Amazing authentic Lebanese dishes. Cocktails, wine, mains and dessert were all delicious

I am regular and it's important to be honest as there's always room for improvement no matter where you go!
Love their banana bread! And the coffee is good overall (pending on who makes it) hence why I keep going back. The lunch and dinner menu prices are expensive for this area, however breakfast is nice & not that pricey, the servings are decent.
I believe there are new owners on board, that might explain the rise in price? Staff are always accommodating, friendly and polite.

My experience of Shisha Bar & Grill was mixed. The staff was really lovely and the decor was beautiful. The owner greeted us and I believe he designed the interior himself. However for me, this is a restaurant, and food counts for a lot, and with the exception of the Knafeh dessert (quite good) we were very disappointed with the food. The calamari, while looking amazing, was tasteless, tough and stringy. When the Picanha steak arrived we expected more, but was similarly tasteless, and chewy. The reason for this negative review however is that when we politely returned the food, we were still charged for it without an apology, creating an awkward experience for the rest of our night there. The owner tried to justify that they "just want to do simple food well, not trying to win any awards". In my experience, I don't believe Shisha Bar & Grill managed to do simple food well. Hopefully your experience is better.

My brother and I are new to the area and needed to source out a local Shisha bar. We did a quick google search and found Shisha 61. We were pretty hesitant simply because the reviews weren't great but being five minutes from our place, we thought we'd give it a go.
What the hell is wrong with the people posting? This place is great and Mike and Bianca are freaking top people. Coffee is fantastic, food was great and so was the Shisha, all served with a smile and good chit chat. Been back a few times now and never disappointed.

Recently renovated (feels expensive) with a very modern feel and a great bar. Downstairs, outside and upstairs seating away from the road. Mediterranean entrees, with mains mostly steaks, ribs and burgers. Great dessert menu as well, with chocolate praline tart being my favourite. Good service and moderately priced.

These guys have got it right!
As soon as you walk in, you are greeted warmly by fabulously friendly and well presented people with great attitudes.
You are made to feel at home. The decor is simple and modern. The menu is well set out and has a good variety of healthy options aswell as tasty options to treat yourself with - the chocolate tart dessert is to die for!
They have a great looking function room out the back too. I can't wait to go try out some more of their delicious menu! And to have another friendly laugh with their staff :)

This place was great,
Service was amazing and the atmosphere was so welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place. Also they have the best shisha in the area. Well worth the visit. Food was great as well I recommend the steak and chicken menu selections. The lamb ribs are to die for as well.
Keep up the good work guys.

Wow, things must have changed dramatically over the past 12 months. We have took our elderly mother (90) there & the wait staff couldn't have been more affable. Nothing was a bother. Food was great & served in a timely manner. This was my 2nd visit & will be back in December from Adelaide & will try again☺

Food tastes ok (nothing spectacular), however it is severally overpriced for the serving size and quality. We have been a few times and our opinion has not changed. The first time, we ordered steak and a full rack of pork ribs. The ribs, although ok tasting were horribly small in size. When I think full rack, I think of Hurricanes full rack. This was severely underwhelming in quantity, and therefore expensive at almost $40. The steak was too dry, being overcooked (was meant to be medium rare but came out medium/well done). The main problem with the steak was that it was served on a wooden board that was not properly dry when stored. It had the dirty water smell; to serve steak on that was a real downer. Second time we went, the steak was ok; cooked correctly and served on a cleaned and dry plate that did not stink. We also ordered a fattouch salad, which was too small in size for the price payed. We also ordered a Linguine & Prawn special, priced at about $25. Expected a main size but got a size I would consider to be an entree. Put it this way, the 3 year old daughter ate it all and asked for more food. Yes it was tasty, but not worth the price payed. To put things into perspective, we ate at Jamie's Kitchen the next day, ordered the same dish (linguine with prawns) and it was $17.50 for an entree size but was slightly larger than the serving size at Shisha. Save your money and eat somewhere that is higher quality and/or better serving sizes. Hub Kitchen Diner in Dulwich Hill or Kitch Dining in Croydon serve similar style food that is better value. Go there instead if you are looking for burgers/ribs/steak. If you want higher quality food for similar prices, go to Vernon’s bar in Summer Hill.

Very overpriced, really small portions, slow service and amateur staff. No vegetarian options other than salads - not even a vegetarian burger. Would not go back.

Shisha is a place I came a long time ago and thought the food was nice but had no idea what knafeh was

Now armed with new information I came with 2 others and were seated at a upstairs area which I did know about

Everything we had was delicious. Lamp dumplings are something different to try but I liked it. Haloumi chips is a great idea. My burger was ok and the others enjoyed there steak. The knafeh was a new taste sensation! Could easily had a large one to myself!

Prices though are a bit expensive but this is the only negative I can give!

Instead of looking for there food van or street stall ,just come here

Shisha Bar & Grill is probably the most trendiest cafe in the area. The decor is absolutely stunning and I love the whole vibe of the place.

I came here for some breakfast and got the watermelon and feta salad, and the mushroom and poached egg toast. Food was alright but didn't give us that 'wow' factor.

Service was very good as our waitress was attentive and caring throughout the whole meal.

Overall, a solid suburbuan cafe and I will come back here again in the future to try the lunch items.
Eatwithmyfoodsafari
Found the menu disappointing but admittedly I was expecting mezze and pide rather than burgers and ribs. To me, this is after all the home of knafeh, the glorious baked cheese dessert. Yes, the Bar & Grill in the restaurant name is a dead giveaway but I've always just known it as Shisha.

Had the Wagyu beef burger and the chips and dips. Rookie mistake - the burger comes with fries and the dips didn't really add anything to the chip dish. The dips would have been much better served with a traditional accompaniment of bread. Or just give me gravy with the chips.

Nice service, great decor and ambience.

Came here with high expectations after a friend told us the ribs were amazing. We started with a salad then my man had half a rack of pork ribs and I the chicken plate. He was very underwhelmed. Just average he said. "Hurricanes are better, there's no way they cook them for 14hrs" (as stated on the menu). That aside the chicken plate was bland. Just not tasty. The pieces of chicken not marinated. Not cooked over charcoal, just lightly coloured in the oven served with bread, chips and salad. I felt like this was something I could have made at home. Left half the chicken cause it was just boring.
For dessert, we shared Kanafe. Was yum but not worth coming back for.
Flavour is important to me. This place lacked it big time!

I had a massive knafeh craving which I just couldn’t curb. It was ongoing for 2 days so had to be done. Shisha Bar & Grill have food too (well shisha’s and a whole lot more also), but on this occasion we only came for dessert, and the dessert on its own was great enough to get a mention.

Honestly I came for the knafeh and fell in love with the sticky date pudding. This was one amazing pudding. Deliciously soft and warm, with cold vanilla ice cream melting away on top – it was one amazing combo that perfected this dessert meal. Pudding had a strong flavour but it was not too sweet, and I couldn’t keep my spoon away.

Knafeh came out as a massive serving, could totally see how it was $12. This craving all began after my first encounter with ‘knafeh’ the food truck, which proved how food trucks can be wildly successful with just one main offering. Shisha’s version wasn’t completely on par with Knafeh’s, however was a strong contender.

If you only have room for one dessert though, make sure it’s the pudding because this one is a true winner!

The highlight of Shisha is the friendly and always welcoming staff, along with good quality food and a tempting menu. My only complaint is the coffee, just too weak for my taste. Overall I recommend this place as a weekend lunch/brunch/breakfast spot in a convenient location.

Been here a couple of times now and had the same experience each time.
We ordered 2 big breakfasts and waited 45 minutes to get it. And even then, our eggs were cold. Not many people were here so they weren't busy. Just not sure why it took so long for eggs.. My mushrooms and bacon were also cold and i left my plate with 3/4 of the food still on it because it was actually hard to eat. Last time, i thought it may have been a one off. But its the third time now, and we've had the same experience each time. So disappointing, considering how good this place used to be. Now they struggle to make eggs.. Not suggesting this to anyone again and its definitely our last time going to Shisha.

On a chance at the last minute I made a booking and nothing was too much trouble.
Service was friendly and knowledgeable. We had something we needed to be out for, so asked for recommendations on what was going to be good within our timeframe. We ordered and everything arrived when it needed to.
Gorgeous lamb cutlets and super flavoursome chicken from the grill. Knafeh for dessert was a real treat and well worth trying. We wish we weren't so rushed, but we will come back, and bring friends to share this great venue!

We went there on the weekend with friends .. Friendly staff ..and attentive .. great food!! Amazing shisha one of the best I have had ... We had there special .. Wow wow wow!!!!Great local restaurant! Great atmosphere!! Will be back !

I had great expectations for this lovely little cafe - it always looks so busy and vibrant when I'd drive past every night!

We came here mainly for their shisha, which unfortunately was not up to scratch (in our experience). We ordered coconut-flavoured shisha, and waited almost an hour to receive it while other tables (who had come way after us) all received theirs. Staff constantly said ours was still coming. When it did finally arrive, staff expect you to "start" the shisha yourself (whereas almost all other restaurants / cafes will do it for you as part of the service). The flavour was okay, but tasted quite dry, and disappeared within 10mins or so which was very disappointing. Also, staff were very inattentive when it came to bringing around extra coal and keeping your shisha in good condition.

Aside from the shisha, we also ordered dinner beforehand which was good. I had the lamb and pine nut "dumplings" in warm yoghurt sauce - a Lebanese dish called Shish Barak - which was lovely. We wanted to try the knafeh but were too full.Overall, this is a promising cafe with good food options and a busting crowd. However, I won't be back for their sub-par shisha.

A taste for knafeh saw me inevitably drawn to the source of knafeh goodness, Shisha in Croydon Park. We came early on a Sunday evening, with our eating shoes on. Shisha markets itself as a bar and grill but the menu felt a little disjointed, as though it couldn't decide whether to go with a tapas style of eating, or a heavier 'food that sticks to your ribs' approach. Our ordering was similarly disjointed - a pork belly starter, fattoush and a chicken burger and chips. The pork belly was nice but unexciting, the other dishes were very good. The portions were so generous that we had no room left for knafeh which was frankly amazing. That being said, I was still feeling pangs of food envy looking at the table next door demolish their knafeh and a couple walking out with their takeway knafeh in a box :O Overall we really enjoyed our meal, as well as the friendly attentive service and the tasteful surroundings. Looking forward to a rerun visit and enjoying the enticing looking outdoor area on a balmy summer evening.

I came here a while ago and had the grilled chicken burger. It was delicious. It seems like the menu has changed a little or maybe I just don't remember correctly. The all day breakfast menu looks great. I am looking forward to trying many of the dishes!

If you live in the inner west and can't be bothered looking for parking or going through the busy streets of Burwood, just go here. It's a great cafe, just abit over priced with some things but was great food and the lamb chops were juicy :)

Garbage service, taking over 45 minutes to serve breakfast even though not packed. Basically run by amateurs (who hilariously don't know the definition of eggs benedict) The food is mediocre, and definitely not worth the wait. To top it off, the owners are extremely rude and arrogant!

Stick to established cafes!
Jack Li
Absolutely garbage service, took over 45 minutes for breakfast to be served even though it wasn't particularly busy, food average but definitely not worth the wait. Avoid this amateur establishment
Luvmanga08
Worst service ever. I came here thinking ill try a new shisha place and the pictures looked decent. The owner was abrupt and unnecessary abrassive. She looked down on her customers unless they were her friends. She was agrresivelly intimidating about what we can and cannot order. We were being forced to order food even though we were just joining a group of friends who had just ordered dinner. And apparantly we cant have just shisha without food even thought its called 61 shisha...

Dropped the ball guys!. My partner and I are locals and used to love this restaurant back in the day - it was some of the best and most exciting Lebanese food in Sydney prior to the recent makeover.

We've eaten dinner there a couple of times since the renovation and have always been disappointed. The meat is either raw or completely over cooked and the menu is just so boring! On one occassion, despite having booked a week in advance, my partner and I were told half way through our mains that someone else was waiting for our table and that - in so many words - we needed to hurry up.

Today was the final straw.

The one thing that had been consistently great until now was breakfast! We attended the restaurant this morning and ordered our favorite dish - pulled pork eggs benedict. The dish came out and what we received was repulsive. The pork was not "pulled", but rather thick slabs of undercooked pork belly with thick unrenderred chunks of fat on each piece. It was inedible and could not be further from what we ordered.

When we complained - our waitress was lovely and really understanding. I saw her take the dishes back to the kitchen and then overheard the "chef" say words to the effect - "That's what pulled pork is!" and he appeared to be really angry.

My partner and I are both shy and even tempered people - this is the first time we've ever complained or sent back food at any restaurant.

I would also like to stress that the floor staff on this morning were fantastic and very accommodating. This review is not about them!

Dinner from hell 'shisha'. First of all I would like to start with Service was shocking, food was a disgrace couldn't even swallow my lamb cutlets, took me 15 minutes to digest, argili came out 45 minutes late and apparently you can have argili upstairs but not smoke, you tell
Me is that a joke? We didn't listen anyways we are smoking right now ! :) and on top of that the knefe is suppose to be large, they should have given is a small spoon because theirs no point of a large spoon, their uniforms are discusting, they look like penguins that belong in Antartica, I asked for a simple wifi password but apparently the workers can't even use it, this place must be owned by Lebos for sure! On top of that we asked for tap water and just because they are ' free of charge' we get it with 2 cubes of ice and in an old jam jar, that's rediculous! If it wasn't raining so badly outside I would leave right now without paying a cent and don't think anyone here will be getting a tip tonight, we will not be coming back here
.
I went here last night, ordered a steak, asked for medium rare, received a cold hard brick in return. Disgusted as anyone would be, I sent it back, and in return I received a Luke warm charcoaled brick instead. Also forgot to add the 1.5+ hours waiting time to receive the appalling excuse for a main.
The team need some proper training, we could have easily have walked out of the bill as they were that oblivious. So if you want a free meal, that tastes like road kill, sit upstairs, be completely ignored, and you can walk out without paying a cent :)

Needles to say I will never recommend this poor excuse of an establishment to anyone, unless I wish a horrible experience upon them.
Josie.galasso
EAR BEFORE YOU GO. We went out as a group of 5 couples, ordered the set menu and did not receive all the dishes on the menu, asked about the dishes and the Manager explained that we got the equivalent of the menu, which was a lie as we all left hungry.
Will not go again.
Buseharper
Not the first time.... I specifically called and booked a table outside the day before. We arrive right on time and all the outside tables were full - we may as well not have booked as they completely disregarded our booking. We were seated upstairs where everyone was smoking argileh with only 2 small half-open windows for ventilation. Not only did our food arrive cold but we were suffocating from the haze of the smoke. We asked for dips for our starters TWICE and they never came. When we ordered an argileh they only gave us 2 coals and when we asked for more they were done, they didn't bother coming back up with more. Terrible service, terrible food - don't bother with this place. I am genuinely disappointed as I was expecting so much after looking at the reviews.
Kjekishan
Great taste, casual set up and delicious Knafeh. We went for the pork ribs, lamb cutlets, pork belly (starter) and southern chicken wings (another starter).
The good
- Ribs were delicious and came off the bone
- Lamb cutlets had the char grill flavour (excellent) and one of the better salads on the side
- Knafeh (may have taken 20 minutes but it was divine)

The one downside which I won't understate was service - once you ordered it was a struggle to get anyone's attention so be mindful that your quick dinner go for longer than you expect. Unfortunately food can only win you so many points - service has to be better in this market.

Had a very bad experience here, other than the fact that staff are sooo rude and arrogant! We ordered cold drinks, when the waiter bought them to the table they slid off the tray and went everywhere...we weren't only soaking wet but also sticky! When we asked for an apology at least they joked about it. My friends key of her brand new car got soaked...when we came to pay we made a big deal and they were still rude and made us pay we felt so mistreated and it made our night a bad one!

I will never go to Shisha again after my experience with the female owner. After organising an event with 20 friends and spent over $1000 I returned to a Shisha two weeks later with two mates for a coffee. The owners first comment to us was that she'd never seen us at Shisha before to which I replied we were there for dinner two weeks prior. As I proceeded to pay for our coffees she made another stupid comment which was "thanks guys, maybe next time you come you can spend a little more than $20 bucks"! This was said over the counter and in front of other restaurant patrons. It was the rudest thing is ever experienced at any restaurant. Shisha will never see my face again and the 20 other mates who I introduced it to either. I don't recommend anyone to go there unless they'd like to be served by an inexperienced owner with no clue about customer service and relations. Disgusting!

A local let down. Had dinner there last night we only live a few streets away & have been before a while back. Staff friendly however clueless, asked if we wanted an ice bucket for the red wine, we hadn't finished our entrees & our mains came out, no pepper in both grinders & staff didn't check before giving to us. Music loud not that, that is an issue but Britney Spears really?
We asked if they were in the entertainment book ( as I think they were in prev years) & waitress thought we were asking if she was an entertainer & when clarified she said I have no clue & walked off and didn't even check. Food was OK not great my rump cap was super tough.
Suits a young 20something crowd who don't know good service ( FYI we are only in our 30's).
Had also had breaky there a cpl of months ago & the eggs Benedict did not come with hollandaise (??).
Definitely better places around where staff know simple hospitality skills .

I had dinner here on a Sunday night. Group of 9 adults plus 2 babies. The service was exceptional and food great. Highly recommend the Knafer for dessert

Shisha Bar Croydon On a busy corner of Croydon Rd is Shisha Bar an Industrial inspired cafe. The corner location mixed with a full crowd can make the Shisha Bar a noisy place. Staff was helpful and obliging, making the Shisha Bar a welcoming place. Serving an eclectic menu, with inspiration from the Middle East, America and Modern Australian cuisine.
Khalily
Drive by this corner in Croydon Park in the evenings and you’ll notice people eating, chatting, smoking shisha and laughing. When it comes to breakfast, people are fresh out of bed ready for their poached eggs, freshly brewed coffee and greetings of ‘Top of the Morning’. This is Shisha Bar and Grill, a modern Middle Eastern and Mediterranean joint in the heart of Sydney.

Dissapointed. I am very disappointed and beyond offended with Shisha's service. The owner of the business (a female) is very rude!!!!! I usually go there on a regular basis but will definitely not be back!
Blueribbonplumbing
Mutton dressed as lamb. Overpriced for very average food. There's so many better and cheaper middle eastern restaurants close by.

Great food, excellent wine list, great atmosphere, helpful staff, great coffee, great desert. Can't go wrong here 5 stars!!!

Big hype for nothing. Location: the location of the restaurant itself is very accessible, just off Georges River Road in Croydon Park in the Inner West of Sydney. The restaurant is well-established and set out in order to cater for: individual, joint or a group meal.
Food: I ordered the 'spring chicken , lemon , garlic and suma with creamy mushroom sauce' and 'well done tbone steak with creamy mushroom sauce'. The chicken was well-cooked, juicy and filled with flavour. Whereas the only edible parts to the tbone was the outskirts of the steak - the inside was raw and the meat was pink.
Service: the service was absolutely absurd. Ordering two very simple meals, took more than 45 minutes before we received the food . The waitress were not very friendly and were in a rush to clear the tables whilst customers were still eating.
Rating: 4/10 - will not visit again.
Menina
Won't even go there because the girl I spoke to, Mona needs a massive attitude adjustment.
I asked if they had a menu online- she said we are a steakhouse, and it's only a booking for two so what's the problem.
A little disappointing :(
David Nguyen
I wanted to like this place... but I didn't.. The staff were unfriendly and inefficient. We ordered an apple shisha when we sat down however several tables which sat down after us received theirs first. After finishing our food and several reminders, our shisha finally came out an hour later (and 30 minutes before closing time) with no apology given. We weren't the only patrons running out of patience either. It was not until we overheard the Manager (I assumed she was) having a go at the shisha guy for taking care of his mates while making other tables wait did we finally get our shisha. We also had to ask four times for table water.

We ordered the slow cooked pork belly to share, sirloin steak and knafeh. The pork belly was boring and bland. however the steak (and chips) were great and the knafeh lives up to its reputation. The decor is relatively nice and the rest of the menu looks interesting however the extremely sloppy service means that we will not be returning nor recommending this place.

The food is ordinary, and over price,I order a glass of wine, and the glass was less than half full, what a rip off.

Not a great experience. We are locals and have heard great things about this place but when we finally booked last night we arrived and were seated down stairs ordered drinks then we were asked to move?? not having been to this place before and feeling a bit awkward we said yes and we were take upstairs we were the only people up there we did not feel any atmosphere upstairs it felt like we were at home looking a four walls so we decided to leave we paid for our drinks and left only to find the table we were originally seated at was empty!!! We asked why we were moved but the lady could not give a reason, so we left and went to the pub down the road and had a great meal.

Not bad but I wouldn't go out of my way for this place. We're locals and always drive past this place. Most nights its pretty busy so we never bother waiting but this time, it was a little more quiet so we decided to pull over for a feed. The menu was a little disappointing - I was expecting an ethic cuisine rather than burgers, ribs and steak (and I didn't care too much for the menu to be on a rolled up scroll which was impossible to read without both hands holding it down but I'm just being fussy!). None the less, we ordered the Beef and Chicken burgers. I preferred the Beef - it was so Yum! Chips were tasty too. Couldn't fit dessert in which was a shame. The staff was a young girl who was very friendly and chatty. Another female staff came to check up on us once the food came. She was very friendly too but lingered a little more than she needed to - it was a little awkward but that didn't deter us! My only reccommendation is to the staff - the kitchen isn't sound proof and we could hear you talking about *whispers* SEX haha. That being said, the entertainment during our visit was pretty amusing!

Nothing for vegetarians. I was told I could have a vegetation burger made specially by the chef as there was only one item on the whole menu that didn't have meat. A bread role with lettuce tomato and a slice of cheese is not a vegetarian burger. I'm sorry, but this was not a good dinner.

-----12 Sep, 2014-----

Nothing for vegetarians. So far so good!. Great Coffee 10/10
Amazing Knafeh 9/10 (bigger serving please!!)
Awesome Breakfast 8/10 (more different and interesting options please!!)

Service was just above average.
Love the decor! DON'T BRING HUNGRY KIDS!. Visited tonight with my two young children, no kids menu was the first issue, however we managed and ordered all our meals. We waited a while, no dramas wine and beer was great. Kids happy. Service to start was friendly enough though a little overdone by maître de. Then main meals arrived for adults... Looking good. Still waiting 10 minutes later for kids meals only to be told that she didn't order them! What the....? 10 more minutes wait and finally the food arrives. Kids starving by now only to find that the salt n pepper prawns are covered in hot chilli.... Another 10 minute wait for replacement meal. No apologies, no care, the young waitress was not experienced.
Won't be returning to this restaurant, not family friendly in the least. Shame :-(

Do not waste your time here. Slow service (waited for over 45min for our food before leaving) and rude staff.
Anna Williams
The food looked and smelt great but we never got a chance to eat it. We arrived at 8pm didn't get served for 10 minutes... Ordered our food... Waited for 50 minutes... Asked for an update and got told it would be another 10 minutes. We then asked to cancel our order. No one brought us our bill despite us asking for it and after we had already cancelled our food it was brought out to the table and we had no choice but to walk away from it in front of everyone because we were running late for another engagement.
The worst part was when we spoke to the person that took our order saying that our food was very late she said this is a restaurant not McDonald's - yes it is a restaurant and good restaurants do not take 1 hr to feed their customers.
Very VERY disappointing.

Fantastic. Amazing quality. the standard of the food and presentation is top notch and their cofee is devine.

Bring back the old Shisha!!!!!!. I had been to the original Shisha in 2012 and the food was AMAZING! went there a few weeks ago to check out the new refurbishment and thought ''why change your menu when it was not to fault to start with?''. I then saw the menu, they kept some of the dishes (which are delicious), though added in burgers? steaks? chips? why on earth did Shisha need the feel to conform to everything other restaurant in Sydney?
So, overall the food was OK - although, i think she should have just stuck with a makeover; change the menu back!
We ate a mediocre amount of food; however, when we received the bill it was enough to have dined at one of the most expensive restaurants in Sydney - we weren't happy!
Shisha, go back to the basics of the food you cook the best - Lebanese. Leave the western cooking to someone else.
P.s - you might want to lower your prices if you want people to comeback often because i do love your food.
SM
YUMMMM- This place is amazing!!!!. I dine at Shisha regularly with my friends and we absolutely love it!! This place is hands down the best in the area. I absolutely love the owner, he's so funny and nice and welcoming. His warm and friendly, funny sense of humor is what keeps you coming back. Not only do they make amazing coffee but the food is to die for!!! This café has an awesome classy vibe about it without being pretentious. I definitely recommend this place to everyone if you want amazing food , amazing coffee and amazing service this is the place to go!!!!!

My new favourite place. I have been here a few times now and every time was an incredible food experience. The service was great, friendly and informative. The Knafeh is to die for. I'd go every night if i had the money.

Absolutely beautiful coffee today x 2. And I'm fussy. I'm from Melbourne. Thank you.

Terrible service. We went to Shisha on Sunday night after I was persuaded that the kenefeh there is better than at the traditional Lebanese sweet shops. We arrived and an overbearing waiter took our order, which included one take away order (fatoush and lamb) to be given to us at the end of the meal. The take away order was handed to me before we received our dessert and we waited around 45 minutes for the kenefeh. When I got home, the take away order was missing the fatoush which I had specifcally ordered and the sauce for the meat was not what I asked for, it was a mushroom sauce instead of mustard. Normally I wouldn't write such reviews, but the waiter promised us that he would look after us and instead, we got ripped off and what was supposed to be a 30 minute coffee and dessert turned into an hour and a half of waiting, listening to excuses and then paying for food which was not provided to us.

No shisha at a shisha bar. You would think a place called shisja bar has shisha from at least 6 pm . got seated and then the waitress took the shisha order then came past after 5 mins and took food order . another lady comes over after 5 mins and says shisha is not available for another 1hr . no apology or explanation given . got up and left . have eaten here before and food is average . overall 2/5

Breakfast. The only thing as bad as the food at this place is the service. It took 20 minutes to be given menus and another 40 minutes to receive our order which was hardly edible. Never again.

Patricia. Our family celebrated my husbands birthday & had a great time. Great food, service & atmosphere. Shared dessert, which were spectacular. Very busy place. Will definitely return.

Very very poor. I went there today with my wife and they sat us down. We had to ask for the menus. Once the menus were given, we looked at it and were ready to order. There were two young girls as waitresses and dressed like they were going to a dance party. As one girl came to take our order, she said that the kitchen was under the pump and there would be a 20minute plus wait. There was no acknowledgment from the staff whats so ever. We just got up and left. Not even an apology. This place and staff are just too worried about looks and show. Horrible service. Don't recommend

First time I have dined here and I will never return to this restaurant again.

Our food order took approximately an hour to be served. The side dishes were brought out after we had finished our meal. We had to ask several times for them during the meal.

Drinks service was extremely slow and they has forgotten orders.

Food tasted okay, but I was so put off by the bad service and so hungry by the time our food came out that anything would have tasted good.
Just don't order the creme brûlée! That was definitely awful!

Poor service by management. And the owner never acknowledge any of the issues at our table.

Also, beware! Check your bill!! We were overcharged on numerous items. And it was a error in the system they were aware of! I wonder how many other people have dined there and overpaid?

Terrible! I do NOT recommend dining here!

Mixed feelings.. Shisha Bar and Grill was closed for several months for refurbishment. It has reopened, and now offers weekend all day breakfasts. I live across the road, and despite the reviews there, thought I'd give them a try.

If I had reviewed this place on 7/12/13 when I first tried their weekend breakfast, I'd have given them five stars. Their food was amazing (the smoked salmon and poached eggs with smashed avo and feta on sourdough - $18), the service fast and friendly, and the atmosphere fun and funky. I sat and was immediately presented with a menu and cold table water with lemon and mint. I was convinced that this would be my new breakfast hangout.

Today is a completely different story. I sat down and ordered a flat white 'to start' while I look at the menu. I had returned hoping to try the french toast brioche with cinnamon apples and candied walnuts, but today the menu had it with strawberries and what turned out to be a bowl of icecream ($15). Far less exciting but I thought I'd give it a go. I also ordered a fresh juice off the menu (orange, pineapple, and lemon) for $7. The juice came first and was quite tasty, and served in an old milk bottle style arrangement with a nice straw, so kudos for presentation there. Still no coffee. Still no table water. I waited and waited and eventually asked for some table water. Today mine came in a less than clean looking bottle, sans lemon and mint (though others around me looked like last time's). Eventually my coffee came, with my meal, and an apology from the waitress for the delay. She seemed genuine. I tucked into my meal and my coffee, and noticed a VERY unpleasant taste, but couldn't work out what it was from. I soon realised that my plate had been dusted not with icing sugar, but with Bicarbonate of Soda. Disgusting. I told my waitress, who apologised and said she'd tell Mona. I don't know who Mona is, but she certainly didn't come to apologise - she eventually sent the waitress back with another apology, and a recommendation not to eat any salt and vinegar chips today, because vinegar and bicarb react badly together. Gee, thanks. I sat a while longer and was eventually brought a 'complimentary' dessert that I didn't want, ask for, or even get to choose. The waitress looked worried though, so I smiled and asked if I could have it to take away.

No mention of the bill was made, so I eventually went up to the counter. Mona was there. I asked politely but looking disappointed, if I was still expected to pay for the meal. She looked at the invoice and said 'just give me $16'. So... $7 for the juice that I mostly used to try to get the bicarb taste out of my mouth (I didn't work and is still there, for the record), $4 for the coffee I couldn't enjoy with a mouth full of bicarb, and $5 for... hmm... the 'complimentary' dessert, perhaps?

I am so thoroughly disappointed. This is not the way to keep a customer.

Just eat not. Hi all, tonight saturday 9th of November went to a restaurant called Shisha at Croydon Park... Service was good but steaks were of a poor quality .. Salads we're served in a very small bowl, I thought that I was in a Chinese restaurant If you like your meat chewy this would be a place for you!!! ..they couldn't even make a Dianne sauce......hopeless we all live and learn.....would I go there again not at all....!!!!! Originally I thought I was going to a Lebanese restaurant!! But things had changed apparently!!! Maybe it was my unlucky night

Lovely ambience. Repeat offender... the shisha plate here is just lovely and every time I have dinner here I order it! Although my friends have tried the various dishes and i'll admit i tend to eat off their plates too. I know different people who have not been as kind in their reviews but I do think that this is a restaurant that could hold its own in the city, maybe some are just irked by the prices. however in all honesty if you dont want to pay them i have a simple solution... dont eat here. the food is not your standard suburban fare.

I have found the staff to be friendly and courteous here however there is often only 2 on so service can be slightly delayed. but the ambience here is designed for a leisurely dinner, particularly on a sunday night when the live acoustic music of Victor Valdes and friends most definitely sets a romantic mood. i would have been up dancing if my boyfriend hadnt been so embarrassed :)

For those with a sweet tooth i strongly recommend the chocolate lava cake. i dont think this is actually what it is called but ask your waiter for it and they will know what you mean. its rich and oozes out onto the plate. a decadent treat that you can attempt to share, although i tend to want it all to myself.

Would never return to this place. I signed up to Urban Spoon just to write this review. I went on Saturday night with a group of 24 people to celebrate my birthday, and was horribly disappointed. I had been once before, with another person, and the food had been fantastic, if a little on the pricey side.

We arrived at 7:30 and were seated, although it took them a while to bring out some extra chairs. The owner insisted we take the set banquet menu, even though we weren’t told we had to order a set menu when we made the booking by phone. No problem. What irked me was that we decided to go vegetarian, and the meat eaters in our group would order extra dishes. The quantities they served were ridiculously tiny – think 15 pieces of haloumi for 24 people – even though we were paying $40 a head. Falafels – there were six falafels per 15 – that’s not even one per person! The meat dishes were also very tiny.

The service was also ridiculously slow and we had to wait over an hour for extra food (they gave us seven more falafels!)

In the end, the manager was a little apologetic and gave us free dessert – three desserts per 24 (again with the small quantity of food) and we left three hours later, still hungry.

Although I am a local and I love to support local business, I will never visit this place again. It’s not worth it.

Thoroughly recommend. As a local I will definitely be back again! I can thoroughly recommend Shisha's! The food was outstanding, servings generous and fabulous and attentive service! I didn't think the prices were over the top for the quality and quantity of food. It's a small and cosy restaurant so can be a bit noisy if there are some bigger groups there but nowhere near as noisy as some restaurants.

We had the spicy sausages in gypsy sauce and shisha for starters which were both absolutely delicious, then the lamb shanks and dukkah spatchcock with cauliflower chickpea salad with pomegranate dressing, which were all really tasty. There was no way we could even think about dessert unfortunately, will have to try to fit that in next time. Will definitely be back!

A lovely evening's dining.... On the pricey side but absolutely divine - perfect service, absolutely delightful and impeccable. Food was amazingly tasty with generous servings. Decor lovely too. We're already planning our next visits...

Small Servings, Overpriced. This is a nice place with great staff. But they make the mistake that so many small restaurants make, which is to skimp on the food and then charge for it like a wounded bull.

$17 for 3 small dollops of dip and a few pieces of toasted bread? $26 for some kafta and chicken skewers that would cost $10 anywhere else.

This is a small restaurant in the outer west but the prices are straight out of a 1 or 2 hat inner-city place. Get real guys.
