Great dessert bar to dine in at Alexandria. First time eating at this Max Brenner and I was happy with the food and service. Tried their new Choc Hazelnut Cake and I really enjoyed it, especially the milk chocolate mousse. I plan to try the Lychee, Raspberry & Rose Cake or White Cocokare Raspberry Crepe Cake next time I'm here.

Had some awful Tutti Frutti waffles delivered from this Max Brenner. Banana was under-ripe, waffles weren't fresh, was barely any chocolate sauce, and a cup of Bulla ice cream that was both melted and icy at the same time.

The worst coffee I've ever taste in my life. Order a large mocca with an extra shot for takeaway and this is what I get. It's not idn't a mocca at all, only a shot of coffee and a lot of foam, not even full. I normally came here to get my coffee but this is the first time ever I got this bad coffee. I can understand you guys are busy, but this is not how you serve a customer. Totally disappointed!

Great variety of sweets and drinks. Good ambiance and the staff are amazing. Especially Cathy who served and explained to us what to eat! Ended up ordering fondue for two, double tutti-frutti, brownie and hot chocolates served in a cute hug mug! Definitely gonna come back again with my family and try other sweets!

We have been regulars for several years now and have continued to see a deterioration in the cleanliness, service and quality of the menu items served. Unfortunately this is happening too often now & we won’t be returning. Here are some of the issues we experienced: The table number had chocolate residue, tables & chairs are not being cleaned & seems they are understaffed, so can be longer wait times. (New customers had no where to sit as every table needed cleaning & removal of used cutlery, crockery, etc.) Drinks & menu items have been served luke warm and need reheating/redoing. Toilets were dirty. Priority seems to be delivery orders, which is disappointing given the array of tables and enjoyment of dining in. I worry that given this is one of the few Max Brenner’s left that it may not last long if the above is not addressed. Also surprised with the above given it is located at its head office. Really hope these are rectified and a team employed that realises what good customer service is.

Genuine question - is cold maple syrup just a doody st thing or all max brenners? I’ve had it twice now at doody st

Service was extremely slow for two hot chocolates (almost 30mins) and one of them was luke warm.
Even after complaining they provided another luke warm hot chocolate.
It was busy but is no excuse, it was also noticable other people had issues with their orders.

Feel like Max Brenner is a little overrated. They do have lots of menu options (expensive prices) and some things are overly sweet. Cookies and cream shake is good if you want something cold to satisfy your dessert cravings, and tutti frutti waffles tend to be good as well.

I’m a huge fan of waffles so I was really excited to visit Max Brenner.
I ordered a plain waffle and added ice cream, marshmallows and chocolate sauce. It was really good with the outside of the waffle being crisp and the inside soft. There was a generous amount of chocolate sauce too.

The service here was the downfall though. I had to repeat myself several times while giving my order. My friend ordered the Tutti-Frutti Waffle and was served the same as what I ordered. The staff member went back inside to get the banana and strawberries but by the time they were delivered a lot of her ice cream had melted and she’d eaten half of the waffle. The venue wasn’t busy either so I didn’t think there was a valid excuse for the incorrect order and wait time for the fruit to come out.

Max Brenner is always good if you’re wanting something naughty/sweet. You can’t go past the chocolate foundue for two and the tutti fruiti waffles!

Nice mochas, not too chocolatey as you're eating them with chocolate. A bit expensive for food but you come here for an indulgent experience.

Delicious food but sad to say that customer service is poor. The few times I have been they have been understaffed on busy nights and we had been told we had to wait 10 minutes for our order to be taken due to insufficient table numbers.
Otherwise, lovely cafe space and food/drinks.
Joining other well-known names like Zeus, Three Blue Ducks and Messina to the area, Max Brenner have opened up shop in the Rosebery end of Alexandria in Doody street, under their head office and distribution center. The staff are incredibly friendly but Im sad to see the coffee is over extracted and bitter, and the giant truffles aren't so giant anymore. Points for the added chocolate swirls in my takeaway box to try and jazz it up.
