The patty was fragrant, tender and juicy, the sauce was just enough. The buns were fluffy and the pickle was uniquely placed on top of the burger.
Killian Couteau
Burgers were good hence the 2 stars. Service was very poor. We had to wait 20 mins for drinks and an hour for two burgers. Water was given in warm glasses. Waiter never came back to us when we asked if we could have one more drink before closing. Finally no compensation was given to apologise.
Emily
One of the best places to eat burgers and as a person who don’t really like pickles, these pickles were awesome (sweet, juicy & flavourful). Also had sweet potato chips, the saucing with it was really nice but the chips itself were average and would rather had another burger.

The staff were friendly and good customer service in providing details of food except at the beginning we weren’t sure how ordering worked(counter/at desk).

The ambience was great for a night out and the toilets were clean but no soap. I think soap will be good for digging into my burger comfortably.

Overall, I would go there again with a bigger group knowing booking is available and food were filling for a reasonable price. 100% recommend!

Just wished I got a rainbow lolly in my drink, maybe ran out but still the cocktails were refreshing!
Loveeatingfood
We got the southern hick and this Wagyu burger which I don’t remember the name of. We got it delivered and the only downside was that the burgers were not labelled resulting in me accidentally eating my friends burger instead of my own. However the burger was yummy! Overall, would definitely recommend and eat here again.
Karan Rawat
The serve burgers like no other place in Sydney. At least from the number of places I have tried.
I had the Reubeno for the first time which is basically a burger with wood smoked pastrami, Swiss cheese, pickles and a couple of sauces. The meat was shredded and the pickles took the burger to another dimension. By far one of the best burgers in town!
Xlittlecupcake
Tried the “it’s chewy moite” burger and loaded fries - both were delicious - if you’re looking for a jooci burger in the city, definitely check out Ze Pickle!
Chey_ct
This is one of my favourite burger joints. First of all, I love the place. It's big and there's plenty of seating. I love the decor and the staff are super friendly. Best of all, the burgers are mind blowing. Absolutely everything in the burger is just perfect.

*drool* The 3am burger makes me salivate every time I think about it! Much deliciousness from this place! There was a fantastic waiter from the states there who upsold a ginger beer and rum to us the first time we went here. I've had that drink every time I've been back (even though it's a little pricey) because it was so delicious! Please come to Melbourne ASAP!

You don’t know what it’s really like to have an emotional connection with a burger until you visit Ze Pickle in Surry hills😍
So much to say about these guys and I don’t know where to start!!
Firstly, the staff are AMAZING! So helpful and lovely, they made my first visit super enjoyable🙏🏽
Secondly, THE FOOOOD. Phenom. I got the Chee-ze burger, my partner got KANYES MUM (which is a massive must because it basically is a glimpse of what ze pickle is all about), and we shared the sweet potato and ze chips! Massive highlight was ze chips - they were loaded with maple bacon bits, cheese sauce and zp sauce - I would legit come back just for these they were ridiculous!!!!😍🍟🍔
Highly recommend everyone pay them a visit! Guaranteed you won’t be disappointed 👌🏼

Amazing food with very helpful and polite staff will be going back again! The Ya Mum burger was so juicy and was exactly what the boys were looking for

Decided to try this place as one of my patients at work recommended i pop by as it is one of her favourite burger joints. I can honestly say, the proportions of the burgers are just right! From the bread, to patty, sauce and vegetables - the ratio is absolutely perfect! Although its such a filthy burger, the ratio is matches fittingly with our tastebuds. Ya mum had fries inside the burger, but not enough to overpower it. We added bacon and it enhanced the taste, rather than giving off that greasy aftertaste. The kim jong illest was basically korean fried chicken burger. The chicken was juicy and it was bursting with flavour. The dessert was also very good! It just needed abit more icecream, but if you’re not a sweet tooth, this might be too sweet for you! Otherwise, this is easily one of my favourite burger joints. Highly recommend it! The service is really good and quick!

Pretty chilled ambience and lighting. Ordered the Ya Mum and WHOTHEFKISMAXBRENNER desert. The burger wasn’t too saucy or too crispy on the maple bacon. It was just 👌🏻. Burgers are more for lunch or dinner dates. Would come back to munch down on other burgers

My new fave burger spot in Sydney! Their burgers are HUGE, well worth every dollar, and their combinations are unique + yummy. +1 point for their names as well hahaha
Memo
Fairly solid burger joint.

Pros: pretty massive and epic burgers. Wings are hella tasty. Good drink selection.

Cons: night depends on your server... some are overly friendly to the point where you feel like you gotta say "ur not working for tips". Don't get me wrong, I am all for good service but sometimes it can get overbearing even if for the best intentions. A bit on the pricey side!

On a chill Friday night, Matt and I head to Ze Pickle in Surry Hills. There's a huge ZP sign outside in case you miss it. Who's craving a burger?. Ze Pickle is very dimly lit with a number of stools by the bar and long tables to the right. The staff are very attentive, giving you a menu and coming back quickly for an order. Matt just wants some time to look at the menu which is several pages long and I could tell he feels quite rushed. I chat away with the staff asking them what their favourite burgers are.

I’ve heard a lot about this venue but haven’t had a chance to visit them until recently.
This venue has a young and trendy vibe with a touch of American style decor.
On top of American style burgers and dessert they also serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Their Bubble Gum lemonade (non-alcoholic drink) was pretty awesome!
For the beef burger I ordered ‘Kanye’s Mum’ ‘cause it sounds epic. Wow. Epic indeed. Hands down one of the best loaded Wagyu Beef Burger I’ve ever tasted!
Everything was bang on and those Kanye’s fried cheese sticks.. the bomb! Highly recommend.
For the chicken burger I had ‘Southern Hick’ with Macaroni Bomb. Again, another top notch burger. The fried chicken was so crispy but still juicy on the inside. Lots of perfectly melted cheese was also greatly appreciated :)
I’ve never tried macaroni bomb before and it was so good. Definitely a tasty ‘extra’ to add in to your burger.
Then it was time to order the dessert. Pardon my language but I ordered the #whothefxxxismaxbrener.
Just imagine this.. baked Twix and choc chip cookie dough skillet with ice cream and marshmallow gravy!
There’s also an option to add Reece’s Peanut Butter Cups. As a Peanut Butter lover, of course I said yaass :)
This dessert was a little bit too sweet for my liking but I didn’t mind at all as it was so good and indulgent.
Overall, we had an amazing dining experience there and these two burgers I just had are now in my Top Burgers list.

Located on Foveaux Street in an airy, industrial space, Ze Pickle definitely has a very cool vibe. The first time I visited was for a late dinner on a weeknight, it was quiet so we were seated immediately by a friendly waitress. The cocktail menu looked great so I'd definitely like to revisit and have a drink next time!

Today, I chose the 'It's Chewy Moite' from the Not So Hidden Burger Menu - beef patty, american and swiss cheese, smoked pastrami, onion, bacon and mustard mayo sauce ($20) + added zp sauce upon recommendation from a friend (+$2), and a side of kumera chips (sweet potato) with zp sauce ($10).

The kumera chips are pretty overpriced for the amount we received but god damn the zp sauce is amazing and incredibly addictive! The burger was juicy, well balanced and extremely tasty. I'll definitely be adding zp sauce to anything that doesn't come with it from Ze Pickle in future :')

I'd give Ze Pickle a 4.5 based on this experience alone but it's been bumped down to 4 based on a more recent experience through UberEats. I understand the burger is always better fresh so Ze Pickle is not to blame for a cold burger with once-melted cheese. I ordered the Southern Hick fried chicken burger, which was juicy and delicious with an exceptional crunch to the fried chicken but overall quite dry because there was only a tiny bit of sauce. Not sure if this was a mistake but it was not well balanced for me.

Despite this experience, I'd love to go back to Ze Pickle and try some other burgers!

Danny, our server was welcoming from the second we stepped in. Very chill bloke! He’s tried everything on the menu at least once so if you want recommendations, go to him! Whole place had such a great vibe. Bar tender was extremely nice as well!!! Great drinks, insane proportion for the burgers and great atmosphere. Would highly recommend to anyone that loves burgers. I’ll come back every weekend if I could!

Nice bar and restaurant on Foveaux
Street near Central Station. Needed a quick bite to eat after the Swans match before heading home so checked this place.

Warmly greeted at the door and immediately seated and water brought over. The burgers looked over the top when I eyed them off. Wondered why they didn’t come with fries and noticed everyone with fork and knives. You’ll need them with what the burgers loaded with. You won’t need the fries! Had the Pecan Wood Smoked Brisket Burger which came with melt in the mouth smoked beef brisket, mac n cheeze, and fried onion. Added the optional maple bacon and corn chips. Looking at the extras, crispy fried
chicken was calling out to me as well to make fully loaded! The burger was oh so tasty and definitely filled me up. Nice soft bun loaded with the tender beef, crispy chicken, soft mac n cheese, and crunchy sweet bacon.

Well worth a detour for.

Unfortunately the atmosphere was drab and our waitress didn’t speak to us, she just used hand gestures to point to a table. It wasn’t very welcoming. It then took a long time for her to come back with menus before she disappeared again to have a conversation with a coworker behind the bar. After waiting a while we got up to leave. Again, without speaking, she looked at us and shrugged, then turned around and finished her conversation.

It’s excessive for my taste, but I think that’s the premise of the place. I ordered the “3am” ($18.50) which starred Ze Pickle’s “cheeze sticks” (crumbed and deep fried cheese croquettes), maple bacon, “zp sauce” and guacamole. I’d ordered sans bacon, but staff forgot (no big deal, just picked it off - blasphemous for bacon lovers I’m sure). The beef patty had a nice medium consistency to it (pink in the middle, great for me but no doubt contentious), lending to a texture / mouth feel that I like. The burger had good structural integrity given size. Overall however, the whole was less than the sum of the parts. Way too rich (from the cheese sticks) / sweet (from the maple) and nothing to balance out the fat - needed some acidity. If Ze Pickle offered the same patty and bun with lettuce, tomato and cheese, it would be 10x better. The Chee-ze looks close, but the maple bacon would probably overdo it. I know, remove the Bacon? But, is it really a good burger if you have to make your own modifications? Excess is the premise as mentioned, and I’m definitely not the target market.

Decent burgers...nothing that blew my socks off but certainly above average. Fries were sublime...almost as good as the fries I had at 'Chicken & Sons' a couple of weeks back. And the dipping sauce...my gosh, the sauce...they need to start selling that stuff at the supermarket! I also noticed the staff were very warm, down to earth and chatty, which is always welcome when you're a lone diner like me in this case.

Ze Pickle is an American burger bar along Foveaux Street in Surry Hills. The cult Queensland burger joint’s first offshoot in Sydney features some killer burgers, unassuming food with easy-listening house beats rumbling in the background.

There were three menus for their burgers: the chook lovers, the typical burgers and the “not so hidden menu” where you can find all the fancy burgers. I got a Kanye’s Mum, which comprises a pressed wagyu beef patty, maple bacon, cheese sticks, smoked jalapeños, fries, butter and truffle. The bombastic combination is excellent as a whole, though I got really messy thereafter.

The beef patty was inexplicably dry - the minced patty was dry, rough and overcooked. However, the dryness was compensated with a mountain of sauces. The unlikely combination of truffle, cheese and their signature zp sauce was fantastic and hydrates your palate as you wolf down the jumbo burger. It would be perfect though, if the beef patty was done good (like Mary’s)

If you’re after an indulgent carb fat filled dinner - this is the place to go! Amazing burgers and their loaded fries are sooooo good!! Have their Kanye’s mum burger - it’s on their secret menu!

One of the best burger join around.
You need to come several times to try all of this delish burger, and I’m not joking!
For my self I try one burger at the time makes you appreciate the the flavor more, and you can soaked all of the calories and fattiness goodness and keep it “still” under control. 😝
Not sure how much calories in “bomb.com” for example.
My goodness, this pressed Wagyu patty, topped with fried gnochi ( so uniquely add eating experience, because the texture of it ), spinach and mozzarella spread, pepperoni, pizza sauce fresh basil and chilli flakes, makes you wonder, is it burger or is it pizza or is it pasta with crazy inventive topping!
Anyway, burger taste awesome! After finishing this you will smile Victory with happiness in your stomach!

Jasmin
I love Ze Pickle. The atmosphere is really relaxed and the staff is friendly. Since I eat mainly vegetarian I had their burger "That Vego friend" both times I visited and it was really great - probably one of the best burgers I've had. My boyfriend really liked his burger too. However, we recommend adding "health" (=lettuce and tomato) to the burger if it doesn't come with it to balance out the heavy meat.
Hayley
Jasmine has always encouraged me to come to this place, she said it was really good!

We got here around 5:30 and its happy hour, so we got wings and beer too.
The buffalo wings are a bit too sour(?) or salty (cant be sure), but their burgers are pretty phenomenal.

I got the bomb.com and jasmine had the southern hicks. Mine has fried gnocchi, the reason i ordered it. The flavours all came together very well. Jasmine’s fried chicken is a bit dry, but is none the less very satisfying.

Good value and swift service. Will definitely come again!
OneHungryHuman
Over the top everything! Burgers, fries & cocktails. Arrive with an appetite and leave in a food coma. The menu has something for everything. Burgers don't come with fries which I thought was a little strange, so don't forget to order a side of fries. Reasonable priced for the product that is places in front of you!
Recommended - Suicide wings! Try them at your own risk

Ze Pickle has been around for approximately 2 Years. Close to central station, it is perfect to pop in after work or make it your weekend socialising venue. Not just a burger place, rather a restaurant that is all about the experience. Pop into the bar for a drink and enjoy a cocktail or two with loaded fries, hot wings, unique burgers and out of this world crazy desserts.

I went to Ze pickle for the first time. The place was recommended by my friend for burgers. To be honest I wasn’t expecting anything different from Hungry Jacks or Maccas...I ordered buffalo chicken burger with blue cheese. It was yummy!! I loved it. I ordered some cider as well so the combination was really good.
Service is really good and fast. We got our burgers in no less than 15mins.
Ambience is the most important thing and that is what amazed me that evening. The ambience is apt for evening relax time. The restaurant isn’t too far from the station so no matter where you are coming from this place isn’t far from central station.
I would rate this restaurant 4.3/5 👍🏻
Have been here a couple of times now and its definitely become a favourite. The menu holds some amazing options and all of them are simply delicious! There is a great atmosphere that escapes the bustle of Central but the perfect chill of Surry Hills.
Would definitely recommend for a simple catch up or a date night!

Funky American dudefood joint with quality drinks list, good tunes and relaxed vibe. Unfortunately is let down by burgers that are lacking in real flavour. Service on our day was below par but it was a busy afternoon - we were told we couldn’t have water as they “were out of glasses”, brought an incorrect drinks order (they resolved it), and an incorrect food order (unresolved).

I wanted a burger. Chur burger was closed so I came to Ze Pickle. I ordered the basic burger and fries. The problem is that I always eat the fries one by one then eat the burger. So when I get to the burger it's soggy and I am not hungry anymore. To make matters everything still tastes weird because of the chest infection.

I am giving this a 4 because it has potential. I have to try it again.
Pete
So, it's about the food, isn't it... It's a shame really, because it's such a good looking place and right near Central station but it is about the food. And that's a shame. You see, the food is just not worth talking about. In fact, to forget it would be the most complementary thing. The patty tastes like a frozen variety rather than house made. The bun heavy and poor, condiments bland and cheese was truly awful. And that's without mentioning the overpriced menu. I've had better tasting chicken heroes.
The Naked Food Addict
Quite enjoyed the atmosphere of this popular burger joint located in Surry Hills. Easy street parking on the weekend out the front, great service, and the food was good too. I tried the chew by chew which has double pressed wagyu beef patties, double american cheese with stout smoked bacon (which I swapped to maple bacon because i'm #obsessed), bbq cream and smoked jalapenos. I also added a mac and cheese patty too. I was a little dissapointed with the mac and cheese patty (and I always have this problem because I personally like the really sharp mac and cheese) because I felt like there wasn't alot of flavour, but overall the burger itself was still good. We also ordered all of the desserts- so we tried out the "chocolate nachos" (which I personally thought were a tad oily but the marshmellows and brownie salsa was delicious) the "oreogazm" which I didn't personally love, but my friend enjoyed them, and my personal favourite... the "#whothef*ckismaxbrener" which was a baked twix & chocolate chip cookie dough skillet with ice cream and marshmellow gravy. HOLY HECK! I would return even just for this dessert. It was so gooey and melty and warm and cooked to perfection *droooools*.... you need to get your hands on it!
Frankiieshungrytummy
The food here was pretty good but we found the prices a little bit expensive.
The burgers ranged from 16 to 18.50. I would have expected to pay that if they were larger portions.
The bubblegum lemonade was $8 and it just reminded me of a lift with a dash of bubblegum syrup.
Three service was good though and the deco funky but the lighting was bad especially if you're going to take photos. You're best to go during the day.
Other than that, the experience was pretty enjoyable.
Foa Pili
Service here was good and is set in a trendy industrial looking place with nice long tables making this a good meet up with friends for a drink venue just be warned the ginger beer is $12 while the average glass of wine was $9. Ended up here because the pub across the way was packed. But hey the burgers here looked delicious from the pictures, I ordered the recommend KFZe burger I was really underwhelmed the bun was very dry as well as the chicken the only save was the load of coleslaw in the burger nothing that would say wow that burger was worth $17 nah than my friend got here burger which gave me food envy it was the meat burger with corn chips and was really tasty yip I got to taste it but no swaps we also ordered sweet potato fries and this could have done with abit longer in the fryer as it was soft and mushy. I would not recommend the food here No but maybe meet friends for a few bevvies (not ginger beer though) shame really it's nice setting.

After a long work week, my partner and I were looking for a hard drink and some soul warming food. Burger joints have been popping up in Sydney left, right, and centre. How can this one compare to the heavy weights?

We frequent surry hills and often pass this cool looking establishment. Both food and drink were well presented and appeared to match the hefty price.

Alas, we were both let down as the flavours were just satisfactory. The burger had a thicker bun (quite stale) to filling ratio and we really did want the food to match the really good vibes the place had. Disappointed but we may come back to give them another chance.

Doughnutfukwitdis -double wagyu beef, Nutella smoked bacon, double jack cheese on a doughnut time original glazed donut. This place never disappoints !

Came here for a birthday bash.
I'll get straight to the bare bones!
Atmosphere was and open sort of standard modernised feel.
Got the 3AM burger.
To be honest the burger didn't work well for me. Cheese sticks were a little random and were overpowered by the flavour of the maple bacon.
The beef pattie itself was above average in quality and taste.
Burger 3.5/5 (Above average)
Chips 2.75 (Average)

I'd give it another shot.
MisschievousEats
Empty during the day, most popular at night. Cocktails and drink selection was great and tasted great. Really enjoyed the bar food selection, especially the buffalo wings. Burgers were tasty too, a standard good burger.
Phoebe Keen
Came here for an indulgent Monday night feed with the girls. It was great! However my burger was huge! I didn't finish it, but the burger was delicious. The desserts were fantastic and were devoured quickly. They don't have a booking system on Mondays - Thursdays because it doesn't get that busy during the week, but definitely book on weekends if you can. I could imagine it being super busy on weekends based on the "burger hysteria" and the fact that it is situated so central to Sydney city!

I will be back, but probably for lunch next time instead of dinner.
Greg Gavalas
My burger was ok but my colleagues loved their burgers which says the overall quality is good. Bun is bit sweet but all in all very good. Chips & sauce also good
Lalin Ranatunga
Good atmosphere. Some bars have very loud music and it's hard to hear anyone. The music was good that you can hear it but you can still have a conversation. They have a good selection of cocktails. Friendly staff. Good service.
Richie Simm
Very nice bugers and chips, i was there with 1 mate and we had the fries, 2 bugers and 2 drinks drinks it all came to $65 which i thought was quite reasonable. Definitely a different experience if you are into burgers.
Zoe Lang
The burgers you get from Ze pickle are damn good burgers!
Love the quality in what they deliver, and how they have set themselves apart from the rest of the burger places around Sydney. They've defiantly got there own thing going on!
And let's be honest... mac and cheese and corn chips on a burger, It's the complete package.
We'll defiantly be going back and making our way through the rest of the menu including some of the kick ass looking desserts!
Love their vibes, love their food, and love the quality of service you get when you step through the front door!
Anna
We were actually on our way for drinks elsewhere, but Ze pickle really grabs your attention and you just can't help stopping to see what it's all about. It had such great vibes so we decided to just settle for here.

Service deserves a mention because everyone was super lovely, helpful and efficient. They were pretty busy and asked if we wanted to sit at the bar while we wait for a table, but we weren't after a meal anyway so quickly agreed.

Got a bubblegum lemonade (lol tastes nothing like bubblegum) while my friend got one with vodka (said it tasted like no alcohol). The sweet potato fries were a tad on the salty side but still okay.

Clearly you'd come here for the burgers, the ones that came out were crazy creations, so much so I had to ask if I could take a photo of the massive one which came out next to us. However nothing on the menu is to my liking so not sure if I'll go back.

Regardless, it's a great place to chill and the staff are laidback and friendly so it makes for a good place to eat/drink.
SuperSamson
Queensland burgerlords doing their thing in Sydney... Mad props for having burgers that are so funky fresh. The donut burger and the pablo escoburger are so crazy. They're not the best tasting burgers but I'd gladly eat it again cause it's so crazy. (maybe not the donut burger, it was way too sweet with the sugar glazed donut and the maple bacon)

Really nice atmosphere with great tunes. The cocktails are actually really good. Not normally a fan of cocktails but they were very good.

So, looks like a successful concept imported from the Gold Coast (and then Brisbane) and now to Foveaux Street in Surry Hills. I’ve walked by this place a few times, and been intrigued: it’s a huge, open space and certainly inviting compared to the closed in pubs and little restaurants. And though it’s buzzy and hip, it’s also really relaxed, and the tables are spaced out enough that it was both busy but really comfortable to be in.
Martin Cendana
The place itself has got that Hipster feel to it. Good vibes in there.

Food is de-li-cious!! I had the special for the week but I forgot the name of it. Mac Cheese with Meat Pattie and Maple Bacon. That maple Bacon is amazing. We also had Buffalo wings and Sweet Potato Fries..

Great choice for the burger heads!!
Lee
Yum yum yum yum x infinity. The donut burger was absolutely everything and the cookie skillet dessert was amazing. I am drooling just thinking about it. Loved the loaded fries too.
Jen
We had a Pablo Escoburger and Ya Mama with a plate of kumara fries. Fries were so good but definitely not needed, the burgers were amazing but so filling, struggled to finish everything.
